Photo Enthusiasts earn money with Shutterpoint

January 17, 2007 by Tricia

As many of you know I enjoy photography. In fact it’s become one of my greatest hobbies in the last year or two next to my gardening. I’ve actually been lucky with my hobbies and interests because they actually go together very nicely. Readers of my gardening blog have benefited from the combination of my two hobbies on many occasions.

Back in June I realized that I had quite a number of good photographs stored on my computer and that’s when I decide to create my photoblog – Breath of Life Photography. My photoblog has been well received and I’ve been told in the past that I should perhaps try to sell some of my photographs.

A few months ago I went looking for sites where I could sell my work it was at that time that I discovered www.shutterpoint.com. I didn’t become a member at that time though. I’ve been so busy with my blogs and doing some design work on the side that I actually forgot about Shutterpoint.

Shutterpoint is a fast growing stock photography service. Websites, blogs, companies and private individuals are always looking for photos to use on their sites or for commercial purposes. The site has many categories of photographs to browse through and all the photos are royalty free.

I think that this is a fantastic site for photographers – professional and enthusiasts, to promote their work, get feedback from other members through the rating system and forums, and to earn some money for their work.

Shutterpoint offers the highest payout to photographers for their photos on the internet. The payout rate is 85%. No other sites pay anything near this rate. Shutterpoint also goes a long way towards promoting your photos. Each photo you submit will also be listed on the Froogle3 online shopping search engine. Your online shutterpoint gallery can also be integrated into your website in order to promote your photos and increase the sale of your photos. Shutterpoint makes it easier for photographers to sell their work. This seems like a company that wants their members to succeed.

I’m seriously thinking of becoming a member of Shutterpoint. I could use this as another source of revenue if I’m able to sell any of my photographs, and it would also encourage me to improve the quality of my work as I get feedback from the site members. Through their feedback, and hopefully as my skills improve I’ll hopefully be able to sell more photos.

I know that many of my readers are interested in photography and that some are quite skilled at their hobby. That’s one reason why I wanted to post about Shutterpoint as I know that many of you might be interested selling photographs as a member of Shutterpoint.

I also know that a number of website designers read my blogs as well, and I’d like to remind you that when you are looking for photographs to use in your site designs Shutterpoint would be a great place to search for pictures that fit your designs. Actually, when I first found Shutterpoint a few months ago I was looking for sites where I could buy photos for my own designs, as well as sites where I could sell my photos.

I’m going to be joining Shutterpoint. I hope to see a few familiar names there when you sign up too.

Safe computing – get antivirus protection

January 16, 2007 by Tricia

I find that a number of people come to me when they have questions about their computer. Often this occurs when a problem as developed. I’ve learned overtime that one of the first questions that I should always ask is- Do you have antivirus software on your computer?

Unbelievably in this day and age when huge denial of service attacks on big companies like Yahoo.com and Google.com commonly make the news, these people often tell me that they don’t have antivirus software on their computers. Why not? With all the spam we get and websites set up to load Trojan worms onto our computers when we view a site or open an email I can’t understand why anyone would leave themselves vulnerable to leaving their computer and precious data open to that risk. Don’t they know that if a virus attack is bad enough it could wipe out their whole computer leaving the information on their hard drive useless and almost impossible to retrieve?

I always recommend that they get an anti-virus software package immediately so that they can check their computer for virus, Trojans and even spyware that might be affecting their computers performance. It’s so easy! Just click here and you can have a Norton Antivirus Download. It’s that simple. Why risk your computers data?

I use Norton Antivirus myself and I find it very easy to use. I’ve set it up to monitor my browsing and my email as it comes in, and to be on the safe side I have it scan my whole computer once a week. I haven’t had a single problem since I’ve been using Norton Antivirus. If you’d like to learn more about Norton Antivirus I suggest that you read Norton Internet Security 2007 articles and other info: and make your decision after viewing all of the information on that page.

I can usually fix computers for them, but what kills me is that most of the time, if they had antivirus software on their computer in the first place I wouldn’t have to.

Rank my tattoos

January 13, 2007 by Tricia

I just came across and interesting site. I know that a lot of my readers have tattoos. Yeah you do, I’ve seen you talking about them on your own blogs and even showing pictures of them sometimes too.

That’s why I thought of my tattooed readers when I saw this website that’s called Rank my Tattoos. I know some of you like to show off your tattoos, or maybe you want to get other peoples opinions on the design that you just had tattooed onto your skin. Well, now you can post your photo on the rank my tattoos site and have your tattoo rated.

I think this is a cool idea. If I had a tattoo I might think about doing it too. Well, depending on where exactly I ended up getting my tattoo of course.

Hey, let me know if any of you try this site out. I’d be happy to go and rate your tattoo.

India’s broadband forum

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

My readers from India might be interested in learning about the India broadband forum. I’ve just been to visit it and I can tell you that if you are looking for information on any many of the top broadband internet services in India this would be a great forum to go to in order to learn more about your ISP.

There are a number of forum categories ranging from ones that discuss specific Indian broadband ISP’s such as Airtel Broadband, one of the leading broadband providers in India, and Reliance Broadband – another popular ISP both discussed in the DSL forum, to other forum topics such as Cable Internet services, general discussions, News and Views, Computer Technology and of course a General forum where members can talk about most anything they wish to discuss.

The forums appear to be fairly busy and there’s a good sized member base. I’m sure that if you were looking for information on how to speed up your internet connection or even how to hook it up yourself you would be able to find some on the forums to talk you through it or to give you good advice.

Comment on Watching House and you could win $500

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

I just discovered that 451press is having a contest. One of my other blogs is located on the 451press network. It’s called Watching House and it’s all about the hit television show House M.D.. I also dish about Hugh Laurie and the other stars of the show on the site too.

It would be great to get some more visitors and some regular readers for my newest blog, and now 451press has created a contest that will help me, and all the other bloggers on the 451press network gain some readers.

Stop by and leave a quality comment on Watching House or any of the other 451press blogs, and for each comment that you leave that adds to the sites content or contributes to the article you will receive an entry to win the grand prize of $500.

The 451press Comment Contest will be held from now until January 31st, and at the end of the contest a random draw will take place and 6 prizes will be awarded. 1 for $500 and 5 more for $100 each. Nice eh? I bet you could use that money right after the expense of the holidays.

Visit the 451press blog for complete contest rules. BTW that’s the only site on 451press where you comments won’t count as entries for the contest.
