Chris got the Job!

November 20, 2006 by Tricia

Remember I told you that my husband had applied to become an OR Recovery room attendant at the hospital that we both work at? We were supposed to hear last Monday if he got the job or not.

Even though there had been signs all along that he did get the job such as the schedule changing on his current position marking him as not available for the last two weeks of November, nobody called to officially say he got the job.

So last Tuesday, Chris frustrated with his Portering shifts being cut again this week (he only had one two hour shift on Wednesday!) went in to speak with the OR recovery room area director. She’d some how misplaced our phone number, but yes he had the job.

Chris starts on Monday!

He’ll be working 4 8 hour shifts per week, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm and when he’s fully trained he’ll be on call every second or third weekend.

We’re both very pleased since he’ll be working for a better boss, and he’ll have more hours. The job is probably a bit easier than what he was doing as a porter too so that’s a plus. Although Chris is a very hard worker, so I hope he doesn’t get bored.

Credit card search engine

November 19, 2006 by Tricia

Hey, I found a great site that you can use to search for Credit Cards. You can compare all kinds of credit cards, and credit card rates.

Even if you don’t have the best credit card rating the Credit Card Search Engine can help you find a suitable credit card. You can find every thing from Low Interest, Cash Back, Airline miles, Rewards, business, student and credit cards for bad credit. You can even apply safely and securely online. Try it out if you’re looking to get a new credit card.

I’m turning into a catfish

November 16, 2006 by Tricia

Wow, I debut in my second internet video EVER!

P is one of the best companies I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. Honest. I’m not just saying that. Almost ever week lately there’s been an opportunity to make a fun video of some kind. This week Ted, Aka Antonio the master impressionist, decided to challenge his bloggers to make a Catfish impression video that rivals his. Now his was really good. I’m not sure mine is quite up there with his, but it’s pretty good.

The other reason why I’m enjoying P is because it’s getting me to do things that in all my years on the internet I’ve never done before and that’s – show my face! Not a big deal for most of you out there but I don’t even like having my picture taken, so actually showing myself in a video is a BIG deal.

So, here it is my impression of a catfish!

And to immortalize my embarrassing catfish impression I’ll give you a photo of it too:

My friend is moving boo hoo

November 16, 2006 by Tricia

Every once in a while I look through the house listings in my neighborhood.

I like to try to figure out how much our house is worth by looking at what kind of prices our neighbors homes are selling for. So far, in the five years that we’ve owned our home the price has more than doubled. Cool.

A nurse friend of mine just took a job in San Diego and she’s been busy looking for a home there so when she starts her job she’ll be ready to start and be settled with a new home. So she’s been cruising the listings of San Diego Homes for Sale frantically trying to find something that she likes. The company that just hired her is paying her a moving allowance and I think some fees towards getting her new home so she can probably get a bigger home or get one in a better area than she might have had to without their help.

I’m excited for her but I’m going to miss her. With her buying a house I think that means she’ll be gone for a number of years.

Chris’ hair is thinning

November 15, 2006 by Tricia

Chris is going to be going to New Jersey sometime in the next few months to visit some long lost extended family. Kind of a family history family reunion type of trip I suppose.

I started look up some information about New Jersey for him- trying to find some things to do while he’s there and I came across a place that perhaps he should visit. LOL

It’s a place that does hair transplants New Jersey. Yep, Chris is starting to get thin hair up top. Well at the back of his crown. Maybe it’s time for some hair plugs?

Nah, I’m sure he wouldn’t go for it but I like to bug him every now and then. Just for kicks of course. I really don’t care one way or another if his hair is thinning in some areas.
