Adorable new Spring line of baby clothes

March 25, 2007 by Tricia

Chris and I have been hoping to have a baby of our own for a long time now. Unfortunately my illness makes it a bit harder to become pregnant, but we are hoping that before the year is over that a baby might be on it’s way.

Since babies are on my mind these days I’ve been paying a little bit more attention to stores that sell baby clothing and accessories. One of the stores that I’ve bookmarked is called Baby CZ. I’m sure that a lot of the mothers who read my site will be interested in Baby CZ.

Baby CZ was founded and is managed by fashion designer Carolina Zapf. The store has built a great reputation and has become well known for it’s line of luxury baby clothing. In fact, they’ve just come out with their new Spring line and it’s on sale too!

The baby and children’s clothing lines that you’ll find at Baby CZ are well made using quality materials. I’ve gone through the site looking at many of the designs and I think the styles are just adorable. You’ll find everything from dresses, cardigans, jackets, blouses, accessories and more at this online store. They even have cashmere baby clothes!

If you have a baby or young child, or need to buy a gift for someone that does visit Baby CZ today.

Start an online store using Ashop

March 8, 2007 by Tricia

I know a number of people who have started full or part time businesses by selling their merchandise online. Some of these people are artists who make their own products and sell them via online stores, others purchase merchandise from wholesalers and sell them from their store – just like any walk in retail store would do.

It’s through my friends that I’ve learned the importance of having a reliable shopping cart system for an online store. A shopping cart has to be secure, it can’t cost too much to use, and if it’s a hosted system the host must offer reliable service. An online store who’s shopping cart is not working can’t do any business can they?

If you’re looking for an ecommerce solution check out Ashop as it’s easy to use, web based, secure, reliable, reasonably priced and has built a reputation over the years as being a great ecommerce solution for many types of online businesses. You can accept credit cards, and customize the design to suit your needs. Visit the Ashop site to try out a demo store and see for yourself how easy it is to use.

January 5, 2007 by Tricia

Do you like saving money and getting great deals? I know that I do. If you’re like me and enjoy finding a bargain then you should visit dealking.com. The site lists deals, discounts and even cash back offers on products purchased for 100’s on well known, name brand online stores.

To start saving money and get cash back on your purchases all you need to do is sign up for a free Deal King membership and then start shopping. Find a store or product you like and go to the site to purchase the product through the Dealking.com links to get your discounts or cash back deals. For example – I need some new clothes so I visited their Gap directory. In the Gap directory I found an offer that would get me 2% cashback on my Gap purchases. Dealking has other offers that are even better than that.

How did St. Nicholas become Santa Claus?

December 7, 2006 by Tricia

So what are you guys giving people for the holidays or Christmas? Do you give gifts to you coworkers or if you are the boss to your employees or good clients? Back when I had my own business in the jewelry trade I used to receive more gifts than I could handle. Everything from boxes of chocolates to wines and liquors. It was the gift baskets that I really enjoyed getting the most though and that’s what I also usually gave to my clients that gave me the most business throughout the whole year.

Just how did the whole tradition of giving gifts and holiday gift baskets begin anyway? Well, it all started with the kindly Christian saint Bishop Nicholas. Somehow it was him that ended up being the model for our now red suited Santa Claus in North America.

It was actually the first Europeans that arrived in the new world that brought the idea of St. Nicholas with them. The idea of St. Nic didn’t quite take at first though as early 16th century Protestant reformists took a dim view of saints. They tried to stamp out St. Nicholas related customs but didn’t have much luck. Over in England St. Nicholas was busy changing Christmas traditions as St. Nic was beloved by the English commoners.

It wasn’t until sometime after the American Revolution that New Yorkers remembered the colonies near forgotten Dutch roots. A New York Historical society was founded by John Pintard in 1804, and it promoted St. Nicholas as the patron saint of Society and city. In 1809 the satirical story known as Knickerbocker’s History of New York was published by Washington Irving, a newly joined member of the society. Within that novel there were a number of references to St. Nicholas as a jolly character. He was no longer a saintly bishop, now he was an Elfin character of Dutch decent with a clay pipe! Irvings work was noted as the first work of imagination in the New World.

The first St. Nicholas Day was held on December 6th, 1810, and the first American image of St. Nicholas was created by Alexander Anderson. Nicholas was portrayed giving gifts to to children by putting treats in stockings hung over the fireplace. In 1823 a poem written with the title “A visit from St. Nicholas” later became what we know today as “The night before Christmas”.

Now you can be your very own St. Nicholas by giving a quality crafted gift basket full of gourmet treats to your colleagues, clients, housewarmings and as holiday gifts. Custom wrapping is available for holiday gift baskets just tell the folks at Gourmet Gift Baskets what you’re looking for and they do something to fit your needs.
