September 21, 2007 by Tricia

Live in the UK? Are you looking for a credit card that offers 0% on balance transfers as well as a number of other great features? Yes? Well why don’t you take a look at what the Mint credit card has to offer?

Right now, if you apply for a low interest Mint Credit Card you can get 0% on Balance Transfers for 13 months. You’ll also get 0% on all purchases until April 2008. Sounds like a pretty good introductory offer to me.

Other benefits of having a Mint Credit card include having up to 56 days interest free on all purchases and the ability to manage your Mint Credit Card account online on a secure site. You can download your statement when managing your account online as well as receive email alerts and messages. You’ll also have online fraud protection.

The Mint Credit card has a typical 14.9% APR and once you are accepted you will be able to have up to a £7,500 credit limit all with no annual fee.

If you don’t recognize the Mint Credit Card name have no fear. Mint is a business name of the Royal Bank of Scotland. You’ll also be pleased to know that Mint is accepted worldwide where ever you see a MasterCard sign your Mint Credit card will be accepted.

So if you like the sound of the low interest Mint Credit Card and want to learn more about it or would like to apply online just visit the Mint website.

Smoggy

September 21, 2007 by Tricia

It’s still been smoggy here all day. I’m not sure if it was just because it was a fairly warm and humid day or if the auto wrecking yard fire had anything to do with it. I’m pretty sure it’s a combination of both things.

Either way, it’s looked pretty much like it would rain all day with that overcast cloudy look to the sky. Kind of depressing. There’s no rain in the forecast at all though.

I wish it would rain. We haven’t had much this summer and frankly my plants need a good dose of rain to keep them looking good as autumn approaches. Instead I’ve sent Chris outside to water.

My brother and his cars!

September 21, 2007 by Tricia

Speaking of cars … well sort of … my brother just got a new car. Now I don’t know what kind of relatives you have, but my brother is one of those people that has to have the best of everything and likes to show it off.

Every time he gets something new – a new patio set, his hot tub or a new car he has to take twenty pictures of it and send them all in one or two mass emails.

That’s exactly what I got tonight. An email full of photos of his new car from all angles. LOL He even showed off all his various auto accessories that he’d bought for the car.

So now what? Am I supposed to write back awed over the photos?

Big Fire in Toronto

September 21, 2007 by Tricia

There was a huge fire here in Toronto yesterday. I believe it might even still be burning!

An auto wrecking yard, not all that far from here, ended up having a huge fire. Police are investigating as to whether it was arson or not as kids were seen in the area before the fire broke out.

It’s a huge auto wrecking yard full of cars and tires. When it caught on fire there was a huge explosion and then the city filled with black smoke. Toronto’s huge, but this fire was big enough to contaminate the air and skies above the city.

I hope the fires out by sometime later today, but since tires are likely on fire I expect it will take longer. Luckily the auto wrecking yard isn’t near any water ways.

Oh Chris works in the OR recovery area and they put the whole staff on standby – something we call code orange – just in case toxic fumes from the fire started to affect people or something worse happened.

The round underground house

September 21, 2007 by Tricia

Have you heard of underground houses? My sisters ex-boyfriend actually grew up in an underground house. Different eh?

The other day Chris was watching television and he had on some documentary. I don’t know if the whole show was about this house or just part of it, but they showed this really cool underground home.

Everything was curved and round. I didn’t see the bedroom but I wouldn’t be surprised in the bed was rounded too!

The kitchen was fabulous! It had a long curved central workspace. It was like one of those very ornate reception desks. Within the curved kitchen counterspace there was a fridge.

It was specially created for this round house. It was round. It came up out of the counter and you could turn it like a lazy susan! The coolest thing was that the fridge was super energy efficient. You know when you open a fridge door and all the cold air starts to come out? Well cold air drops to the ground right? Well since this fridge came up out of the counter the cold air would drop back down into the hole that the fridge came out of, so that when the fridge was closed again it wouldn’t have lost very much cold air at all.

I love seeing great inventions like that.
