Might take a break

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

I’m still feeling totally awful. I can’t believe it. I’ve gotten into a bad sleep cycle and I’m sleeping during the day because my pain is keeping me up at night. I’m sure that this isn’t helping at all.

I feel so dragged out and I’ve got a pain in my abdomen that’s been relentless for the last three days or so. It’s a cross between a fist and a knife jabbing my right side.

I feel exhausted but I can’t sleep. I mentioned in an earlier post that maybe I could help myself get better if I just knocked myself out for a few days. That idea has become more and more appealing.

I think I might just do the bare minimum of blogging over the next few days, so if you don’t hear from me after you’ve written to me with a question please don’t think I’m ignoring you. I just need to try to rest and to try to feel better.

India’s broadband forum

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

My readers from India might be interested in learning about the India broadband forum. I’ve just been to visit it and I can tell you that if you are looking for information on any many of the top broadband internet services in India this would be a great forum to go to in order to learn more about your ISP.

There are a number of forum categories ranging from ones that discuss specific Indian broadband ISP’s such as Airtel Broadband, one of the leading broadband providers in India, and Reliance Broadband – another popular ISP both discussed in the DSL forum, to other forum topics such as Cable Internet services, general discussions, News and Views, Computer Technology and of course a General forum where members can talk about most anything they wish to discuss.

The forums appear to be fairly busy and there’s a good sized member base. I’m sure that if you were looking for information on how to speed up your internet connection or even how to hook it up yourself you would be able to find some on the forums to talk you through it or to give you good advice.

My friend opened a gym

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

One of the nurses that I used to work with in the pain clinic, many years ago, used to work three jobs. She worked at our clinic three days a week, at another clinic the other two, and every single day she taught aerobics and other classes in various gyms around the city. She was just a ball of energy, and she still is! She actually left the pain clinic that we worked in together just before I did, and when I started working in the hospital that I’m currently employed at, who should I run into but my old friend.

I think it was 1999, or 2000, when we still worked together at the pain clinic, that she began to talk about training for a new fitness training course. The course she was taking was a mix of boxing and kick boxing. I know she traveled out of the Country to do her training and I believe that she went to the original creator of this new form of exercise, Dean Lister, who first opened his fitness club in 1998. Dean Listers first club was called The boxing Club and I’ve just learned that it’s been expanding nationally throughout the US.

My nursing friend is still going strong with her courses and I’ve just learned that she’s opening her second gym now too. It’s interesting to think that she got her start with Dean Listers newly created fitness regime.

When I start to feel better I’m going to get in touch with my friend and see if I can join her new gym. She’s an excellent fitness trainer and I’d trust her advice. Since movement these days pretty much causes pain in my abdomen I’d have to start off with gentle exercises but I’m sure with her knowledge I’d get back into getting into shape without hurting myself or causing my tummy to hurt more.

Comment on Watching House and you could win $500

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

I just discovered that 451press is having a contest. One of my other blogs is located on the 451press network. It’s called Watching House and it’s all about the hit television show House M.D.. I also dish about Hugh Laurie and the other stars of the show on the site too.

It would be great to get some more visitors and some regular readers for my newest blog, and now 451press has created a contest that will help me, and all the other bloggers on the 451press network gain some readers.

Stop by and leave a quality comment on Watching House or any of the other 451press blogs, and for each comment that you leave that adds to the sites content or contributes to the article you will receive an entry to win the grand prize of $500.

The 451press Comment Contest will be held from now until January 31st, and at the end of the contest a random draw will take place and 6 prizes will be awarded. 1 for $500 and 5 more for $100 each. Nice eh? I bet you could use that money right after the expense of the holidays.

Visit the 451press blog for complete contest rules. BTW that’s the only site on 451press where you comments won’t count as entries for the contest.

Send large files to your clients with Ease

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

As some of you may know I’m in the process of setting up a website design blog. I’m almost ready to reveal this site to the world. However, even though my own site is not ready to show you I must tell you that I’ve been working behind the scenes on some of your favorite bloggers websites. Take Mr. Fabulous for example at his site Pointless Drivel. I’ve done some work for that site, and I’m working on another one of his sites too. I’ve had some delays lately and he’s been very patient with me, thankfully. I am happy to tell you, and him, that work on his newest site will be complete within the next few days.

I’ve actually been doing graphic arts and photography for close to 12 years now. Most of the work that I’ve done in the past has been free of charge, but alas, I must earn some money at some point so please watch for my new sites announcement. Check out my photography blog Breath of Life for examples of my photography.

The work that I do involves a lot of graphics and that of course means working with files that are of a very large size. I send them back and forth to my clients for approval before I finalize them and make them a more manageable size for their websites.

I’ve come across a site that might make it easier for my clients to view and as a result approve the work that I’m doing for them. The site is called Send This File and it allows people that typically need to send large files to clients the ability to send large files with ease.

The site is super easy to use. Just register for a free account. Upload some of your files, then select an address for the person that you’d like to send the file to, select the file(s) that you’d like to send, and then click the send this file button. The recipient will receive an email with a link to the file in their email. The person can then download the file onto their computer with ease from the Send This file site.

The free account offers members – Unlimited files size, no limit on monthly uploads, shared bandwidth and storage space, your recipients have three days to pick up files you’ve sent them, Up to three downloads per file, and when a file can’t be delivered an email is sent to the sender to notify them of the problem, plus a few more helpful features.

Members who decide to purchase an account will have a choice of four paid packages ranging from a lite plan for the individual user all the way to the Enterprise plan which I presume would be best for businesses.

The paid plans include all of the features of the free accounts plus unrestricted bandwidth, unlimited storage space, 6 day pick up time, unlimited downloads on each file, 128-bit SSL encryption, and priority response via chat or email when the member needs help with the system or their account, plus many more features.

If you find that you send large files on a regular basis, or would like to have the ability to send even larger files please consider visiting Send this file to see what they have to offer.
