The best kind of news

July 15, 2010 by Tricia

One of my friends has been trying to get pregnant for years. It’s been so long that she and her husband were just about to start In vitro treatments, but wouldn’t you know it – she just discovered that she’s pregnant.

I’m so happy for her. All she’s ever wanted was to have a baby and now her dream is about to come true.

She called me the other day and was practically screaming into the phone. She had just had a call from her doctor and I was one of the first people that she let in on her good news.

Sometime this weekend we’re going to go out shopping for some of the things she’ll need over the next few months. She already wants to start looking at cribs, but I think for starters we should try to find her some good prenatal vitamins and work on things for her brand new baby room over the next few months.

Of course if we do go out shopping this weekend I think I’ll probably end up getting a cute stuffed toy or a tiny baby outfit as a gift for the new baby. I’m sure she’d love that.

I just hope that everything continues to go well for her over the next several months.

Jackie a gift card is a great idea!

Oh and since this is her first baby I’ll probably hold a baby shower for her in a few months too.

You should advice your friend that she should talk to her nurse or doctor on a regular basis. Pregnant women are going through a special time in their lives and they have special needs, special eating habits, special vitamins, etc. Take extra special good care of herself so she will have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

John I am a nurse. That’s one of the reason’s why she’s come to me not only as a friend with her big news, but also for advice.
