I’m a post-a-holic – Stop me!

March 16, 2008 by Tricia

Oh my gosh. I think after this I’m going to turn off my laptop and not turn it back on again until sometime tomorrow.

I’ve done something like 22 or 24 posts today on many of my blogs and my fingers are about ready to fall off. My wrists too!

I’ve been in the kitchen for the last 45 minutes to an hour getting our late dinner ready. I made homemade spaghetti sauce and of course spaghetti. The sauce needs just a little longer to blend and then we’ll sit down for a very late meal.

It’s a good thing Chris has tomorrow off since he’s going to be up later than normal thanks to me being behind on dinner.

I’m just starving too!

So much for updating the WP version on all the Feverishthoughts blogs today huh? Tomorrow …

I have a fantastic post coming up for you. I’ll be auto-publishing it at 6 a.m. Try to remember to come back as it will be worth it. It’s something totally unbelievable!

Ok. I’m slowly backing away from the computer now …

He’s in a writing mood

March 16, 2008 by Tricia

Chris and I are still hoping to get out of the house with our puppy sometime today. Oh she’s been taken on walks but we want to go for a walk somewhere different. In fact, our dog trainer gave all of us an assignment which was to give our dogs a new experience this week. Ours was going to be going to the beach yesterday but that never happened.

We haven’t gone out yet because Chris is finally on a role writing some new posts for his blogs. He hasn’t had much time nor been that into writing about music, guitars or musicians lately and his blogs have suffered from a lack of posts as a result. Finally he’s been inspired to write though, so he’s busy preparing some posts that will go up over the week.

I’m filling my time by making new posts too of course. Did you see that last one I posted? The people in the village of Galaxida won’t need any skin lightening treatments today as I’m sure all that flour that they’re throwing around will lighten their skin just fine. LOL Take a look at the video if you have a moment.

It’s official – My brother-in-law is insane!

March 7, 2008 by Tricia

My brother in law is currently driving from Chicago through a massive snow storm to Brantford, Ontario.

This is the guy who’s afraid to fly so whenever he comes to the Toronto area he always drives. Last year when we drove to Chicago I think it took us close to 12 hours to get there and maybe 10.5 to get back. So during a snow storm that’s raging the whole way it will probably end up taking him 16 to 20 hours. Flying of course wouldn’t do him much good anyway if he would fly as I’m sure there’ll be a lot of cancellations over the next 24 hours. We’re expecting about 30 cm of snow!

Why is he risking getting into an accident?

Well … last weekend one of his best friends brother was murdered in Brantford. He was apparently stabbed by someone that lived in he and his wifes home while he slept. I likely met the man at some point in the past, but I can’t remember him, unfortunately.

The funeral was held earlier in this week. We didn’t go because 1. Chris had to work and 2. We’ve been having major ice storms here and driving from Toronto to Brantford there’s a really bad area (the Hamilton Mountain) and we always have major problems there during storms.

My brother-in-law is of course coming up to see his friend. His friend is not doing well and I’m sure he’s not up to having visitors, but it looks like Chris’ brother is insisting on coming to see him.

Now how is that family going to feel if my brother-in-law gets into a major accident and is injured or even killed?

I can fully understand why he wants to come back home and see his friend, but driving under these conditions when you don’t absolutely have to is just nuts.

Of course now that my brother in law is coming down Chris will feel compelled to drive through the raging storm later tonight or early tomorrow to see his brother and also visit with their old friend. Chris BTW doesn’t know the friend or his brother all that well, but I’m certain he’ll go because he’ll feel obligated since his brother came from such a distance to see a friend.

He’s snoring

March 7, 2008 by Tricia

I’m sitting in my living room watching TV and typing away on the laptop and I can hear a sound … it sounds like a motor it’s so regular … it’s my husband snoring!

It took me a while to figure out what the noise was, but that’s it. He’s snoring.

My husband has sleep apnea and he’s supposed to be wearing a cpap mask while he sleeps. He must have pulled it off again …

Sounds like there’s a bear upstairs. I’d better get him to put on his mask before he wakes up the dog!

What’s your favorite menswear style for women?

February 24, 2008 by Tricia

Have you ever noticed how great mens clothes look on some women?

Certainly some things, like mens shirts, feel much more comfortable and cozy to wear then a ladies fitted blouse. Come on admit it, I bet there’s few women reading this that haven’t thrown on one of their boyfriends or husbands shirts at least once.

My husbands actually shorter than me so I’m not in the habit of wearing his clothes. He, on the other hand, has been known to wear some of mine! No, no I know what your thinking – it’s not like that at all! … he’ll sometimes be lazy and grab one of my coats to put on or one of my sweaters or even my shoes when he’s got to go outside. He looks awfully silly in my puffy winter ski jacket or and he stretches my shoes with his wide feet when he wears them!

vest.jpg It’s not likely that I’ll ever wear any of his clothes, but I do like some menswear fashions that have made their way into female fashions. Take for example the womens vest. It’s obviously been converted from menswear. Womens vests are often tapered at the waist and contoured to fit our curves and can be very flattering when worn with a blouse and skirt or perhaps even some Denim stovepipes or dress pants. That would be a great outfit either for the office or for a casual night out depending upon which items you chose to wear with the vest.

That’s what I like about vests. They’re so versatile.

belt.jpg You’d of course need to accessorize your outfit. A womens western style belt and perhaps a studded purse would look great if you were wearing the vest with a pair of straight legged jeans.

I really like the belt that I’ve shown you above. It has a feminine pattern to it, but it still has a bit of it’s masculine roots. It’s a good thing that my purse is on the other side of the room as I have a strong urge to pull out my credit card and do a little online shopping!

When you think about it, a lot of womens fashions today originated as menswear. In a way we’ve all been wearing mens clothing and probably didn’t even realize it. Vests, jeans, shirts, womens suits, belts – what other types of clothing can you think of that were originally only for men?
