These bad days have to stop

July 31, 2007 by Tricia

I had another funky day yesterday where I got up, but quickly realized that I should have stayed in bed.

I think I only made one post yesterday! I just didn’t feel up to writing. Instead I did a little background work on the sites and basically just puttered around.

I don’t think it’s fair to you, my readers, for me to try to write when I just don’t have it in me. If I did I’d probably end up writing basically the same post on all my sites – “I don’t feel well today I’m not up to doing anything bleh … “. What’s the point in that other than letting you know I’m feeling terrible.

I’m sure those of you who read more than one of my sites know that when I’m in a writing mood the posts come fast! I can write six or seven posts on a few sites, each, in a matter of hours if the mood strikes me.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that if my sites go quite for a day or two every now and then it’s probably not because I’m busy. It’s more than likely because I’m feeling terrible. I may be sitting at my computer reading emails, visiting sites or doing some behind the scenes stuff with our websites, but I’m just not up to writing.

Stressed and tired? That’s me

July 24, 2007 by Tricia

I’m feeling kind of wiped out today. Actually I was feeling that way yesterday too.

I think I’m still fighting the flu that my husband had last week – I think I’ve had a touch of it, but no where near as bad as he had it. Which of course I’m thankful for since I have Crohns and if I got the flu as bad as he did I’d probably end up in the hospital!

Also, all the stress of my sites being down – writing to two web hosting companies and waiting for replies from support which can take hours and hours wore me down too.

I really am pleased that my sites are finally working again though. Now, if I could get some decent rest I’ll be ready for anything again!

Actually I have some built up work for advertisers that I’m going to spend the evening working on. I might just take a tiny rest first though so my head will be clearer and with any luck my posts will be better.

Heat Wave

June 26, 2007 by Tricia

I’m not going outside … I’m not going outside …

It’s 34 Celsius right now outside, but with our humidity factored in it’s 41 Celsius. That’s almost 106 F. The temperature is still going up too.

If it was just heat I think I could take it, but the humidity just makes a hot day absolutely unbearable.

We’ve got the air conditioning on inside so I’m comfortable, but I’m sure if I went outside for a few minutes I’d end up feeling terrible.

Ever since my Crohn’s started to act up really badly two or so years ago I can’t seem to take drastic temperature changes. It’s like my body doesn’t adjust to cold or hot temp changes very well.

I do have to keep peeking outside though. My elderly neighbor – she’s about 89, keeps going outside. I saw her sitting on her porch knitting a while ago.

Elderly people do not regulate temperatures all that well either. They often don’t sweat much so the built in self cooling protection our bodies have doesn’t work on the elderly. That’s why it’s so dangerous for them when it gets hot outside like this.

My neighbor is apt to water her garden in the middle of the day when it’s this hot, or pull out her lawn mower and cut the grass! So every half hour or so I get up and look out the front and back to make sure she’s not doing something stupid. I mean, if it’s too hot for me it’s way too hot for her!

Illness and Anger

June 24, 2007 by Tricia

Can you believe this? My Crohn’s has me down for the count yet again. I was doing ok for a good portion of last week but then Friday came along and I couldn’t get off the couch I felt so ill.

Think that was bad enough … Saturday was even worse. I almost never take my heavy duty short acting pain killers during the day. I stick to the two long acting pain meds that I’m one and leave the shorter acting ones for night time when the pain is at it’s worst and only if I really need to take them.

Well yesterday I ended up taking two percocet. As you can tell I didn’t feel well enough to do any posting at all until around midnight last night.

I’m feeling a bit better today and I’m itching to get outside and plant some plants in my garden that I bought last weekend but I have a feeling if I go out there and get working I’ll end up making myself sicker and end up having a really bad week.

I’m getting angry at this stupid disease. It’s holding me back from so much in life.

Did I sleep too much?

June 19, 2007 by Tricia

I was so tired yesterday, because I didn’t get much sleep the night before, that I actually fell asleep on the couch at about 9:30 in the evening!

I remember waking up again around 12:30 am when my husband was going to bed, but I think I fell asleep again while trying to watch TV within half an hour. I slept until 6 a.m., stayed up for a bit doing a few things on the computer and then went back to bed, my real bed this time, by 8:30 am.

I still managed to sleep for another two hours!

I must have needed sleep! Either that or my illness is about to worsen. Unfortunately I’m afraid it’s the latter.

I’ve been up for about two hours and already I’m feeling sleepy again. This can’t be good.

I’m someone who, for most of my life, has only needed five or six hours of sleep at the most. Last night I had at least 10 hours of sleep! I shouldn’t be tired. Somethings up.

I am glad that I managed to get a good sleep. I know I needed it. It’s just worrisome that I’m still so tired.
