Ready to buy a telephoto lense

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

The other day I decided to do some serious hunting for a telephoto lens for my Canon Digital SLR camera.

I found two lenses that I wanted to purchase. On Amazon of all places, and the price wasn’t too bad, but then I noticed that they would only ship those items to American addresses.

So … who knows of a great place to get camera lenses and accessories online for a good price? A place that ships throughout North America of course. Maybe Ebay? Any other ideas for me?

I was all set to plunk down about $700! It’s there loss. I’ll find the lenses I want at a good price somewhere else.

New software in the office

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

Chris had a bit of a messed up day at work yesterday. They’re apparently upgrading all of the healthcare management software in the hospital and they were testing it out in Chris’ department yesterday.

I don’t know if they’ve ever changed the software over to a new program in your workplace, but it’s a pain in the butt. There’s always people that can’t figure it out, or worse, it’s a new complicated program unlike anything that was used in that workplace before so no one knows how to use it once it’s installed.

In the healthcare field this is bad news! There’s already enough delays in patient care due to most medical offices and hospitals being short staffed. A major software change causes even more delays as people struggle to learn new programs while they try to work.

That’s what happened in Chris’ department. No one had been trained on the new software so it was chaos!

They really should train people first before them implement a system wide change don’t you think?

Enter to Win a Nintendo Wii at CellForCash

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

Hey gang, do you want a chance to win a Nintendo Wii from CellForCash.com? Sure you do!

I believe I’ve told you about CellForCash.com in the past.

wii.jpg It’s an online company that makes it easy for you to sell your cell phone for cash. Cool.

Not only can you enter their contest and have a chance at winning their monthly $100 giveaway, win a great prize like the Nintendo Wii and be entered in their annual $1000 grand prize draw, but you can also recycle your cell phone for free and get cash back for it too.

Did you know that millions of old cellphones are simply thrown away each year in the USA? These cellphones end up in landfills. Hazardous toxic metals and chemicals can leach from the old cell phones into the ground waters and cause pollution. It’s terrible really when you think about it. So why not do your part and check to see if you can sell your old cellphone to CellForCash.com? They’ll recycle the cell phone for you once they receive it.

So what are you waiting for? You can win a Wii if you enter this contest. Go sign up!

Gurgles and growls are a good thing

September 17, 2007 by Tricia

I didn’t have a very good night last night. I spent the majority of the night in really bad pain. Sometimes when my Crohn’s is acting up I get pain that radiates up into my chest from my abdomen. I’m fairly certain that this occurs only when I have a bowel obstruction and it’s pretty scary because the pain is so intense it’s unbelievable.

Needless to say I spent another night without sleep and this time round I even considered going to the hospital. Of course just as I truly started to considering a hospital visit the pain finally started to subside. When a blockage resolves itself you would not believe the sounds that come from my abdomen. I really must record the gurgles that it makes. It’s so loud! I’ve come to know that the noise means I’m out of danger so I welcome the gurgles

I spent the day recovering and trying to sleep. The darn phone kept ringing though! Who keeps calling with a private long distance number? I do not answer calls who’s numbers I can’t see as it usually ends up being a survey or a “you won” call.

Anyway, that was my exciting day. Now I’m busy playing catch up on my sites!
