Late night TV – American Body Shop

October 24, 2007 by Tricia

I’m watching the craziest show on TV right now. I’ve really got to stop watching TV late at night. I really do.

The show is called American Body Shop. I guess you could call it a comedy. It’s about a bunch of mechanics and their female secretary. None of them are any good at their job. Clients bring in cars and they make huge promises about how they’ll supe up the car, but they always mess it up in the end.

Each character is seriously messed up too. I don’t think you’d see so many messed up people working together in one place in real life.

If you come across this show watch it if you dare, but I don’t recommend it.

Don’t cry over Spilt Milk – Laugh!

October 19, 2007 by Tricia

I guess I’m having a regular Linky Love fest over here today. I figured that while I was spreading the love I should also tell you about Spilt Milk – the blog.

Spilt Milk is written by Tee, a stay at home mom with two boys. Like Lisa, I know Tee from some of the forums that we both frequent.

Tee’s blog is a great site to visit when you want a laugh or when you feel like reading some inspirational stories like the story about the mother of a soldier who’s currently stationed in Iraq and how he wanted his mom to send him some silly string.

Along with humorous posts, funny videos and images you’ll find some mighty cool links such as the ones in one of her recent posts entitled Cool things to do with Google, the virtual pumpkin carving contest, or perhaps the video of the of the guitar player with no arms. I must show that post to my husband!

I really like her post with Balloon Art photos! Now that’s cool.

Poke around her site for a while. I’m sure you’ll find some things that make you laugh. Oh and as you might do with any site that you enjoy – don’t forget to bookmark her site or subscribe so you won’t miss any posts!

Leave my nuts alone!

October 17, 2007 by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

00033053

I’m not sure if this is a Gopher or a Prairie Dog, but whatever it is I imagine that it was just trying to enjoy the nut it found when the birds around it decided that they wanted their share too.

I think the birds are Grackles. I didn’t see many of this kind of bird this year, but they usually love our bird feeders!

I guess this Prairie Dog knows how we feel when we eat outside and we’re all of a sudden surrounded by Sea Gulls or Pigeons. Eh?

Great daily reading at The Foo Logs

October 15, 2007 by Tricia

foo.gif Have you ever visited The Foo Logs? If you hang out at my pal Fab’s site, Pointless Drivel, you’ve probably encountered The Foo from time to time and might have even already visited his blog.

The Foo likes to blog about a number of topics, but the main topics of the blog are Tech trends & life’s ramblings. I guess this blog is a little like The Foo’s in some ways as I tend to write about those two topics quite often as well.

If you believe in Karma there’s an excellent post up right now called What Goes Around, Comes Around. It’s a true story and I’ve heard it before, but it’s a classic. The story will make you believe in Karma if you don’t already!

Then there’s a post that I think most everyone might find helpful at one point or another.

Do you ever tinker with your sidebar widgets trying to find a color that matches your blog themes colors? Perhaps you don’t want to change your websites theme, but want to spruce it up by changing the color of the links or other areas?

Well, I’m sure you’ve encountered some sites that offer very limited colors for you to choose from when you are customizing a widget. You often have to know what the actual code is to create the color you want. Well, The Foo, was frustrated with sites like this and the time it took to find the right colors so he went ahead and created a page with a table of color swashes as he calls it.

Check out The Foo Logs. As I said, if you like this site you’ll probably enjoy The Foo Logs as well. The posts are a mix of humor, life and some really great tech finds that might help you with your own website or blog.

A great site to get movie, retro and funny t-shirts

October 8, 2007 by Tricia

When you come home from work or when you are just sitting around relaxing at home – what do you wear?

I suspect that many people, like me, would answer that they dress in jeans, shorts or sweats and a t-shirt when they are relaxing at home. Ok, I know some of you and I’m certain that a few of you might answer pajamas or even less, but most of you probably dress in comfy pants and t-shirts right?

mclovin.jpg Since I work at home I seem to wear a lot of t-shirts. I haven’t purchased any new ones for a while, but I might buy some soon as I’ve been looking at an online store that specializes in
funny t-shirts. Some of the best ones that I found on the site have lines from great movies.

When I was browsing through the movie t-shirts section I saw that there were shirts from the movie SuperBad like this Team McLovin t-shirt.

Do you remember Olivia Newton John? I wonder what’s she’s up to these days. Do you remember when she came out with an album? I can’t remember what it was called, but the hit song from the album was Lets Get Physical. I hate to say this, but I remember when they used to play that song in fitness clubs all the time and I do believe that it was a t-shirt slogan if I’m not mistaken.

letsgetphysical.jpg Whether it was a slogan or not, I did find a Lets Get Physical t-shirt in the retro section at Flippin’SweetGear.

There’s actually quite a selection of t-shirts ranging from funny t-shirts to political, holiday, movie or tv and retro themed t-shirts. There’s also long sleeved shirts, hoodies, baseball caps, boxer shorts, mugs and other gear with funny phrases on them too. The prices for the t-shirts and other items are reasonable. Being in Canada I always check to see if an online store will ship to my area so I was pleased to find that any items purchased at Flippin’SweetGear can be shipped throughout North America or even internationally.

Check it out for yourself then come back and tell me which t-shirt was your favorite.
