Shop and help a blogger at the same time

December 4, 2006 by Tricia

Are you getting your Christmas shopping done?

I haven’t started yet, and as a result of our situation, with me not working at all due to illness, our families know that we won’t be giving out gifts this year. We just can’t afford it.

What I’d like to ask my readers though, is that if you are shopping online, won’t you please click on my Amazon store link? The link is in the top left sidebar and it’s labeled Gifts, Gadgets, Books and More!. I mean, if by chance you are planning on shopping at Amazon, why not help out a fellow blogger and shop there through my link?

I’d be eternally grateful and I’d be happy to help you out in some way if I can in the future. As of Monday I’ll have been of work because of my Crohns for a whole year. I don’t have any sick pay or any other kind of money coming in now and all we have is Chris’ part time income. I hate asking for help, but as I said if you are shopping anyway, then this is a way that you could help me out very easily. I’ll only make a small commission off any products you purchase through my store links but every little bit helps.

If you are shopping but can’t find the perfect gift for a picky friend or loved one maybe you might want to have a look at Amazon gift certificates? I have a link for those too in my left sidebar. With a gift certificate your loved one can get the gift of their choosing and in the long run it will end being just what they want.

Thanks in advance if you are so kind as to help me out by buying a gift or something for the holidays through my Amazon store link.

Another one for the coupon hunters

December 4, 2006 by Tricia

I just came across another site that offers coupons for people to use while shopping at online stores. The company offering coupons is NCNaturals and they offer
Coupons for hundreds of well recognized stores on their site.

The site is very easy to use, just find a store that you are interested in shopping at such as Franklin Cove for example, browse through the coupon and savings offers, click on the coupon of our choice perhaps one offering free shipping or a 20% discount off of purchases and you’ll get a small pop up with the coupon code that you’ll need to use to get whatever the coupon has to offer. Just write down the coupon code, click ok on the small pop up and the NC Naturals site will forward you to the store that you had selected to shop at. Could it be any easier?

One thing that I like about this coupon site is that they update their offers daily, and they have offers from hundreds of online stores and merchants. Their visitors do save money by using the coupons.

Alright, I keep hearing about Omaha Steaks so I’m off to see what kind of coupons I can find and who knows maybe I’ll be eating great steak soon. Yum!

Drooling over luxury cars

December 4, 2006 by Tricia

Is there anybody else like me out there? Surely I can’t be the only one? Whenever a really nice car, I mean ones that you don’t see very often, ones that could be called exotic cars drives by my jaw just drops.

I know I’m a girl, I’m not supposed to feel that way about certain cars am I? But I do. I just stare when a Rolls Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Jaguar, Ferrari, Mercedes Benz, Shelby, Porsche, or Aston Martin passes by. Remember that photo that I put in a post, I think it was back in September of an Aston Martin that we saw while we were in Brantford? Yep, proof that I love fancy cars.

I’ve been lucky enough to have driven a Porche a few times, oh and a Jag and a benz but none of the other more exotic cars that make me drool. Someday though, maybe I’ll be able to afford one of these babies … at least a Lotus or a Porche right? Yeah, I’d like that.

Does anyone else drool when they see these kinds of cars? Have you been lucky enough to drive any of these car types? Tell me about it.

We have a scary basement

December 4, 2006 by Tricia

OMG I just came upstairs from our basement. I was looking for something down there and you know what? Our basement’s scary. We’ve lived in this house for five and a half years and uhm we still have a lot of unpacked boxes in the basement, a huge sectional couch from the apartment that we hope to use in the basement when we finish it, some furniture and items from my parents house that I inherited. Geez … we have so much stuff down there you can barely move. Forget about finding anything.

I think that whenever we do start to work on finishing the basement we’re going to have to clear everything out and use a storage company, probably this Self Storage Service. Moving.bz makes it really easy to find storage facilities in your local area. You can even rent storage units from some of the companies. It’s so easy in fact that all you have to do is enter you Zip code in the section that’s labeled “Find Self Storage”. Once you’ve listed your area code click the button and a new page will open that lists several storage companies in your immediate area. Check off the ones that interest you and then click the button in the bottom right that says “Quotes” and you’ll be taken to another page where you can enter your contact information and leave a comment with specific details of your storage needs. Just submit your request for free quotes and the companies will respond to you directly. It’s so easy.

Yes I think when the time comes we will put all that stuff in the basement in storage. It’s like a dungeon down there. I wish I’d taken a photo but it’s so dark even during the day time that you probably wouldn’t be able to make out much. Clutter is clutter – just imagine a cluttered (but not dirty) basement and that will be ours.
