Work from home site has current listings to help you make money

February 12, 2007 by Tricia

As many of you know I’m pretty much working from home while I wait out my illness and hope to get well enough to return to work sometime in the future.

As a result of being dependent upon a “Work from Home” income I’ve been keeping an eye on any new opportunities, or sites that have information that can lead me towards better, and easier ways of making money from home.

That’s one reason why I wanted to take to you today about a new site that I’ve only just discovered called “Work From Home Facts”. Upon visiting the site you feel like the writer is talking to you. It had a warmth and openness to the site right from the first couple of paragraphs, unlike a site like therichjerk.com which did not appeal to me as much simply because of the style of writing.

The Work from Home Facts site is laid out in an easy to use manner. The left sidebar has listings for various categories of work one can do at home- from Home Employment (freelance writing etc), paid surveys, creating a home business, or writing articles for pay. There is a wide assortment of ideas, helpful tips and even listings to help you get started in the many work at home opportunities that are available. The site also promotes a couple of E-books that will teach you how to increase your earnings on the internet, but unlike many of the other work from home or make money on the internet sites that are out there these days, “Work from Home Facts” truly seems to try to help you get started.

I’ve bookmarked this site and I’m sure it will be one of the sites that I visit regularly for ideas, and to see what new work from home opportunities might be available to me.

I know that many of my readers are also interested in making some money while blogging or maintaining a website. Please visit the site and let me know what you think of it as well.

Photo Enthusiasts earn money with Shutterpoint

January 17, 2007 by Tricia

As many of you know I enjoy photography. In fact it’s become one of my greatest hobbies in the last year or two next to my gardening. I’ve actually been lucky with my hobbies and interests because they actually go together very nicely. Readers of my gardening blog have benefited from the combination of my two hobbies on many occasions.

Back in June I realized that I had quite a number of good photographs stored on my computer and that’s when I decide to create my photoblog – Breath of Life Photography. My photoblog has been well received and I’ve been told in the past that I should perhaps try to sell some of my photographs.

A few months ago I went looking for sites where I could sell my work it was at that time that I discovered www.shutterpoint.com. I didn’t become a member at that time though. I’ve been so busy with my blogs and doing some design work on the side that I actually forgot about Shutterpoint.

Shutterpoint is a fast growing stock photography service. Websites, blogs, companies and private individuals are always looking for photos to use on their sites or for commercial purposes. The site has many categories of photographs to browse through and all the photos are royalty free.

I think that this is a fantastic site for photographers – professional and enthusiasts, to promote their work, get feedback from other members through the rating system and forums, and to earn some money for their work.

Shutterpoint offers the highest payout to photographers for their photos on the internet. The payout rate is 85%. No other sites pay anything near this rate. Shutterpoint also goes a long way towards promoting your photos. Each photo you submit will also be listed on the Froogle3 online shopping search engine. Your online shutterpoint gallery can also be integrated into your website in order to promote your photos and increase the sale of your photos. Shutterpoint makes it easier for photographers to sell their work. This seems like a company that wants their members to succeed.

I’m seriously thinking of becoming a member of Shutterpoint. I could use this as another source of revenue if I’m able to sell any of my photographs, and it would also encourage me to improve the quality of my work as I get feedback from the site members. Through their feedback, and hopefully as my skills improve I’ll hopefully be able to sell more photos.

I know that many of my readers are interested in photography and that some are quite skilled at their hobby. That’s one reason why I wanted to post about Shutterpoint as I know that many of you might be interested selling photographs as a member of Shutterpoint.

I also know that a number of website designers read my blogs as well, and I’d like to remind you that when you are looking for photographs to use in your site designs Shutterpoint would be a great place to search for pictures that fit your designs. Actually, when I first found Shutterpoint a few months ago I was looking for sites where I could buy photos for my own designs, as well as sites where I could sell my photos.

I’m going to be joining Shutterpoint. I hope to see a few familiar names there when you sign up too.

Strange Amazon sales

January 3, 2007 by Tricia

Ok fess up!

I was just looking at my Amazon account, checking to see if anybody bought anything through my links, or my Amazon store this week and I was very surprised to see what I had sold.

Someone bought:

Grafco® Stainless Steel Graves Vaginal Speculum, Medium (4″ x ¼”)

Speculum

I guess a doctor, or maybe a midwife came through one of my sites and then visited Amazon and bought two speculums. I didn’t even know Amazon sold medical equipment let along those things!

Amazon really does sell everything.

I wonder if it was a Christmas present?

Earn money as a WingSix affiliate

January 2, 2007 by Tricia

You know that I’m always trying to figure out how to make money online. I have to since it’s my only form of income these days. Well I think I might have found a wonderful High Payout Affiliate Program. Honest. It’s the Wingsix Hosting affiliate program.

The Wingsix affiliate area says that it pays out a highly competitive commission for every sale referred to them – from three month hosting packages to yearly packages and reseller packages.

They apparently pay $75 for 1 – 8 transactions/sales, $85 for 9 – 15, and $100 for 16+ transactions. That’s good money and you know what? There hosting packages really are quite reasonable. The lowest price for hosting that I see is $6.95 per month and it comes with a lot of great features. Heck, I might switch over to them since my host keeps going down in the middle of the night.

Good advice found on Small business blog

December 31, 2006 by Tricia

Someone made a comment on one of my recent posts, I think it was my last Thursday Thirteen, that they’d love to find a way to make money at home. I agree, I’d also love to find a way to run a successful small business, preferably from my own home and make enough money to live on, if not more.

Well, the Small business blog may be able to help some of use with some ideas. One of their recent posts titled “Home based business Trends in 2007” lists a number of ideas for small businesses that I hadn’t even thought about.

I’ve only just started reading the blog but I can already see that it’s going to be an asset. I’m going to bookmark it and revisit it to read the latest posts. Some topics that I’ve found interesting and helpful have been ones about small business taxes, articles of successful small businesses and of course the home based business trend post that I mentioned earlier.

Check this site out if you want to start a small business of your own.
