Get a better job with a language training course

January 17, 2007 by Tricia

I’ve just come across a site that my readers might be interested in if you are either planning a vacation to a Country where the language spoken isn’t one that you know well, or if you are planning on working in a Country where having a second or third language might be to your advantage.

Travelers, nurses, doctors and engineers might be interested in visiting the Language Trainers website. They offer courses for people with no previous knowledge of a language – ie in the case of someone visiting a foreign Country for an extended vacation. I know I’d love to have at least a basic understanding of a Countries native tongue if I was going to visit a Country for a month or more.

They also offer Business Language Courses for people who are moving to other Countries for work purposes. That’s why I mentioned professions such as Nursing, Doctors and Engineers earlier as all of these professionals are often needed for work in the Middle East, and Europe and knowing the language of the people with whom you are working is very important.

The Language Trainers not only offer Business Language Courses. They also offer exam preparation Courses for people who need to prove knowledge and training in a particular language for their employer or in order to enter University. Business courses are also available to those who need to learn a second or third language for their workplace.

Courses are offered in many different languages. Please visit the Language Trainers for more information and pricing.

FAFSA Online Guide

November 5, 2006 by Tricia

I don’t have kids, let alone kids that might be old enough to be applying for Federal Free Financial aid, but I know that a lot of my readers are parents so I thought I’d pass on some information about FAFSA online.

The site is a complete FAFSA guide, with everything you child will need to know about applying for federal financial aid. Who knows your college aged child might qualify for scholarships, grants, and other aid opportunities.

>FAFSA online provides a complete walk through of the FASFA form. They even provide an audio walk through if you prefer to listen to the guide as you fill in the paper work. It looks like it makes the whole process much easier and much more understandable. They even include 9 FAFSA secrets that will help you fill out the forms to your child’s best advantage – such as using bad investments that you’ve made in the past to offset other investments in order to bring down your total net worth.

It’s recommended that all College aged children apply for FAFSA, so why not get a little help while you are filling out the forms?

Dove ad Evolution

October 31, 2006 by Tricia

Have you seen the short film put out by Dove for their Campaign for real beauty? If you haven’t you really should watch this 1 minute video.

A woman goes through having her face and hair done up for a photo shoot for an ad.

Near the end of the film, once she’s all made up and looking beautiful- going from no make up and being an average looking woman to a beautifully glamorous woman – you see her photo on a computer screen being adjusted for the ad. Her features are changed, some times very slightly, others dramatically using photoshop.

The whole point of this film is to show that none of the photos of beautiful models, actresses or actors that we see in magazines are real. They don’t look like that in real life. No one does!

Watch this very short film and tell me how you feel after seeing it:

How do you feel about your favorite magazines now?
