Chris is a pen-kleptomaniac

May 23, 2007 by Tricia

Well, Chris got off work early today so that he could go to the Q107 radio station again today to talk with Kim Mitchell and hopefully get tickets to the 30 year reunion concert for Max Webster tomorrow night at the docks.

Before he left we had a mad hunt for a pen of all things.

Have I ever told you that as far as pens go, Chris is a kleptomaniac? If I put a pen out he steals it. It’s not like I can ever find where he’s put these lost pens either because he takes them out of the house, perhaps to work, and promptly loses them! It’s worse than the constant lose of socks in the dryer phenomena that I know many of you are familiar with.

After we found a pen, that I know I’ll never see again, I went searching for a place where I could purchase discount pens. I’m totally buying a carton of pens from this place. By carton I mean crate, like 1000 or more pens. I think if I do that we might actually have some pens to write with for a couple of months before they all magically disappear again.

I do keep a pen on my desk. Chris knows that if he uses it he must put it right back or he’ll suffer. All other pens are free game though it seems!

Now, consider yourself warned.

If you ever get a chance to meet Chris and I, HIDE YOUR PENS! Oh and if you use a lighter for any reason keep it in your pocket because the same thing happens with lighters too.

The vehicle has a face!

Wordless Wednesday

How cool would it be to own this vehicle?

>I think it’s a multi-animal van. You could put ears up top to complete the picture – kind of like a Mr. Potato head. Mouse ears, cat ears or even dog ears would work equally fine, I think. I suppose you could even go so far as to put the corresponding tail on the back too.

Hey look close – even the drivers and passengers seat covers have faces!

Bob and Doug McKenzie Anniversary show Tonight!

May 20, 2007 by Tricia

I should have let you guys know this on Friday or Saturday, but it’s not too late. Tonight, on CBC (The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) is set to show the movie Strange Brew, which will then be followed by an hour long Bob and Doug McKenzie 20th anniversary show. The special will be aired at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

I wrote about Bob and Doug in a recent post where I talked about Canadian culture and mentioned that they were Canadian icons. They are quite funny.

The special is also going by the name the “Two-Four Anniversary Special”. In a recent post on my home and garden blog I wrote a post explaining what the Two Four weekend in Canada really is, and how it’s traditionally a major camping and partying weekend.

It’s all about the beer and uh so are Bob and Doug.

It really is too bad that the CBC is showing this special on our first major warmish weather long weekend here in Canada. Don’t they know that half of Canada is camping?

Guy catches sunglasses on face over and over again

May 10, 2007 by Tricia

OMG you have to see this … this guy throws a pair of sunglasses at his friend and they seem to magically land on his face properly.

I thought it was amazing once but they go on to do it again and again …dropping sunglasses from a roof, a bridge, throwing them behind as they skateboard and most amazing of all, the guy throws them threw an open car window and each time they just land perfectly on his friends face.

I’ve never seen anything like this! I don’t know which is more amazing – the guy who’s throwing the sunglasses or the one who happens to catch them on his face perfectly each time.

Did you see the Colbert show on Thursday?

May 9, 2007 by Tricia

Ok this is a really bad video – not mine! I was watching the Steven Colbert show on Thursday night and his guest ended up being Jane Fonda. Instead of sitting across the tablef from him like all his other guest normally do, she sat in his lap, kissed him several times and got him totally flustered! It was hilarious!

What’d you think?
