My neighbor and his car

November 10, 2010 by Tricia

One of my neighbors has this old car that he keeps parked on the street in front of his house. I’m not sure what kind of car it is, but it looks like a car from the 50’s and for the most part it’s in nice shape or it was until recently.

We’ve talked to the neighbor about his car in the past. It’s a fantastic looking car and it’s obvious that he’s put time into caring for it … but it seems like he’s not taking care of it as well as he used to in the last few months.

The car is parked on a street that I can see from my front door and every time I look out I see this green car that looks like it’s slowly sinking into the ground on it’s passenger side. I don’t know if it’s tires on the passenger side are flat or what’s going on but it looks odd. It just seems a shame. It’s such a nice car and he was always out side taking care of it like he was putting in Ferrari parts and now it looks like the car is falling into a sinkhole or something. Weird.

Do you have any neighbors with old collector cars that are getting run down due to neglect?

In our underground parking garage, there’s a car that hasn’t moved once since we moved in 2+ years ago. It’s so coated with dust and the grime from when they power wash the garage twice a year that you can’t even see in the windows anymore! Plus the tires are all flat. Ridiculous to think that either someone’s paying 60$ a month for that spot, or they’ve abandoned the car and management hasn’t towed it away to make room for a working vehicle!

My only crazy car neighbor has ridiculous vanity plates on each of his (less than cool) vehicles in order to remain young, I think. You’d think that your neighbor would invest in a carport if he was so invested in his car.

Yes it happens sometime as some people care for their car and some do not and the problematic thing is that we cannot say them to care for their car as it’s their very own property so we can’t interfere in it. Yea but you can talk to your neighbor about it like what happened to them why they are doing like this. It may be also a possible reason that they are going to sell it as it is quite obvious that car is quite old and so might it would be asking for heavy maintenance.
