Chris’ hair is thinning

November 15, 2006 by Tricia

Chris is going to be going to New Jersey sometime in the next few months to visit some long lost extended family. Kind of a family history family reunion type of trip I suppose.

I started look up some information about New Jersey for him- trying to find some things to do while he’s there and I came across a place that perhaps he should visit. LOL

It’s a place that does hair transplants New Jersey. Yep, Chris is starting to get thin hair up top. Well at the back of his crown. Maybe it’s time for some hair plugs?

Nah, I’m sure he wouldn’t go for it but I like to bug him every now and then. Just for kicks of course. I really don’t care one way or another if his hair is thinning in some areas.

Cosmetic Nurse specialists performing proceedures

November 12, 2006 by Tricia

I was just browsing through my saved links from my days as a Cosmetic surgery nurse and I visited the Albany Plastic Surgery site and I was reading that, in their satellite facility in Saratoga Springs, they have Cosmetic Nurse specialists performing some of the minimally invasive facial rejuvenation procedures such as Botox injections, Restylane, Radiesse, physician strength facial peels, laser treatments and skin rejuvenation programs.

All of the treatments that I’ve listed above were ones that the Plastic surgeon, whom I used to work for, was going to teach me.

He had even gone so far as to partner with a female doctor that did laser hair removal and laser skin treatments to handle some of his business while the clinic was still in it’s early days, and he was going to eventually get laser equipment in his facility and I would have learned how to operate it.

I keep looking back and wondering at all of the great experience I would have gained if I’d worked there just for a little while longer. *sigh*

Going over old bookmarks

November 10, 2006 by Tricia

Thinking about what could have been …

I keep thinking about the plastic surgeon that I worked for a few years ago. I helped him start his clinic and he’d offered me part of the profits once the clinic was on it’s feet. What would I be making now if I was still working there? I wonder about that sometime. Oh well I left for the job that I thought was better for me and that’s the way it is.

When I was preparing to take that job I was checking out all kinds of websites on the internet about plastic surgery, Plastic surgery nurses, I even joined the Association of plastic surgery nurses when I started my job. The doctor that I was working for paid for it as he wanted me to join and get as much info as possible to help both me and his clinic.

I still have my list of bookmarks of sites I viewed or even studied! One of them was Facial Plastic Surgery in Austin. It’s packed full of information about the different types of surgeries that are commonly performed. If you are a nurse as I am, or even if you are someone thinking about getting some cosmetic surgery done you might want to visit the site and do some reading.

Back to work soon I hope

November 10, 2006 by Tricia

I’m trying to think positively about going back to work. My next visit with the Occupational health doctor takes place December 15th. As with all of my other visits to the good doctor that will be when we decide if I’m off again for a month or more or if I’m finally ready to start working on moderated hours which will gradually increase until I’m back up to 12 hours a day. Ahhhh! Yeah- 3 different 12 hour shifts in four days- that was my usual schedule. No wonder I got sicker and sicker huh?

I think to motivate myself a little bit I might go shopping for some new Nursing Scrubs. Maybe I’ll get some colorful outfits. The patients I care for usually like the uniforms that I wear to work because I like bright colors. Now normally, in my day to day life I don’t wear really bright colors, but when I’m working in the ER I do. Why? I don’t know, but I know it makes the patients a little bit happier so that’s good enough for me.

While I’m looking perhaps I’ll find a lab coat or a suitable sweater to wear at work too. Sometimes it gets cold.

Would you get liposuction done?

November 8, 2006 by Tricia

Did I ever tell you that the cosmetic surgeon that I worked for did liposuction? Guess who got to put the fat sucked out of people into bio hazard containers? Yeah me! Fun stuff huh?

I always felt more than a little bit sorry for the patients as they left the recovery room after their procedures. I knew they were going to be in some pain for a little while. However, when they’d come back in for follow up appointments you could really see how well the liposuction had worked for them.

I’m not sure that I would ever get this procedure done. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with it, it’s just not for me.

However I’m wondering how many of my readers have had this procedure done? Or if you are considering it? And if you have had liposuction did you like the results?
