Too much to do

July 31, 2007 by Tricia

It’s twenty to eight and I should probably make dinner but I’m just not hungry. I hate it when I’m not feeling well. I don’t sleep and I don’t eat properly and I’m certain all that adds up into making me feel worse.

I’m writing this down here because I want to keep track of cycle that I think is happening. I have one pain medication in the form of a patch. I put it on and it stays on for three days. I think that on the third day it’s not doing much for me at all and those are the days that I tend to feel the worst. Yesterday was a third day day. Of course if my theory is correct I should be feeling great today, but that’s not the case. I only feel a little better than I did yesterday. Hmmm …

I’m also trying to finish up my blogging – no hope of that! I’ve sites I haven’t even touched yet today! – so that I can get outside in the heat and water my garden. If Chris wasn’t working an evening shift at least I’d be able to ask him to water by hand or set up the sprinkler.

I’m certainly not looking forward to going outside. Not at all. It’s 31 Celsius with a humidity factor bringing it to 37 C outside right now. That’s 98.6 F. Yuck. An hour ago the humidity brought it to 39 C (102.2 F). I hope it’s a little cooler by the time I get outside to water my parched garden.

You ever have those days when you feel bleh and just can’t get things done?

Tiny blossoms

Milkweed flowers

I have a few types of Milkweed growing in my garden. One is a hybrid ornamental Milkweed called Butterfly Weed, and then there’s this one. I think this might be one that’s native to Canada but it’s growing where I had a tropical milkweed growing a few years ago.

Certainly the tropical Milkweed shouldn’t have survived. Perhaps it reverted to a hardier version. Either way, it’s quite pretty and it’s very large! This milkweed grows to at least five feet tall if not taller.

It’s just beginning to flower as you can see from the photograph above which is a mix of buds and tiny flowers.

The butterflies are certainly loving the milkweed that I grow as well as the petunias, the hosta flowers and the honey suckle vines. I’m sure there are other plants in my garden that they like but I see them most often around the three that I just mentioned.

Perhaps later today I’ll get some new photos of butterflies on flowers.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

How Canadian is that? A Moose! A Metal moose at that!

If you’ve been visiting my husband and I’s sites today you’ll notice that the photos are all from the same place. We went to an art show two weeks ago and we both loved the metal artwork the best.

Oh there was pottery, paintings, photographs (my nephew had a photo exhibit there!), sculptures, woodwork and many other types of art work but it was the metal artwork that fascinated us.

I think it was the moose that I saw first. Probably since it was the largest piece that the artist had at the show. It’s made out of a recovered oil tank.

I have a tiny front yard and this moose would take up the whole lawn area!

BTW sorry I’m late with my Photo Hunt photo!

I need a bath!

July 27, 2007 by Tricia

I used to enjoy taking long relaxing baths.

I don’t know when that stopped. It must be at least 10 years since I got out of the habit of having long relaxing baths.

Now don’t be getting the idea that I don’t wash or anything silly like that. I have showers.

I think I got into showers just because I’m always so busy so there’s just no time to take an hour to myself to soak in a bath, maybe one filled with dead sea salt or scented oils. I’m kind of hyperactive so it’s hard to stop myself from moving on to the next thing that needs to be done.

I think I will make some time for myself this weekend. For a change! Yep. I’ll set up a really nice bath and just soak and soak. I’ll get some interesting magazines or a good book and just stay in there until the water turns cold.

I’m actually looking forward to it.
