You can save money at Deal Locker in as little as 6 seconds!

August 11, 2007 by Tricia

Want to know how you can save money in as little as six seconds? Visit Deal Locker. Just visit the site and type an item that you want to purchase into the search box and in seconds you’ll more than likely find a few free online coupons that you can use towards your purchase.

I’m fairly careful with our money. I’m not stingy, but I’ll spend time doing research on any pricey items that we’re thinking of buying and naturally I’m always on the lookout for the best price too.

The Deal Locker is different from other coupon sites that I’ve visited. You can actually sign up, it’s completely free, and add great coupon codes that you’ve found elsewhere in order to share with others.

All coupons listed on the Deal Locker have been rated by site members and they never list coupons that have already expired either so if you find a coupon for a store or a product that you’d like to purchase you’re pretty much guaranteed that the coupon will work for you.

I think that you can find coupons for just about anything that you might be looking for since the Deal Locker lists tens of thousands of coupons for thousands of stores.

As I said at the beginning you can use the search box on the main page to type in the name of a store or an item that you might want to search for coupons for, or you can click on the tabs at the top of the page to search for deals at specific stores or by category.

I’m going to be looking for a macro lens and a telescopic lens for my new SLR camera soon so I decided to take a look at what kind of coupons I might find at the Deal Locker.

I discovered that they have a Camera Coupons section with 24 different coupons listed right now. The coupons are for specific items such as camera batteries and other accessories and there are listing for Best Buy Coupons, Broadway Photo, Camera World and other stores that carry cameras and camera equipment.

I didn’t see any coupons specifically for camera lenses, but I’ll keep an eye on this site now that I know about it just in case some good deals come up. The camera lenses that I want to get are fairly expensive so if I can save some money I’ll be happy!

Visit the Deal Locker and see if they have any coupons that you can use.

My brother the baseball fanatic

August 10, 2007 by Tricia

My brother, the one that lives in the Toronto area, is a huge baseball fan. So much so that one of the first things he suggested for our family reunion that’s coming up at the end of August was that we all go to a baseball game. So yeah, we’re going to see a Blue Jays versus the Red Sox game on August 31st.

I’m not a huge baseball fan myself but I do prefer to watch it live rather than on TV. So our get together at the baseball game should be fun.

Anyway, back to my brother. He’s decided that he’s going to get world series tickets too. Oh did I mention his wife is also a huge baseball fan? Yes, they even went on a trip to Florida about 10 years ago just to visit Spring training camps. So I’m not surprised that they want to finally go and see the World Series.

Have you been to the World Series? If not – would you be interested in seeing a game if you could?

I can’t believe I got such a great camera

August 9, 2007 by Tricia

I’m so happy with my new camera! I think I’ve had the camera for about a month now and every time I take a photo with it I’m just amazed at how well they turn out. My other camera took great photos but it didn’t do so well with low light or night time conditions. My new SLR doesn’t seem to have a problem with low light – well provided that I make sure it’s at the correct settings.

I’m didn’t even read any digital camera articles before I bought my camera. Oh, I’d done some research on and off over the past year, but just prior to purchasing my camera I didn’t read any write ups about them. I just went to a few stores and tried the camera’s out. I checked all the settings and got a good feel for how each camera felt in my hands and ended up getting the Canon EOS 30D SLR Digital camera.

I’ve still got a lot to learn about my new camera and I definitely want to buy a macro and a telephoto lens for it, but I’m happy to putter with the accessories that the camera came with for now.

Do you love your camera?

Anglian Home improvements for UK home owners

August 7, 2007 by Tricia

Chris and I have been working on our own home renovation pretty much since the day we moved into our home 6 years ago. Frankly I’m getting tired of constantly being in a state of renovation and at the point where I’m almost ready to hire a company to finish what we’ve started.

If you happen to live in the UK and you are interested in renovating your home, or perhaps you’re like my husband and I and you’re ready to give up on your DIY home reno you might want to visit the Anglian Home improvements website.

Anglian has been in business for more than thirty six years and they have become renowned for their high quality home improvements.

Check out their Conservatory page to see the lovely work they’ve done creating conservatories in some of their past projects. They’re just lovely.

Anglian can help you with your home improvement project whether it’s a kitchen upgrade or a whole new door or front window. Visit their site and see what they can do for you.

The importance of search engine optimization

August 2, 2007 by Tricia

I read a lot of forums, blogs and websites and one thing that strikes me time and time again is how little most people know about natural search engine optimization. The real shocker for me is that it’s not always those who are new to being a website owner that seem to not know what SEO is, but people who have been blogging or maintaining sites for years.

I believe that search engine optimization begins with the purchase of your domain name. If you are writing a site about bikes it’s important to have the word bike in your domain name. The search engines will like that and might give your site a higher standing on search engine results. After all the whole point of optimizing our sites for search engines is so that people doing searches can find us easily.

If your your site comes up on page 10 of a Google search results page it’s unlikely that you’ll have many visitors. However if you consistently pick appropriate keywords for your sites articles, article titles, page titles, site titles and even domain names you’ll have a good chance that your site will be found on the first page of search engine results.

My sites tend to do well in search engine rankings because I try to use keywords in my articles that describe the topic I’m writing about and I also try to use a descriptive title for my posts.

I shake my head when I visit a blog and see a great article about a specific topic yet the title is some off the wall line like “Yaba daba do what a day!”.

If you really aren’t sure how to optimize your site for search engines you might want to hire a search engine optimization company to help you. They can take a look at your site and do a consultation. Perhaps they’ll give you a price quote that contains a list of what they’d do to optimize your site.

Many search engine optimization services such as the one I’ve linked to above, submitawebsite.com, have information about SEO techniques that you can begin to use on your own to better your standings on search engines.

As I said earlier a SEO company will also offer a number of SEO services that you might want to use to promote your site just as text link ads, optimizing your site for search engine placement, pay per click services and management and many other services that could help your site reach number one on in the search engine results.

If you don’t have time to optimize your site for search engines on your own do look into the services of a SEO company. It’s worth it if you want to boost your traffic.
