Why do guys always want to get into my bathing suit?

July 11, 2006 by Tricia

It seems that men have always had some strange sort of fascination for my bathing suits, and a strong desire to get into them. Well some men anyway.

By in them, I literally mean IN them. Oh yes I do!

I remember back when I was dating this guy named Michael. We had an on again, off again kind of relationship. Actually he traveled around a lot because he was trying to start a music career so we sometimes went months without seeing each other, but he’d always show up again eventually.

I can’t remember what exactly I liked about him, but I do remember what I didn’t like. He was the kind of guy that would suggest going out to dinner or to a movie and never ended up having his wallet with him when it came time to pay the bill. Yeah, that kind.

One of the last times that I saw him he’d just come back into town, from God knows where, and ended up at my door sometime late in the evening. He had no place to stay and wanted to rekindle some of the old sparks I guess. I must have let him stay over and then went to work the next day, or else I went out for some reason and left him alone in my apartment, long enough for him to have started exploring and going through my drawers and closets.

Whatever the reason I was out, I did eventually come home. I found him in my bedroom. I walked in to say hello and to ask him what he was doing and I was greeted with the most unexpected display!

He was standing there dressed in one of my one piece bathing suits!

I was shocked!

He was fascinated, happy, and more than a little bit excited. I, however, wasn’t the least bit excited by the view of him prancing around in my bathing suit that was stretched to the limit on his muscular and hairy body.

Total turn off!

Then to top it off … he pulled out one of my skirts – a pink one, and put that on too while I stood in utter amazement unable to utter a word.

Needless to say the skirt didn’t do anything for me either. Perhaps another colour might have done the trick? … but no, a hot pink mini and a tight black bathing suit and hairy chest was just so not my thing.

As he was reaching for another one of my clothing items – another skirt, a dress, a piece of lingerie? I can’t remember now, I was attempting to get him out of my bedroom and out the door. I was successful in removing him from the premises.

To this day I have no idea if he was taking advantage of a secret indulgence to wear womens clothing while I was away, or if he had been planning to surprise me and hopefully get me turned on by the jaw dropping display of him in my swimwear.

The next time he showed up at my door, perhaps a year later, Chris answered. I believe Michael stayed for less than 5 minutes and has never been back since.

After that last meeting I was fairly certain that I would never encounter another man that wanted to get into my bathing suit again … well, at least in the wrong, the oh so very wrong, kind of way, that is.

That was not to be. I was the one who was wrong.

Saturday night, as I sat by the Hot tub tending my wounded knee and glaring at my husband frolicking around in the water in an alcohol induced euphoria, I decided to pull out my bikini to show the hot tubbers that I really had been prepared to join them this time round. The last time I ended up at a hot tub party was just under a month ago, only I didn’t know they had a hot tub, and coax as they might, nothing would induce me into getting into the tub that night and showing off my in need of a shave legs! See, If I’d known, I would have been ready … but no way was I baring my legs that night.

As I pulled out my purple bikini bottom and waved it in the air, my brother in law, who the hot tubbers had also been relentlessly trying to coax into the tub, declared that he’d be happy to borrow my bikini and get in.

I made that bikini disappear so fast you would have thought I’d waved a magic wand or did an “I dream of Jeanie” nod of my head. They were gone, never, never to be seen again by my brother-in-law!

Now, women in mens clothing? Sometimes that’s cute. However men in womens clothing is NOT cute, at least not if they are trying to turn on their girlfriend. Then again, they’ve come out with Manties now, so maybe I’m wrong about the whole guy wearing feminine clothing being a turn off for women?

What do the women say? Ever walked in and found your boyfriend or spouse trying on your more feminine clothing items? Turn on or turn off?

Men, don’t feel excluded, I’d love to hear your take on this topic too … any secret desires to wear your ladies bikini or lingerie? Speak up.

That monster bite me!

June 19, 2006 by Tricia

I’ve been mauled!

I haven’t been around for the last few days because I needed to get some work done in my very neglected garden. Naturally I decided to garden during a heat wave! Boy am I smart or what?

So I go out into my backyard to give all my plants some much needed love and attention and what do they do to me? They attacked me! Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! Literally.

The ringer leader was this thug of a rose called Antique 89. Some name on that girl huh? I think I’ll just call her monster from now on. I thought I could take her. Yeah, she’s seven feet tall, only a little more than a foot taller than me, but I’m smarter, or at least I thought I was when the battle began.

I chose to wrestle with the monster first because the wind had started to blow her over and she really needed to be straightened out. Turns out I was the one that got a straightening out. She was heavier than I expected and I ended up half underneath her before I knew what was happened.

That’s when the screaming started. She sank her gigantic thorns into my back, into my arms, hands and legs. The more I moved the more entangled I got. There was no winning this battle, or so I thought.

Some time during the eternity that I was fighting with this mother of a rose our boarder came outside looking for me. She didn’t find me. Hello? Roses don’t scream! That was me under neath that huge green thing in the corner that was making all the noise.

I finally shoved a few stakes in beside her thick stems and got untagged from her thorny branches. She was still leaning heavily on me and I’m sure blood was dripping on the ground below her leafy bows. I think I tired her out. I used my trusty garden tape to tie her to the stakes that I had surrounded her with so that she couldn’t harm anyone else.

Just then my husband came outside and said “Oh, I thought you were going to call me if you needed help?” He obviously didn’t hear my screams and the subsequent sobbing that occurred.

I went on to battle several other roses over the weekend and won those fights easily. Oh yes, they bit me, but after tangling with the monster I barely felt their thorns.

You see, my arms are on fire. My battle with the thorny monster was on Friday and still my arms are burning. I have at least 50 scratches from the tips of my fingers to just above my elbows on each arm. I look like I’ve been attacked by ten cats. I was wearing pants when I was struggling with the rose but she still managed to scratch up my legs pretty good. I’ll have to take a better look at those pants and see if there are holes in them now.

I’m going to have to stay on top of this gardening situation from now on, especially where Antique 89 is concerned. She’s tasted my blood, now there will be no stopping her if she’s given a small chance. Nope! I’m either going to have to cage her up to keep her from taking other victims or I’ll have to battle her wearing armor. Now isn’t that pretty picture? Particularly if it’s 100 F out! Whew!

And how was your weekend?

It’s Pointless!

June 4, 2006 by Tricia

I truly believe you guys are trying to drive me mad.  Do you know how much I stress over choosing a renter?  Every time I put my site up for rent I wait until the middle of the night before I torture myself with making a decision.  Of course, since I usually wait until at least 12 hours have passed from the time I started the rental offer I seem to end up with 10 + bidders each time. That makes it even harder. What makes it really bad is that I currently have two sites that I put up for rent so I put myself through this twice a week! Arggh.

15 bidder this time round!

I took my time rating each site that had made a bid, but when I saw Pointless Drivel I think I knew that I would ultimately pick the fabulous Mr. Fab to be my roomie this week.  Now lately, when faced with an overwhelming amount of bidders I’ve either chosen the site that bid first or whichever site appeared to be younger than the rest or in need of some promotion.  If I had done that this time round I certainly would have picked Evolution of Gina as it is the youngest site.  Gina and all the rest, please forgive me and bid again. I just had to go with one of my fav’s this week.  Sorry!

Pointless Drivel has quickly become one of my favorite sites to visit daily.  Why? Well because you just never know what the heck Mr. Fab might be talking about that day and you just have to know, that’s why.

His audio posts reading out his dramatic versions of popular songs are hilarious. As are his posts about his fascination with lemurs and by-products of lemurs, virtual sisters, co-workers, outings with his wife.  You name it, whatever is happening Mr. Fab has something interesting to say.  I won’t even go into his posts about his body parts (nipples for one!) or the ones about being a metro-sexual.  You’ll just have to find them and have a good laugh when you do.

Now to spread some love, if you have the time, after you’ve visited my newly chosen renter of course, why don’t you take some time and visit these wonderful sites:

Luka’s Incogbl0go – A personal site about the owners day to day life. One of the things that I like best about this site- other than the owner herself who seems to be a very nice person – is that she opens up her site to others on the last Friday of every month so that people can come on and write guest posts.  It’s a fantastic idea.

Modern Princess – A well written site that contains stories about the owners family life, kids, general observations and some absolutely fantastic sounding recipes.  Her latest post is a recipe for stuffed and roasted strawberries that sounds wonderful.  Oh they have chocolate in them, even better. Yum!

Adventures in Cyberia – Interesting site! The creator has built this site by creating alter egos of real life bl0ggers using sims2. It’s like a soap opera or day time drama.  Check it out.

Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green – Scooters currently renting on my other site Odd Planet right now. If I didn’t choose him for that site this week I probably would have picked him to rent here this time around.  He’s a persistent guy! Bids just about every time I tell ya. He does discuss popular television shows, Movies and new music on his site. He’s currently rating the best of Prince. I must admit that I think Prince is a talented artist so this was an interesting read for me.

Backyardigans Fan – Well, I have to admit, as a person without children, I had no idea what the backyardigans were until I looked at this site. If you are a parent with young children who enjoy the backyardigans or if you are a fan yourself then this site is for you as it’s everything backyardigan.

Utenzi – This popular site has great writing. Utenzi talks about life, day to day goings on, discusses products, software, movies – well a whole variety of things! It also appears that he’s a kayaker, which is something I’ve never tried, but since I love canoeing and whitewater rafting too he must be a good guy. He does wonderful write ups on his renters and some of his bidders too.  Seems like an all round great person and his site is a worthy read.

Green – Great site.  I’m still trying to figure out why it’s called green? She also has one called Purple. I enjoyed her recent rant post about people rubbernecking and gawping.  Yes that’s a word.  Go see!

Meltwater. Torrents. Meanderings. Delta. – For a guy who’s just injured himself badly and ended up separating his shoulder he’s sure pumping out the posts this week.  Must take him forever, but he’s doing it. Matt’s latest post is a beautiful photograph that you just have to see.  It’s breath taking. Matt’s site is another one that I read regularly. He writes on a wide range of topics from humor to nature, to observations about society. Always a good read.

Useless Advice from Useless Men – The useless men are at it again.  You have to visit this site. People write to them, asking them a question that they long for an answer to and the useless men give their advice, often with hilarious results. I love visiting this site as it always makes me laugh.

Just Jill – This site is new to me, although it appears to have been around for a while. I really enjoyed one of her recent posts where she talked about who she was 10 years ago and the changes that have taken place in life since that time. This site is worth keeping an eye on.

Long, Slow, Beautiful Dance – I like this site.  The posts are fresh and interesting. Laci was in a car accident earlier this week and now she’s lamenting about the joys of living without a car while hers is in the shop being fixed. Take a peek.

Evolution of Gina – This appears to be a brand new site started near the end of May. I’ve never seen Gina’s site before but I’m pretty sure that I’ll be going back for a visit now and then.  She’s living in a small town and making her way in life. She’s written a few poems and talks about her life and the people in it and of course discusses some of the joys of living in a small town.  Check it out.

The Invisible Bl0gger – This site is fairly new to me but it’s quickly gaining my attention.  I enjoy the writing style. This southern lady seems honest and puts herself out there for others to see who she really is.  She has a wonderful post about being from the south and it made me laugh. I think you’ll enjoy it too.

Dr. Wickidy – An entertaining site about the adventures of Dr. Wickidy in his wacky world. Each post is another adventure in the on going story of Dr. Wickidy.  Readers get to participate by voting on what might happen next. It’s a fun site that should make you laugh.

Va Va Voom and a way we go!

May 27, 2006 by Tricia

vavavoomheader

As I said recently on my other site I hate this part of the week. I dislike having to say no to so many people who bid to have a spot on my site each week.

I had an amazing 15 bids to choose from today. Just out of curiosity, why do you guys bid on my site? I know it’s not only because of the price. I charge 50 credits but I do work for them by making references to my new renter frequently. Is it because I have half decent stats in my past rentals history? Or because you get permanent links on my site as a bidder and the chosen renter? Just wonderin’.

I had almost decided to pick the new option to accept the first bidder, but I’m a little afraid of that option. I usually like most of the sites that put bids in, but what if the first bidder turned out to be a site I don’t like or that I would have a hard time thinking up things to promote them and get my readers to visit? With the luck I’ve been having this week that’s probably what would have happened.

After much thoughtful deliberation I’ve decided to go with Va Va Voom as my renter this week. I’ve admired her site since I first came across it. I love her writing style, and it turns out that she’s a wonderful artist. All the graphic images on her site have been created by Ms. Va Va Voom herself.

She’s recently discovered that she has a fascination with Big Butts. You should visit her and find out how she came across this recent discovery about herself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed when you visit her site. It’s lovely to look at and use and her writing style keeps you entertained and interested in reading more.

Amazing site!

I’d really appreciate it if my visitors would take some time to visit a few of the sites that put bids in this week.:

Recommended: Recommends interesting products and software that can be found on the net.

Useless Advice from Useless Men: Ask your question and the Useless Men will answer, often in a humorous way. In the latest post a reader wants to know if it’s better to be Hot and lacking in other areas, or smart and lacking in the Hot department. Check out their answer.

Winged Emotion: A site by a fellow Canadian. This site often has weekly contests, and in fact has one going on right now.

Life is Fresh: Appears to be a new site. This site has some great gardening and herb growing tips.

Long Slow beautiful Dance: She has a great rant about the lady who caused her to get into a car accident the other day. Producer chick also holds contests now and then.

Paranoia and other pleasant things: Check out the recent story about her experience with Pepsi Gold.

Winsome Gunning Art Walk: I enjoy the art work on this site. Such talent. Take some time to go through the pages and view the paintings.

Clusterfook: I enjoy her writing style. This great lady recently did a writing marathon to raise money for cancer research. How can you not admire someone who does something like that?

Musings of a Juggling Mother: Her most recent post talks about the irony of it being the first official Drought Order day in England, yet it’s raining and has been raining for days on end.

My Corner of the Web: Suzannes trying to find some writing ideas so she’s opened up her site to her readers. Ask her some questions and she’ll find the answers and write about them in her latest posts.

The Writer Jerry: I really enjoy Jerry’s writing on this site. Check out his latest post “Potty Mouth” regarding auto-flush toilets.

The thirty year old college idiot: Must be a brave lady! She’s submitted her site to IT2M. I’ve thought about doing that, but I’m not sure I’m that I want to hear their opinion.

One writer’s rambles: The personal blog of an aspiring fiction writer.

Scooter McGavin’s 9th Green: His latest posts are some great articles of popular television shows and new records by musicians.

And that’s all Folks!

Things that make me Shake in My Boots

May 18, 2006 by Tricia

Thirteen Things Tricia is afraid of

1…. Thunder! Yes, Thunder, not lightning. Well, yes, I do have a healthy fear of lightning, but why on earth do I want to crawl under the covers and hide my head when it thunders? My brother brought back a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog from Africa, back in the 80’s, and that dog was terrified of storms. I used to hide under the table with him!

2…. I was told that when I was a young child a motorcycle drove by and I went into hysterics over the sound. Perhaps that’s why thunder bothers me.
3…. If I could choose how I might die drowning wouldn’t even make the list. I’m not a strong swimmer, and the thought of sinking and not being able to get back up scares the heck out of me. I do however love canoeing and whitewater rafting. Go figure!
4…. I’m afraid of heights. Even standing on a chair bothers me.
5…. Even with my fear of heights, I find myself up on ladders more often than I’d like to be seeing as our house is in a constant state of renovation! Plus, I used to rock climb. I haven’t done that for years but I bet I still could.
6…. I don’t like bridges very much either. That’s probably a combination of the fear of heights and maybe even the fear of drowning thingy.

7…. Does a bridge make a loud noise when it falls down? If it does then bridges might also be on my thunder list. They do rumble when you are standing on one and a big truck drives on it. Are you following my logic or have I totally lost you?
8…. Fear of falling! Just take a look at what happened to me a month and a half ago to know why I fear falling. Oh my chin and jaw!
9…. Hey I’m a klutz. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, so it’s only natural that I fear personal injury due to my klutziness!
10…. Speaking of being a klutz, and injury, I just burned the top of my right index finger and the bottom of my left middle finger while trying to take a hot pizza off the pan. What can I say, the pan slipped, I grabbed it. Stupid!
11…. Fear of fire. When I was 5 our old farmhouse cottage burned down with my brother inside of it. I remember standing outside with my mother and grandmother calling for my brother for what seemed like hours. Fortunately, unbeknown to us, my uncle had run into the house and rescued my brother shortly after the fire started.
12…. I fear for my husband. A year and a half ago he passed out at work, right at the triage station in Emergency. His ecg was altered, so they thought he had a rare sudden death heart arrhythmia called Brugada Syndrome. He was thoroughly tested, something like what they did on HOUSE last night, and they weren’t able to find any problems. But, his ecg is still altered and he still feels faint and shaky at times and when he does I worry over him. He’s too young to die, we have a lot to do yet.
13…. Pain. I fear pain. I have constant chronic pain in my abdomen and it always gets worse at night, worse if I lie down. So I don’t sleep, and when I don’t sleep I have more pain. Ow.

So Am I a wuss or what? I think most of my fears have a rational basis, but maybe I’m wrong. What do you think? Do you have any fears?

** Update** From some of the comments I think some people think I’m sitting here living in fear. Nope! I’m not. I’m not quaking in fear all day everyday. This list is for fun. Everybody has fears, I’m just opening up and listing a few of mine.

Oh and please check out my Wordless Wednesday post below as well! Thanks!
