The Original Miss Piggy

November 22, 2006 by Tricia

Wordess Wednesday

1

I came across this photo and just about died! Do you remember Miss Piggy from Sesame Street or was it the Muppets … or both? Is she still on or not?

I’ve gotta get me a pair of those heart shaped glasses. Tres Chic.

I’d like to thank everyone that stopped what they were doing and went to vote for me in the 2006 Canadian Blog Awards. There are a lot of great blogs in the contest so I have no idea how I’ll do, but I’m thankful for all of the votes.

I’ll find out tomorrow if I made it into the top 5 for the Best Canadian Blog category. If I did, I’ll be asking for your help again when the second round of voting begins on Saturday Nov., 25th. I’ll let you know.

Lavender Dream

Yet another rose that I grow in my garden:

lavenderdream2

This is a beautiful small rose bush called Lavender Dream that I grow in my front flower bed. If I remember correctly it’s a floribunda.

The flowers are only about 1.5 inches in diameter and they bloom in clusters. So when the small bush is blooming it’s just covered in flowers. It blooms three or four times each season. Right now, since it’s cool outside it doesn’t have any blooms but it’s covered in rose hips.

Remarkably some of my roses are still blooming – Breath of Life, Scent-Sation, Just Joey, Fragrant Cloud, Graham Thomas, Sunsprite, Moulinex and on and on. Why they are blooming- I don’t know. Many of them have very few leaves left, while others still have most of their leaves.

Roses are strange beings.

Don’t forget to visit As the Garden Grows, there’s a new Green Thumb Sunday post there too!

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

“Oh man, jumping on this kitten’s belly is so fun! and I can’t believe how plush the fur is!” Boing, boing, boing … When I found that photo I just couldn’t resist putting it up today. Isn’t it cute?

Alright well how about a cat with a plush frog costume on? Is it my imagination or does the cats eyes look funny in this shot? They look kind of slanted don’t they?

If you are a participant of Saturday Photo Scavenger Hunt please feel free to leave a link. All other links will be removed. Oh yeah – Don’t link and run! That’s rude. A number of meme participants have been doing that lately and you know what- I remove your links too.

Ok well when Mr. Linky is back up and running you’ll be able to leave a link. Mr. Linky isn’t working for this post. So strange. Oh well. Sorry Folks.

13 things about Strange Search Terms on Feverishthoughts.com

1. The number one search term- every day! is a variation of males wearing female bathing suits. This is thanks to a post I wrote about an ex-boyfriend trying on my clothes and bathing suits when I wasn’t home.

2. In the second highest position – Hugh Laurie – I’ve written two posts about him (That’s HOUSE) with funny videos from his younger days and since then he’s become a regular search term on this site.

3. I guess that I’m not the only one that does weird or klutzy things since someone was searching for
weirdest things done and it brought them here.

4.Same for having pulled a muscle tongue – that’s something I’m proud of doing but it happened!

5. Perhaps a lot of people are lucky and don’t have the smallest bathroom in the world, but I do and that’s bringing people over here too.

I guess sometimes peoples searches actually bring them here for a worthwhile reason and they actually find posts that might help answer their questions:

6. how much for receive roaming text mine is expensive, how much do roaming charges cost you?

7. feverishthoughts.com – why not type it in the address bar instead of a search engine?

8. shoulder mri contrast blog – I don’t think they do MRI’s on blog’s shoulders but I’ll look into that for you.

9 having enteroclysis – yep been there, done that- not fun, but not all that bad either really.

10. how check a weak cable signal – call the cable guy!

11. Love gritting – Uh I have no idea what this is, but if it’s gritting or grating it ain’t love.

12. my rats wobbling ??? I have no idea how that term brought someone to this site.

13. choosing renters and strange noises in the house Renters and strange noise really do go together, I’ve lived through it; as do these- thong leotard pictures and guys turned into ladies. No comment necessary on that one!

And a bonus – what grows in the garden with neglect – now that’s an easy one to answer – WEEDS! LOL

White lions

Aren’t these the most magnificent creatures?

Our Toronto Metropolitan Zoo had a white lion or white tiger a few years ago. Yes I think it was a white tiger.

It was on loan from another zoo and I got to go and see it while it was here. It’s just amazing to see such rare animals, especially when you realize that albino or melanistic? animals often don’t survive long in the wild because they stand out far too much and are more easily picked off by predators. Of course a white lion or tiger would probably have better odds at surviving in the wild since they are major predators.

Do you go to your local zoo every now and then? I haven’t been to ours for two years or so, but in past years I’d always try to get to the zoo at least twice a year.
