Stupid karaoke neighbors

June 9, 2007 by Tricia

I’m so angry right now.

My karaoke neighbors are at it again!

My neighbors are having a party. That’s fine. We have parties too.

My neighbors are having a barbecue. Fine, we have them too.

The adults are outside and the kids, or mostly kids, are inside. Guess what they are doing? They’ve turned their Karaoke machine up full blast, which I swear the speakers of face our house walls, and they are singing the most gawd awful songs I’ve ever heard.

My house is vibrating. I’m vibrating I’m so angry.

I’ve phoned the house to ask them to turn it down but no one answers. They probably can’t hear the phone. I’ve called out to the adults outside to ask them to turn it down but they can’t hear me either and I’m feeling way to ill to wander into their yard. They’ll only offer me food anyway if I go over and ignore my pleas.

I’m feeling ill and I’ve been working hard to get a bunch of articles done all day. This is extremely distracting because it’s so loud it’s like they’re in my living room.

Oh yeah. I finished my articles for one site and just tried to hand them in right now. They were due on June 9th. No time is listed at all in the campaign offers. Well guess what. They must have gotten canceled. I’m assuming I went over the time limit, but if they don’t give me anything that says what time they are due I assume that they are due by midnight. Right?

Shouldn’t they have sent an email or something with a time limit? I know I’ve gotten those in the past on offers … but campaigns? Either way – it only said June 9th – no time was written down or counting down … so now I’m ticked.

I put in a support ticket, but I’ll bet there’s nothing they can do about it now. I’ll bet as soon as they got canceled by the system they went back into the campaign marketplace. So, if anyone just got a nice $100 or $25 offer … well that was mine!

!@!@$#%$^&^**&((%&%^$#$@!

This is how neighbors end up feuding or worse.

I don’t think the police can do much about loud noise at 9 pm but believe me … at 11 pm or 11:30 whichever the law states that noise must be reduced … if they haven’t stopped I’ll be calling in a complaint.

Of course I’ll have probably pulled out all my hair by that point too.

My neglected Garden

Thirteen Things about My Garden

This is Thursday Thirteen #38

1…. I love my garden. It’s where I go to de-stress and or collect my thoughts.

2…. My garden is also where I get one of the best workouts! Cutting, bending, digging, squatting, standing up, bending down, amending soil, adding mulch, lifting heavy bags or shovel fulls of soil … for hours on end? Yeah, that’s a workout!

3…. I’m still not feeling well due to the Crohn’s so, while I say the garden is a workout, I haven’t gotten much of a workout lately as I’ve been ignoring the work that needs to be done in the garden.

4…. I still need to prune at least half of my roses. I have more than 60!

5…. I bought some veggie seedlings and annuals a week and a half ago and I still haven’t planted them.

6…. The cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuces, beets, carrots, beans, and annual flowers need to be planted soon!

7…. Once I’m done planting the new plants, and likely buying more since I only bought a few, I’ll have to get busy putting the red cedar mulch down.

8…. Ok, I told a fib a minute ago, I haven’t totally ignored the garden – I have been keeping an eye on it.

9…. Lately my visits to the garden my include my camera.

10…. Each time I go into the garden I must take at least 100 digital photos of the flowers that have been blooming. I’ve been showing off some of those flowers on this blog, my gardening blog and my photoblog.

11…. We live in a fairly small house, so we created our garden and use it as additional living space.

12…. By this I mean, we entertain our friends in the garden, we have barbeque’s and dinner parties, or just use that lovely space to relax. I even bring my laptop out to the garden at times and do some of my computer/internet work while in the garden.

13…. My favorite time in the garden is coming soon. The roses and other scented flowers will soon bloom and it’s almost intoxicating to be in the garden surrounded by so many beautiful scents all at once. I can’t wait.

Wow, I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve done a Thursday Thirteen Post. It’s about time that I did one isn’t it?

A pretty annual flower

My neighbor asked me to photograph some of her flowers the other day and this was one of the ones that I choose to take a photo of.

This is a lovely orangey red annual Salvia. They come in many colors and are quite pretty when they are in full bloom like this one is.

I’ve got to plant some of my pots and baskets with annual flowers. I haven’t done that yet!

Sophie’s at it again

May 29, 2007 by Tricia

Well, I’m home alone today.

Chris was supposed to have today off, but one of his co-workers has some dental problems – as in she needs to get a tooth pulled today – so Chris got called into work. Which of course means our plans for the day have changed drastically.

I’ll make do I’m sure.

Before Chris left work he was out in the garden, enjoying a cup of coffee, and our elderly neighbor pulled out her lawnmower to cut the grass. She pretty stubborn about getting her grass cut and often looks at our house as she pulls it out because she’s literally waiting for Chris or I to come out and do it for her.

You know, Sofie, she’s the one that I call my stalker because she stares at me while I’m at my computer from her dining room window, and follows me around the garden when I’m outside. She’s also pretty tricky … as in she’ll cut her lawn or preferably have us do it on a Thursday or Friday, but her kids come to visit each day of the weekend.

We’ve asked her many times why her kids don’t cut her lawn and it seems she doesn’t want to bother them about it. I can understand that to some extent, but when it comes to bother the neighbors, sometimes several times a day she has no qualms? No I don’t get that.

So they visit and don’t do any work. Yet all week we do things for her like get groceries, fix her clocks when the power goes out, cut the lawn and several other things. She’s always knocking on our door or peering in our windows. Scares me half to death when she just appears in one of our windows too.

I think it’s high time her kids start doing some of the stuff her kids should be doing. We aren’t even related to this lady and we do more for her than her kids do!

I hate being upset with a little old lady, but she is manipulative.

We’ve told her outright many times that we can’t drop everything to run to her house to cut her grass or do whatever it is that she wants, and we’ve told her kids about what’s going on too. The kids don’t do anything, and she just pretends to not understand when we tell her we’re busy or we can’t do something for her for a few hours. Like today, Chris did tell her that he’d cut her lawn when he got home from work but she wouldn’t wait.

Two weeks ago a friend came over for a visit that we hadn’t seen for a while. We’d invited him over for a nice dinner. Sophie came over and knocked on our windows, not door, at least five times while we had our guest over. Insisting that I come over to her house to fix something when I was right in middle of preparing dinner, and again when we were actually just sitting down to eat dinner.

Short of closing our curtains, not going out into my lovely garden, and not answering the phone when she calls I don’t know what to do about this little old lady anymore.

Our neighbors humorous voice

May 25, 2007 by Tricia

Oh dear!

I was about to go outside since my husband is kindly watering the flowerbeds at the front of our house, but he has a few of our neighbors circling around him.

Our neighbors are really nice, but one of the guys that’s out there now is the kind that if you start talking to him he’ll never leave. Somewhat like my husband!

I love this guys voice and laugh too.

Have you ever watched the animated series “American Dad”? It’s on on Sunday evenings. Well, this guy talks and laughs just like roger the alien on American dad. He’s a really nice guy, but every time I’m around him I think about roger the alien and I’m sure I’m smirking at him as he talks, or worse laughs!

Sometimes I have to go in the house, or to another room just to let the laughter out.
