1000th post coming up soon!

May 18, 2007 by Tricia

I think I have five or so more posts to go and I’ll have published 1000 posts on this site! Yeah!

Isn’t that amazing? I started this blog on January 21st, 2006. When I first started writing I didn’t even create a post everyday, until I learned that to have a successful blog you had to post regularly and preferably at least once a day. Now I sometimes write 6 or more posts a day on this blog alone!

Considering that the average blogger only posts once a day or less it would take most of them two and a half to three plus years to get to their 1000th post. I expect that I’ll reach my 1000th post sometime later today!

How long have you been blogging and how many posts have you written?

Work from home? Live abroad

May 18, 2007 by Tricia

You know, due to my illness, I’ve been stuck at home for almost a year and a half now. Since I stopped getting sick pay from my workplace almost a year ago I’ve had to find a way to bring in some money so that we could continue to own our lovely home and pay all of our bills.

It’s been hard, but for those of you who have been reading this blog you know that I’ve managed to do quite well as far as creating an income that we can live off of through the internet. I’m at the point now that I think I’m actually making more than I did when I worked as an ER nurse.

I know that several of the people who read my blog have also found ways to make income from the internet. Either through creating their own businesses or doing work here and there for a multitude of internet related companies.

Have you ever thought of Living Abroad? I mean, if you are making a great income from work that you do through home, or your home based business there’s no reason that you can’t do it from any place in the world. Is there? Heck, if you choose to move to the right country you could even be making a tax free income and thus have even more money to live off of. This is beginning to sound more and more appealing isn’t it?

Where would you go if you decided to pack it all up and work from home?

I know that I’d probably enjoy living and working in an exotic location. Someplace that was fairly warm year round, and in my case it would also have to have a decent health care system since I have Crohn’s disease. Hmmm Maybe a country such as Australia or Belize would work for me.

Naturally if I were really going to pack up and move to an exotic local I’d likely end up having to buy a property abroad as well. At this point, we’d have to either sell the home we are living in now, or rent it out in order to do this, but it’s a thought isn’t it?

I’ve never been to visit Australia or Belize, but the thought of being able to work from home in one of those locations is very appealing. If we could manage it, I’d try to get a home close to the ocean and beach. Hey, since I work with my computer alone, I could perhaps even sit on the beach each day as I got my work done. Oh that’d be so nice.

I’d miss our Canadian Spring and Autumn because I love watching how the seasons change here, but I don’t think I’d miss our cold, cold winters all that much.

If you work from home, have an e-business, or have a dream of being able to work from home where would you want to live and why?

If the idea of living abroad and working from home is appealing you should visit the Living and Working Abroad Resource website that got me thinking of living in an exotic local. You’ll find articles discussing immigration laws, health care, advantages of living or retiring in other Countries and a whole lot more.

Do visit the site. It’s good to dream, and you never know, by reading the Living and Working Abroad Resource website you may find a way to make your dreams a reality.

Do you have what it takes to seduce a celebrity?

May 15, 2007 by Tricia

Are you a fan of Mirelly Taylor? If so, you could win a date with her in GoFish.com’s Seduce a Celeb contest!

If you’re interested in win a trip, a hotel stay and most of all a date with a beautiful celebrity go on over to Go Fish and watch some Free videos at GoFish.com. Watch Mirelly’s video where she’ll explain what you have to do to enter the contest and then do the three tasks which involves making three different videos and submit them as directed. The contest will run for the next 14 weeks.

That’s all you have to do to enter this interesting contest. By the way, did you know that since the viewing audience is able to fully participate in this online show that this is the first program of it’s kind? Yes there’s some television shows like American Idol where the viewing audience has a say in what’s happening in the show, but for this show audience members who chose to participate become part of the show through their video entries.

Now in case you don’t recognize the name Mirelly Taylor – she’s been seen on shows such as Las Vegas, Punk’d and Numb3rs, as well as in the movies Kiss Me Again and Serving Sara. She’s a rising star.

Whether you enter the contest or not you’ve got to check out the video entries! Some of them are really funny. Of course, if you want to stand out from the crowd you should submit a video that’s creative to say the least.

I think this sounds like a fun contest to enter and to watch. I’m sure there’ll be some great video submissions and I can’t wait to see some of them. Since this is a unique kind of contest it will be interesting to watch how it plays out. I wonder if they’ll have sequels? I hope they do a male celeb next. Yeah, I’m married, but I think Chris would let me go on a date with a celebrity just once.

All My Movies – DVD catalog program

May 14, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve been asked to do discuss the DVD catalog program All My Movies, and I think this would be a great program for anyone that has a large collection of DVD’s, CDs, VHS tapes and other forms of media that they’d like to keep track of an organize.

The program is a very easy to use DVD and Movie Catalog. Use the program to catalog details of your personal media collection. What I like about the program is that you don’t need to sit and spend hours filling out all the movies details for your catalog. Just give the program a little bit of information such as the movie title and it will automatically download all the details from the internet movie database. All My Movies is even Windows Vista compatible.

All My Movies isn’t just for English language films, it’s actually a multilingual organizer. It supports English, Greek, Russian, Dutch, Belorussian, French, Latvian, Serbian, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Spanish, Danish, Korean, Slovak, Chinese and German languages.

All my Movies supports additional internet movie databases with plugins for the All My Movies program, so you can use it to import details from many different internet movie databases. Want to know more about the various actors in your movie collection? You can look up actors birthdays, biographies and filmographies quickly and automatically.

If you have an extremely large collection you might be interested to know that you can add new DVDS and other media data into the program by using a UPC/EAN barcode. Just enter or scan the barcode numbers and all the information is added automatically.

You can save your collection to PDA’s and other mobile devices if you’d like. Heck, you an even play movies directly from the program so it can be used as a video playlister.

There are so many features I could go on – but if you think this program sounds like something that you could use, or that it might make a great gift for a friend or relative who has a great movie collection go to the site and read more about All My Movies features. You can take a look at screenshots of the software at work on the site too.

If you are migrating over from a competitors movie collector’s software you can get a 25% discount on your purchase.

If I was a horse you’d shoot me …

May 13, 2007 by Tricia

I really wanted to get around to all my Green Thumb Sunday participants today. I wanted to see what’s blooming in their gardens and weed the sites out that haven’t been participating in quite a while. I also wanted to visit some of the sites of people who participate in Photo Hunters and the Do Follow blogroll.

I had hoped to get into my garden for at least an hour to work on pruning and tidying the areas that I haven’t touched yet.

Most important of all I wanted and needed to redesign the theme for this blog – I’m tired of it, and I need to redesign it so I can put some ads up for the new network that I’ve been accepted into (my big deal!!), and to top it all off I wanted to re-design my husbands blog Guitar Licks too because it’s theme totally sucks and I’ve got a really cool theme to use for that site.

Forget mothers day. I’m not a mom. Chris’ family never got it together to do anything for his mom this weekend either so our Sunday was supposed to be free … for me to work …

I wasn’t able to do any of that today.

I think whatever my husbands been fighting since Friday got to me. Except since I have Crohn’s disease it hit my stomach hard and I’ve been in awful pain all day. Not to mention almost constantly feverish.

I feel horrid. I wasn’t able to eat much either. I tried to eat dinner but my abdomen really started to hurt once I got a bit of food down and I had to stop. I hope I’m not going into yet another flare. I’ve already been in a constant flare for more than two years – I don’t need it to peak again.

I’m so sick of this. I can’t make any plans. I can’t even rely on the small plans I make for myself because it always depends on how I’m feeling. This makes me feel useless.

I want to go to a big blogging convention in Las Vegas in November and I’m being asked already if I’m going and, honestly, I can’t say. All I can say is that I want to go. For all I know I’ll either be so sick I’ll be in the hospital at that time, or I might be feeling healthy for the first time in two years. I just don’t know.

Instead, on days like today I’m just lying on the couch, grimacing in pain. Watching TV to try to take my mind off of the hell my body is putting me through. At least I had the Survivor finale to watch this evening. Good going Earl!

If life’s a race I’m falling behind … and If I were a race horse people would be thinking about putting me down about now.
