Send large files to your clients with Ease

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

As some of you may know I’m in the process of setting up a website design blog. I’m almost ready to reveal this site to the world. However, even though my own site is not ready to show you I must tell you that I’ve been working behind the scenes on some of your favorite bloggers websites. Take Mr. Fabulous for example at his site Pointless Drivel. I’ve done some work for that site, and I’m working on another one of his sites too. I’ve had some delays lately and he’s been very patient with me, thankfully. I am happy to tell you, and him, that work on his newest site will be complete within the next few days.

I’ve actually been doing graphic arts and photography for close to 12 years now. Most of the work that I’ve done in the past has been free of charge, but alas, I must earn some money at some point so please watch for my new sites announcement. Check out my photography blog Breath of Life for examples of my photography.

The work that I do involves a lot of graphics and that of course means working with files that are of a very large size. I send them back and forth to my clients for approval before I finalize them and make them a more manageable size for their websites.

I’ve come across a site that might make it easier for my clients to view and as a result approve the work that I’m doing for them. The site is called Send This File and it allows people that typically need to send large files to clients the ability to send large files with ease.

The site is super easy to use. Just register for a free account. Upload some of your files, then select an address for the person that you’d like to send the file to, select the file(s) that you’d like to send, and then click the send this file button. The recipient will receive an email with a link to the file in their email. The person can then download the file onto their computer with ease from the Send This file site.

The free account offers members – Unlimited files size, no limit on monthly uploads, shared bandwidth and storage space, your recipients have three days to pick up files you’ve sent them, Up to three downloads per file, and when a file can’t be delivered an email is sent to the sender to notify them of the problem, plus a few more helpful features.

Members who decide to purchase an account will have a choice of four paid packages ranging from a lite plan for the individual user all the way to the Enterprise plan which I presume would be best for businesses.

The paid plans include all of the features of the free accounts plus unrestricted bandwidth, unlimited storage space, 6 day pick up time, unlimited downloads on each file, 128-bit SSL encryption, and priority response via chat or email when the member needs help with the system or their account, plus many more features.

If you find that you send large files on a regular basis, or would like to have the ability to send even larger files please consider visiting Send this file to see what they have to offer.

It’s an Honor!

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

I just found out a few hours ago that I was nominated in a couple of Categories for the 2007 Bloggie Awards. Thank you so much Anita!

Anita from Say No to Crack was a doll and nominated Tricia’s Musings for Best Canadian Blog, Best Design, and most Humorous. I’m not sure that I have a chance at any of those categories because there’s a lot of fantastic blogs out there, but as the title implies it is an honor to be nominated.

Nominations end today at 10 pm. I’m not sure which time zone that is unfortunately.

You can only nominate your favorite sites once, so if you haven’t already what are you waiting for? Go get your votes in now.

I went and made my choices already. Then I visited some of the sites I nominated and let them know. I haven’t got around to everybody that I gave the nod to yet though, so if you didn’t hear from me it doesn’t mean that I didn’t nominated you.

I noticed that one of the categories is Best Topical Blog. If anyone is going to nominate sites would you consider perhaps putting my Gardening blog As the Garden Grows into that category? I might actually have a chance at that one. 🙂

Ah, just found out that Mrs. Lifecruiser nominated my gardening site as well as Tricia’s musings for the Bloggies too! Thank you!

Linky Love – Musings

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

Terri is another blogger that I’ve met through my work with pay/perp0st. When she discovered my site it seems that she got a kick out of the two of us both having “Musings” sites. Yes, that’s the name of her blog.

With Terri you get a Two for One deal just like you do with Chris and I, because her husband Kevin has a blog of his own too, it’s called Shameless Stuff and he talks about weirdness in the world on his site. It can be quite amusing. You should also visit his Bed head a day photo gallery on his Shameless Creations website.

In her blog, Terri talks about a little bit of everything. She has a nice tone to her writing and it’s easily enjoyable. I enjoyed her post where she talked about being worried about telling her mother that they were getting a puppy. Shortly after that post you’ll find one with an interesting picture of an object called a fecalizer. All I’ll say is that it’s got something to do with the puppy. You need to see the photo and read her post to get the full story.

Terri and Kevin have two young boys running around at home, and in her about me section Terri sums up her thoughts on her families direction as “We are creating a life where we work less and enjoy life, love, family, and art more.” That sounds fantastic to me Terri. I hope that you and Kevin can pull it off.

They have one more site, honestly do I know anyone that only has one site anymore? Their new site is called Shameless Reality Show which is filled with interesting stories about their family life, videos – I guess you would call them videocasts or video confessionals where family members take turns talking to their readers/ viewers about their life, happenings and goals. It’s a great site.

Oh dear! There’s even one more site! Kevin is also a healer and he’s created a site called Theta Mind . This new site discusses the powers of the mind, how to focus it’s power, and healing. That’s a very simple explanation of his site, but if you are interested in Healing please do stop by his new site and see if you can learn more about the powers of the mind.

So go and stop by Terri and her husband Kevin’s sites and tell them that Tricia says hi!

Linky Love – Toil

January 10, 2007 by Tricia

Alright!

It’s time to give a few sites a little lovin’. I think I’ll make this a regular feature on the site. If you want in please read “Want a Link on my site” for more information.

Ever since I joined Pay/perp0st in early October I’ve been meeting some great new people, and I’ve gained a few new readers too. It’s great! Not only am I and finding some great sites to visit regularly myself but I’ve been earning some extra money – although if you’ve been reading this site for a while you know the money is more needed than extra.

I think I’m going to write a separate post for each of the sites that I’d like to introduce you to. I can be a little wordy at times and I can only imagine how long this post would be if I put all the sites in one post!

The first linky love site of the week: Toil: Things you need to know

Toil:Things you need to know – This site is written by snuzulooz. Now that’s an interesting name isn’t it? I’ll have to ask where that came from.

This site really lives up to it’s name. The other day they had a sick baby in the house. Toil didn’t just write about it, she also gave some tips on how to bring down a babies fever. Great info. She’s also got some good info on her site for those that want to work from home- particularly Work at home moms. There’s a whole list of sites in a recent post that are worth visiting for ideas on how to start earning some cash at home.

Snuzulooz has been busy creating some new blogs too. The sites are just beginning but I think they will be sites to watch for in the future once she starts filling them up. One is called No Average Mom, another is Candid Quips – judging by the domain name this one will probably be a fun read, and the final site in her new line up is SEO This, which I presume will be a blog that discusses optimizing your site for better rankings on search engines.

Visit Toil and let Snuzulooz know that Tricia sent you!
