Make money blogging about the things you love

April 3, 2007 by Tricia

Since the day I began working with the blog advertising company Pay/perp0st I’ve had pretty much nothing but praise for them. Regular readers of this site know that I’ve been stuck at home because of my illness and that I desperately needed to find a way to make some kind of income from home. I discovered them just at the right time in my life and since October I’ve managed to make literally thousands of dollars by writing the occasional post on three of my blogs.

Pay/perp0st started up in July of 2006 and each month they continue to grow. They now have 15,000+ bl0ggers working with them writing sp0nsored content on their blogs for all kinds of advertisers.

Small bloggers and big bloggers alike can do well by working with P. That’s right, even if you’ve only been blogging for a short period of time you can sign up for Pay/perp0st and start making some money. Of course your site must be at least three months old and it must have more than 20 posts with no gaps of 30 or more days in the last 90 day period in order to qualify.

Opportunities range from $5 per post to as much as $2,500. Yes, that’s right. The highest price post I’ve ever seen on Pay/perp0st has been for $2,500 and in fact I’m the lucky one who’s writing it now. My hands are shaking and numb as I type this post because I can’t believe that I qualified for this opportunity. I would of course have written a post like this for pay/perp0st absolutely free of charge because they’ve been an excellent company to work with and they treat their bloggers very well.

They are fairly responsive to their bloggers needs. The site is still in Beta so they add new features to the site regularly. Sometimes we praise them, and other times we complain loudly. They listen to what we say and try to make their site work well for both advertiser and bloggers.

If you site is newish and you don’t have a page rank yet – don’t worry. There are many advertisers out there who create opportunities for small blogs every day. Blogs that have achieved some page ra/nk and other forms of ra/nk can of course get paid quite well by some of the advertisers posting opportunities.

Another thing that I like about working with Pay/perp0st is that I can pick which opportunities that I’d like to write. In that way, I can often find opportunities that suit my blogs quite well, and provide my readers with new sites to visit and or shop at through the opportunities that I write about on my sites.

Won’t you come and join me at Pay/perp0st? You can write daily or monthly – it’s up to you, but no matter how often you choose to write I guarantee you one thing – you will make some extra money.

Update: Thank you so much for all the congrats on this post everyone. I’m still shocked!

Once a blogger always a blogger?

April 2, 2007 by Tricia

They say that when people first start blogging they sometimes hit a wall. Often new bloggers blog about blogging. If that wall stays up too long sometimes that’s all they blog about.

Well I’m certainly not a new blogger, but I am going to blog about blogging.

I’ve been thinking about how blogging has changed my life in so many ways since I started my first blog 14 months ago. I started blogging as an outlet, something to take up my time since I was starting to get bored with being stuck at home. Remember I’m only home because I have Crohn’s and haven’t improved enough yet to return to work.

Well, regular visitors to my sites know the rest of the story. One blog expanded into another, and then another and so on. At this point I probably have too many blogs! Oh well, it’s fun and it keeps me busy. It’s also turned out to be a great way to earn a living since I can’t earn a living any other way right now.

I’m not making as much each month as I did at my nursing job. Not yet anyway, but I can see it coming, probably within the next month.

I often wonder what would have happened if I’d started my first blog and then gone back to work a month or two later. Would I have kept blogging? Yes I think I would have.

Would I write seven blogs? No, probably not.

As a nurse I was working four 12 hour shifts in a row – two day shifts, one 11:30 to 11:30 and then a night shift. I’d have five days off but the first one I’d spend sleeping since I’d have just gotten off my night shift. So that left me four days to recover go from being a night owl to an early riser, get house work and other things done, maintain the garden, socialize, and do all my internet work – maintaining at least two large websites, moderating a reptile related forum, and running four mailing lists.

It’s possible that the gardening and photography blogs might have been in the picture by now had I gone back to work. I mean gardening, and the photography that goes hand in hand with it, has become a big part of my life in the last 6 years. I’m sure those sites would have arrived on the scene by now. Perhaps one of the tech blogs that I write as well since I do so much tech and design work.

I’m certain that I wouldn’t have had enough time in a day to have created the other blogs that I now write.

I guess now that I think about it, once I started blogging it just became something that I do. It would have evolved to some degree even if I had gone back to work before now.

How about you? How did you start blogging? Now that you have at least one blog do you think you’d ever stop blogging? Has it changed your life in anyway?

Obviously blogging has become a major source of income for me. It saved us! If I hadn’t found a way to earn a decent income from my blogs we could have been facing losing our house by now.

Use the power of the secret to build your wealth

March 30, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve been asked to write about a new how-to program called “The Secret Science of Getting Rich”. This new How-to program came about as a result of the hit movie “The Secret”.

The movie version of the Secret was promoted on the internet using a word of mouth marketing strategy. Through this promotion strategy the movie, best selling book and DVD hit number one on Alexa’s movers and shakers, and it also went to #1 on Amazon.com’s best selling book and DVD list within a very short time. Larry King, Oprah Winfrey and other well known talk shows have all featured information about The Secret as well.

The movie “The Secret” didn’t just do so well because of marketing. No, it did well because it’s basic principle was about helping people to improve their life by using various techniques to focus on the positive and the law of attraction. Millions of people want what The Secret promised. So the creators of the movie decided to offer a new “How-To” program called “The Secret Science of Getting Rich”.

This is a seminar and affiliate program that aims to teach you how to use build your own wealth using the step by step program that are discussed by the top teachers in the movie.

Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, Bob Proctor a creme-de-la cream success coach and Michael Beckwith a popular spiritual leader all come together to teach others how to use the laws of attractions to bring positive experiences into their lives and build their wealth.

Visit the Official Secret Seminar and Affiliate program site to learn more about this new “how-to” program. An investment of $1,995 will be required to participate, but it’s believed by those running this seminar that you will end up earning far more than you spend if you apply the techniques that you’ll be taught correctly.

DMG – Dedicated Hosting for your website

March 29, 2007 by Tricia

If you run a business, an online business I mean, or if you are simply a private individual with either a lot of websites or some very successful and popular websites you might find that there will come a time when you start to think about hosting your sites on a dedicate server. In fact, if your sites traffic levels are very high that might be one of your only commercial hosting options.

If you are thinking about hosting your website on a dedicated server think about using DMG Dedicated Servers. DMG is a dedicated hosting service provider.

I’ve looked through their site and looked them up on the internet and I must say that they have a lot of customers that are happy with the reliable service and the support that they have received when they’ve need assistance. It’s always good to know that others are saying good things on the net about a company when you are thinking of placing your sites on their servers.

DMG says that their customers are their most valuable asset – and I believe that any company that wants to succeed in business must feel that way. Without customers, particularly happy satisfied customers a company won’t last or grow.

DMG operates their own datacenter, in fact they own their own datacenter. Check out their site if you are interested in hosting your website on a dedicated server.

I should never make plans

March 26, 2007 by Tricia

Nothing seems to have gone as planned this weekend. In many ways that’s a bad thing, but in one aspect it turned out well.

The weather was actually fairly nice this weekend, although not as nice as it will be for most of the week. I’d been hoping to get out into the garden to clean it up a little bit and perhaps plant the bulbs that I purchased last fall and never got around to planting. Most of the bulbs survived but I’ve gotta plant them soon! I’d also hope to go out for a walk or two – maybe down to the beach that I showed you on Saturday.

Unfortunately I’ve continued to feel absolutely rotten all weekend. Not only has my stomach/abdomen continued to act up but on Saturday I woke up with an extremely sore throat, sore neck and sore knees. My shoulder joined the list on Sunday.

It’s my stomach that feel the worst thought. Sometimes I just wish I could reach into my abdomen and pull out the painful parts. Yeah I know that probably wouldn’t help, but it sure seems like a good idea when the pain is really bad.

The one good thing that happened over the weekend is that I managed to make a fair amount of money on Sunday. As you probably know I make most of my income off the internet … well all of it actually. Now while my ads continue to bring in some money each day, I usually don’t make much money from the other services that I use on the weekends. I did work for three different services that I work with on various sites that I own and made the most money in one day that I think I’ve ever made.

At least if I continue to feel ill this week, or end up feeling even worse, I know I made some money that I hadn’t been expecting to make over the weekend so if I need to take a day or two off I guess I can.

I just want to feel better though. The weather is starting to get so much nicer and I’d like to get outside. Even if I don’t manage to do much outside it would still be nice to maybe sit on my porch or wander through my garden for a short while.
