Why does your kid close their browser all the time?

December 27, 2006 by Tricia

Have you ever walked into a room where your child is sitting at the computer and noticed that they suddenly shut down their browser or minimized it as you approached? I bet that’s happened. Heck it might even happen on occasion with your spouse too!

What would you think if I told you that SpectorSoft, has produced a software that would let you know what types of things your child has been looking at when they are on the computer? Doesn’t that sound like a great form of computer monitoring? Kids know all kinds of way to get around “parental” software that blocks them from viewing sites, but if you had software on your computer that monitored their keystrokes you’d be able to tell what types of things they talked about online during IM conversations – and you’d be able to make sure that they weren’t talking to someone that they shouldn’t be talking to, such as an adult pretending to be a teen. The monitoring program also lists the sites that are visited. If you discovered that your child was going to sites that you disapproved of, then you could use your parental software to block those sites.

Software, such as SpectorSofts, Keystroke monitoring software could give you peace of mind if you are worried about what your children are doing on the computer and it can help you keep them safe.

I love it when I can save money

December 26, 2006 by Tricia

I just love getting discounts at my favorite stores – whether they be ones I drive to, or ones that I point my browser at.

One site that I enjoy visiting online is the Coupon Chief. They always have great coupons and promo codes for items at brand name well known stores. For example, I was looking at their Linens ‘n Things coupon codes and I noticed that right now they have a coupon for 50% off flannel bedding and $40 of cookware.

I think I’m going to browse through the coupon savings for that store for a while. I love that store and if I could save money when I make my purchases great!

Keep your kids safe by using a keystroke recorder

December 23, 2006 by Tricia

Have you ever wondered just what your kids are doing on their computers when they are in their rooms with the door closed … or maybe when they are home before you get home to monitor their computer use? Maybe you even wonder what your spouse does on the computer?

Now I don’t want to bring up anti-trust issues but sometimes there is a need to know what’s going on in your own home. You might want to keep track of the sites your kids visit for their own good. They could be talking with strangers on Myspace or other sites that want to do them harm.

This is where a software device called the keystroke recorder comes in handy. You can track everything from every thing input into a keyboard- emails, things filled out on websites, or even passwords, and you can see what sites were visited as well. If you are interested in learning more visit the Spectorsoft site and read all about their keystroke recorder.

Deja Vu Telephone call

December 21, 2006 by Tricia

I got up yesterday and discovered that my brother had called me while I’d been sleeping. I must have been sleeping so deeply that I didn’t even hear the phone ring, or if I did I certainly don’t remember it!

Anyway, I tried calling him back at work, but I didn’t get him, so I left a message. So while I was upstairs preparing for the day – showering, fixing my hair etc I brought the phone into the washroom with me. No I don’t talk to people on the phone while I’m doing my business … I just wanted it near by because I figured my brother would call back.

So I’m putting on my face – I had a doctors appointment later that day, gotta look good for that you know- and the phone rings. I look at the call display and I see “Stylistic Engraving”. Wow, that’s a flashback to the past from when I was a jeweler. Stylistic Engraving was my number one competitor when I was a diamond cutter. So I answer the phone by saying hello and I hear:

“I need you to engrave two rings rush, can you do it?”

So I said … uhm are you calling E … I say the name of my sisters engraving company, and she says yes. So I tell the lady that she’s reached E’s sister – AT HOME. LOL

I have no idea how she got my phone number or why she would call it. I suppose it must be listed in her book near my sisters business number but that still doesn’t explain why she’s got my home number. Now, while they were my business rivals we were friendly, and my husband did work for them when he was a jeweller as well. In fact Chris probably knew them a lot better than I did. So maybe our number was written in Chris’ name? I don’t know, but it was weird.

I don’t know how many calls I answered when my sister and I had our businesses together that started with my Hello and their demanding a rush engraving, design or gold plating job. However, I haven’t heard a request like that for … oh .. I don’t know .. maybe 15 years!

Strange stuff!

The next call I got I didn’t answer. It was the Korean agency that has supplied us with Student Boarders. I told them back in October that we didn’t want to have any boarders in the house around Christmas time. Since then they’ve called us at least three times offering us a boarder. The last one they wanted us to take in was a 14 year old. No way. We’ve said we’re done with taking in anyone below the age of 25 or so … so I’m certainly not taking in a kid.

My brother on the other hand never did call back. He’ll probably call sometime today.

Is your boss late giving you reviews?

December 17, 2006 by Tricia

My old boss was always terribly late when she gave yearly updates. She was the most disorganized person I’ve ever seen in my life. If she was still my boss I give her a copy of this Performance Rev1ew Software that I just found. It’s fantastic. Well I think it would have been.

Anyone who is managing anywhere from a few or more people would find this software helpful as it helps a manager track, evaluate and control the behavior, performance and activities of their employees. Rather than keeping all the employee information in files or various systems, a manager could keep all of the information they need in one place on their computer. Just that alone would simplify things for most bosses.

What else can a manager do with this software? Well they could track employee attendance, tardiness, missed hours, absences, employee incidents, schedule employee training sessions and expenses, plus many many more things. Actually I think it sounds like this software could track or help you organize just about any kind of information regarding your employees that you’d want it to.
