May 25, 2008 by Tricia

Have you ever thought of living in an exotic local? Sure we all dream about living on an island or perhaps somewhere in South America, but few of us act on those dreams. Why?

I say why not? It’s a global world, there are several jobs that can be done from home – a home located anywhere in the world.

If you’ve ever thought of moving to Panama or perhaps you might be moving there due to your current job you might want to visit Encuentra24. It’s the leading Panama real estate listing service provider in Panama.

Features of the site include a large database of properties both for sale and for rent as well as images of most of the properties.

Perhaps you are in Panama right now and would like to sell or rent your property? Just visit Encuentra24, register and list your property. It’s that easy. Your ad will be seen by up to 800,000 prospective buyers and renters.

Along with being the largest Real Estate in Panama website, you’ll also find a variety of classified listings at Encuentra24. You can buy or sell cars and vehicles, find or list jobs, buy or sell items or find trade services to do work on your property.

I tried searching for properties on the site and I found the site easy to use. I was also pleased with the number of listing and their quality. The ones I found included pictures and even video of the properties.

If you are looking for property in Panama do check out the Real Estate Tips article. The article discusses how to buy real estate in Panama, discusses Panama real estate taxes, and among other great tips you’ll also learn which areas are the best areas to buy property in Panama.

I’m fairly happy here in Toronto, but sometimes during our long winters I dream about living in a place without snow. Who knows, maybe even I’ll move to a place like Panama someday. Hey, these days my job is on the internet – why not?

Disgusting dinner

May 24, 2008 by Tricia

We had dinner a little while ago and ugh, it was disgusting.

You know you can buy frozen chinese food in the grocery store? Frozen chicken balls, frozen veggie spring rolls? Yeah … well don’t. Bleh!

As I said in my last post I’ve been really busy working on my main website over the last two or three days and at the same time I’ve also been really hungry – like acidy stomach hungry. So Chris decided to whip up a quick dinner for us while I finished up the last little things I had to do on the website. He made rice and that was fine, but the chicken balls and spring rolls that he pulled out of our freezer and then cooked up were just plain yucky.

The next time I get a craving for Chinese food … I’ll pull out my passport and go to China. Nah … we’ll go downtown to Toronto’s Chinatown. There’s some very tasty Asian food there. Yum. I definitely won’t be buying frozen Chinese food again! Not that brand anyway.

Have you ever purchased pre-made frozen food or packaged food and thought it was going to be delicious but ended up being seriously disappointed?

Grape Hyacinths and hosta – Oh My!

Muscari and Hosta 2

Don’t these grape hyacinths (muscari) look just lovely in front of the yellow green leaves of Hosta Sum and Substance? It’s a lovely color combination isn’t it?

This photo was actually taken last summer. I’ve been too busy this week to get the photos of the garden that I did take this past week transfered from my camera to the computer. If anything the muscari looks even nicer this year. I will get to those photos shortly!

I picked this picture for this post because I thought it might look great with the new theme for Tricia’s Musings too.

My garden is doing wonderfully this year. There’s only one rose that’s struggling and all the rest of the roses and other plants seem to be doing well. I think we’ll really enjoy our backyard this year.

Oh speaking of enjoying the backyard and garden, our puppies having fun with it too. Yesterday we watered the garden and of course Midnight was outside with us on her leash. She loves the garden hose. She spent all her time trying to get her head and mouth under the water. I kept telling her that she’s going to love that cool hose water come summer.

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information. GTS participants remember to check in at As the Garden Grows each week so that we’ll know you made a new post!

Super busy long weekend

May 17, 2008 by Tricia

The other day I wrote a post detailing all of the things we were supposed to do on this long weekend here in Canada. It’s what we call the May two four or more formally the Victoria Day long weekend. Our long weekend came early this year. In my mind it really should be next weekend. In fact it caught me by surprise being so early.

As things go our our Saturday night plans fell through. We were supposed to go over to a friends house for a barbecue, party and perhaps even some early fireworks. Unfortunately our friends mother happened to call him on Friday and reminded him about the birthday invitations that they had on Saturday night. I guess it’s his great aunts birthday and the whole family is getting together for a big shindig.

That’s ok. Chris and I were busy enough today! We’re going to have a busy weekend so we got some gardening work done earlier today. I’m sure we won’t have time to do any gardening on Sunday or Monday! Tomorrow we’re going to a brunch at a another friends and then there’s fireworks on Sunday and Monday night.

I believe next weekend is the Memorial Day long weekend in the US. Do you have big plans for that weekend? And how about my Canadian friends – are you as busy as I am seeing family and friends this weekend?

Sweet Bear Cubs

May 14, 2008 by Tricia

Wordless Wednesday

tiny bears

Aren’t these bear cubs absolutely adorable? Too bad they can’t stay that size huh?

I’ve never seen bear cubs this young, but I have seen slightly older ones in the wild. I believe the last time I saw a young bear cub was in Algonquin Park. We’d been camping and we drove to a garbage drop off (not a dump, just a drop off with trash cans) and the young cub was near one of the trash cans.

Needless to say we didn’t get out of the car. We couldn’t see Momma bear, but surely she was around and you never get between a mother bear and her cub. That’s like asking for a death sentence!
