ProFlowers – special occasion flowers and gift ideas

May 12, 2007 by Tricia

Well it’s Mother’s day tomorrow. Did you make some plans to see your mother, or perhaps if you can’t be with her maybe you arranged for a flower delivery? If you forgot you can always send a belated flower delivery or gift basket.

ProFlowers has some wonderful selections of Mother’s Day flowers and even though it’s too late to order them for tomorrows delivery they have some gorgeous mixed bouquets. Some even come with free weekday delivery!

Did you know that Proflowers delivers the freshest flowers? The flowers for your selection come fresh from the fields. I don’t think that there are many other companies that specialize in flower delivery that can offer such fresh flowers.

Don’t feel like giving your mom or someone you love flowers? What about a lovely gift basket, or gourmet basket? Perhaps your mother would prefer a potted green plant or flowering plant? Maybe a bonsai or potted orchids? It’s up to you. Just know that there’s a wide selection of item to choose from at ProFlowers. You won’t be disappointed.

If you’d like to learn more about flowers you might enjoy taking a look at another section of their site called the Florapedia flower guide. You can use the guide to learn more about caring for plants, the meaning of the various flowers and their colors, and even get some help deciding which flowers to send your mom.

Remember to visit Proflowers the next time you need gift ideas or want to send flowers for a special occasion.

What? No party?

May 12, 2007 by Tricia

Well it seem that Chris is doing a bit better today. He says he still feels wiped out, but so far he hasn’t seemed to have had any fevers. Hopefully whatever it is that was bothering him will be gone by tomorrow.

We were supposed to go over to our friends this evening. I don’t know if they own a foosball table or if they rented one … but they get along really well with some of their neighbors and they invited a few of them over, as well as some friends like us for a Foosball tournament and BBQ.

Chris, who loves nothing more than a party, decided not to go. He just wants to stay in and take it easy tonight. So that tells me right there that he’s still off. At least he’s not being his typical man self and being really whiny about being sick. LOL Men are great, but guys – you can be such PITA’s when you’re sick.

So he’s just sitting around doing a bit of work on the computer and watching the hockey game. Go Ottawa! That’s my hometown … gotta root for them now that Toronto’s long gone.

I think we’ll have a delivered dinner tonight.

My sick man

May 12, 2007 by Tricia

When Chris came home from work on Friday night just after 8 p.m. he said he was so tired he pretty much just wanted to go to bed. Normally when he works the 12 noon to 8 pm shift he’s not all that tired because he tends to get more rest than when he works the 7:30 am shift and ends up getting up at 5 am!

So this was unusual.

Since he was so tired I decided we’d better eat right away, but he didn’t even want to eat dinner.

That was totally not like him. Wiped out, no appetite and his stomach had uhm … caused him to run to the washroom twice the evening before .. So I walked up to him and put my hand on his forehead and sure enough he had a fever.

I spent the rest of the evening checking on him as he lay on the couch watching TV. I gave him a Tylenol as soon as I discovered his fever, and managed to get another one into him before he headed for bed at about 1 am. Why he stayed up so late when he came home so wiped out I don’t know – but he did.

He doesn’t get sick too often but when he does he’s miserable. I’m hoping that he feels better when he wakes up.

I’m the one who gets fevers all the time in this house. I get fevers at least five times a day! At least now he’s got a recent reminder of how zapped you can feel when you get a fever.

Other than feeling feverish and wiped out he said he didn’t feel too bad. No headache or upset stomach.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he’s back to normal by morning or else this is going to be one long weekend!

The most disorganized family!

May 8, 2007 by Tricia

Well, it looks like at some point this weekend we’ll be going to my husbands hometown to see his parents. His dads birthday is on the 10th of the month, and of course Mother’s day is this Sunday … double whammy!

What’s really strange about Chris’ family is most of the time they don’t make any plans.

They know special occasions are happening and they’ll call at the last minute expecting us to drop everything, bring this, bring that, don’t forget the folding chairs, and a desert and we’ll see you in an hour. Or else they totally go the opposite way and over plan everything a couple of months in advance. Right down to the smallest detail, but of course the details change daily and are completely different from the original plans by the time the special occasion actually happens.

It’s so strange!

I mean there’s no word yet on what’s happening this weekend but I’ll bet we end up going out for dinner with the whole family or gathering at Chris’ parents place … and then there’s Chris’ brother calling us twice already this week to make plans for early July when he plans to come to Toronto for a visit with his son. By the time that happens his visit will end up taking place at the end of July and he won’t even come to Toronto at all. LOL Happens all the time this way!

Families are so weird.
