Beautiful Hawaii property rentals

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

Oh my gosh. You know how I’ve been longing for a vacation don’t you? Well I can’t take one right now, so I’m doing the next best thing by visiting exotic sites online and day dreaming about them. Well I found one that makes me drool. It’s a site that features Hawaii Vacation Rentals and now I’m just dying to go to Hawaii.

Gebhart Properties has vacation rentals on the “big island” and on maui. These are premiere resorts and ocean front homes that are being put up for rent. The resorts and rental homes are just lovely, with ocean front views, spacious living areas and they are even decorated with beautiful artwork.

Each property that Gebhart properties rents out is unique. Some have gourmet kitchens, another is only 30 feet from the ocean. If you’ve been thinking of a vacation in Hawaii or even moving their temporarily why don’t you visit the Gebhart website and have a look at their lovely properties.

You just have to promise me, since I can’t get away for a vacation right now, that if you do go you’ll send me a note and let me know if it’s as jaw dropping gorgeous as I think it is.

My old was boss arrested!

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve mentioned many times on this site that I used to be a jeweler. Well, before I started out on my own in the jewelry trade I worked for a Russian Armenian man. He was very nice, very good looking, and perhaps luckily for me – very disorganized! I was managing his business within my first 6 months of working for him.

I worked for him for about 5 years before I had gained enough skills, and I suppose the courage, to start out on my own. One thing that I learned while I was working with him was that he was connected with some very bad people. I didn’t suspect that he was doing anything wrong or illegal, but rumors flew around and I soon found out that some of the people that visited daily, that I knew fairly well, were Russian Mafia.

My old boss always seemed to have a lot of money, and spent it extravagantly. His father was also in the trade and had a successful business so I and many others assumed that the money was coming from his father. Now I suspect otherwise and it breaks my heart.

I haven’t seen my old boss for some time but I know he has all kinds of legal troubles and had to hire a criminal defense attorney because he was arrested when he went through the border recently. Apparently the people he was with had arrest warrants out for them and when the car was stopped at the border a number of smuggled items were found in the car. Also found in the car was a large amount of jewelry and loose gem stones. The only passenger in the car that had any jewelry connections was my former boss.

He’s denied having anything to do with the jewels found in the car, but I guess because he happened to be with wanted men and because other smuggled items were found in the car it’s been assumed that he had smuggled the jewels into the country. I don’t know if there are charges that the jewelry is stolen or anything but I presume that there are.

It broke my heart when I heard this news. I’d always been very close to my old boss. It always felt like he was my brother the way we looked out for each other.

I’m still shocked by the news, and I’m hoping that it isn’t true. I certainly hope that his criminal defense lawyer is one of the best. This happened a few months ago, and I know that he’s not in jail so I’m assuming that his lawyer has been doing a good job of at least keeping him out of jail. If I get any more news as to whats happened to my old boss I’ll update this post.

Fly like a Monarch

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

UK readers – have you heard of a website named Flymonarch? If you weren’t aware of the site prior to reading this you really should visit it. They offer amazingly cheap flights. Actually if you are traveling in Europe you might be interested in booking a flight with FlyMonarch.com to go from one European destination to another. It sounds like it will save you money.

Monarch offers low-cost flights from London Luton, London Gatwick, Birmingham, Malaga, and Manchester airports to destinations such as Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar, the Canaries and the Balearics. Not only do they offer cheap flights, but you can pre-book your seats and enjoy quality in-flight shopping, free newspapers, and even hot and cold meals. That sounds good. Most North American airlines don’t serve food on flights anymore, even if the flight is 5 hours or more.

Through the FlyMonarch.com site you can also book car rentals, travel insurance, hotels and you can even make golf bookings, along with scheduling your cheap flight. This certainly sounds like a company to visit when you are planning to travel.

My traveling brother

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

My brother just came back from a trip to San Diego. He’s becoming quite the traveler. Every year he and his wife take at least two trips. Last year they went to Africa and went on safari. This year, they had the San Diego trip and in a couple of week they’ll be off to India. I only wish that Chris and I could travel like that.

Anyway, my brother called this evening and told me all about his trip. They went to the zoo and took in a few productions, and he told me they went to the most amazing restaurant. My brother never gushes over food and as he described their meals he was making me drool. If he enjoyed the restaurant then it had excellent food. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the restaurant that he was describing to me. I’ve been trying to see if I can figure it out by looking up San Diego restaurants on Discover San Diego, but I’m not having any luck. I’ll have to call him tomorrow and ask him what the name of the restaurant was. I’m going to write the name down, because if it was as good as he described I’m going to go there some day when Chris and I go to San Diego for a visit. At least in the mean time I’ve been learning a bit more about the city from my brothers travels and by reading Discover San Diego. I like learning about new places – especially ones that I’d like to visit.

January bills got you down?

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

Now that January is here I bet some of you are adding up how much you spent over the holidays. Did any of you go over budget? January can be depressing when you realize that you overspent in December. We’re supposed to be beginning a new year and many people end up starting out in debt.

If you’ve found that you are in need of some extra money have you ever thought about perhaps talking to your bank and looking into a debt consolidation loan? Instead of paying your bills separately, a little bit for you, and a bit more for you – why not add up everything you own and take out a loan that will pay off all of those debts. Then you’d only have to pay off the loan.

I know the thought of taking out loans can be a scary prospect for many people, but sometimes it just has to be done. Knowing when it’s time to get help and perhaps take out a loan is half the battle. Why wait until you are even further in debt?

Even if you haven’t to have a poor credit rating there are many places where you can secure Bad credit loans. You may end up paying a little more interest than if your credit rating was fantastic, but think about it- securing any type of loan when you have a bad credit rating, and actually paying it off on time by making timely payments is one way to work towards improving your credit rating.
