Green with envy

December 1, 2006 by Tricia

Oh my gosh! I’m so jealous! Do you remember I told you that a friend of mine, a nurse, had moved to California to take a job there? She just sent me photos of her new home! It’s fantastic, four bedrooms, a pool in the backyard with a nice garden, a huge kitchen. I must go and visit her soon.

She also told me that her broker with real estate La Jolla was great, putting up with her indecision over homes and taking her out almost every day to show her homes that fit into what she was looking for. Our real estate agent was like that too and we even became friends after spending so much time together looking at houses.

Oh I am so going to visit my friend in the new year. Her new house has a great view and she’s near the beach. Ah, what I wouldn’t do for a great Californian holiday right now.

Cash back for shopping online

December 1, 2006 by Tricia

I just came across yet another site that offers cash back to consumers when they make purchases online. It sounds like a great idea. Now if I just had some money to spend so that I could get some cash back. LOL

Ebates has even been discussed on CNN and has been called a “No-Brainer”. There are more than 800 name brand stores for you to shop from. Stores such as Circuit City, Office Depot, Barnes & Noble, and Target plus many more. You must become a registered member in order to use the Ebates site but it’s completely free as there is no cost for membership.

The site is an online shopping portal, where members save at least 5% on each purchase they make at participating online stores. They can even save up to 25% at some stores. Savy shoppers can browse through the stores and find the best deals with the latest online coupons. The next time that I need to do some online shopping I’ll be visiting Ebates and hopefully I’ll get lucky and find some of the 25% of deals.

Working on new blogs

November 30, 2006 by Tricia

Did I tell you that I’ve been slowly working on creating three new blogs? Yes that’s right folks, soon I will officially have 8 blogs … oh actually 9 but the 9th one is for a separate post.

One of the new sites is going to be my husbands. At this point it’s called Guitar Licks. He’s going to write about music, musicians and I suppose the various types of guitars. He’s also trying to think of a way to teach guitar online, so the site will probably have guitar tabs and possibly video of him teaching parts of songs. Maybe he’ll take requests if there’s a song that you want to learn?

Another blog that I’ve decided to create is a celebrity blog. At the moment it’s tentatively named Celebrity Scoop but I might change the name. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. I’ve found that I like reading about all the crazy thing celebrities end up doing and I thought, why not write about it? So I’m creating a site that will hopefully have fairly up to date news on celebrity sitings and happenings. I’m sure I’ll have lots of stories about which celebs are feuding or causing scenes at the latest hot spots. I’ll probably have updates on celeb cosmetic surgeries too as in “who just had nose surgery” or breast augmentation? Will any of my readers be interested in visiting a celebrity blog written by me?

The final blog is going to be a combination of internet tips, “how to” articles, nifty techno gadgets and will be a front for my web design and site repair business that I suppose I can say that I’ve just started this month. I hope that some of you might end up wanting my services. I haven’t set any prices just yet but they will be reasonable.

I’m currently working on 4 blogs for a good friend and he’s officially my first client. So I’m working on his sites, and working on my own – mostly his right now. Busy busy!

It’s a rainy day

November 30, 2006 by Tricia

I’d love to say rain rain go away, come again another day … but it hasn’t really rained here much for a while so I guess it’s ok that it’s raining. It’s kind of depressing though. It was dark and gloomy all day, and by 4:30 in the afternoon I was turning the lights on in the room that I was in.

I haven’t uploaded the photo to my computer yet, but I took a really nice photo of the rain drops against the glass of our bedroom window earlier. I’m certain that it’s going to turn out really nice.

I would have taken the photo from our enclosed front porch but when I went out there at about 2 pm this afternoon the inside glass was all fogged up. Could it have still been fogged up from when Chris was out there at 9:30 this morning putting on his shoes and leaving for work? I don’t think so. I think maybe someone ducked onto our enclosed porch to get out of the rain and fogged up the room with their moist breath. Strange.

Have you purchased items online for your pets?

November 30, 2006 by Tricia

A few years ago I tried a service that let me purchase my groceries online. It came in very handy when I was busy – working long hours and with other commitments that I had to make. Who had time to go to the grocery store? I didn’t use the service for long though because I found that I preferred to pick out my own produce. The canned, dried and packaged goods were fine, but the produce wasn’t always items that would have been my first choice.

The reason I’m bringing this up is because I just found a site that offers online pet supplies. If I had a dog or cat I might use a service like this- particularly because most of the items for dogs, cats and other pets are already prepackaged so it’s not like one item is better or riper than the other as was my experience with online grocery shopping.

I know that a lot of my visitors have dogs and cats so I thought you might be interested in hearing about Vetsnab. Their pet supply items are competitively priced, and you can get many of the same items that you would normally purchase from your veterinarians office or a store. You can purchase, pet vitamins, pet supplements, pet medications, pet accessories, pet nutritional products, and pet toys. All of the products are made by well known companies such as Pfizer, Nutramax, Merial and others.

Do any of you use companies such as Vetsnab to get pet supplies online? I just remembered that I have used an online pet supply company in the past. I purchased special UVB bulbs for my reptiles.
