I’d love to get away for a winter holiday!

March 16, 2010 by Tricia

I’ve wanted to go on a holiday all winter! Not that winter here in Toronto has been all that bad. We’ve had barely any snow and it’s been quite a bit warmer than it usually is! More spring like than anything!

Still … a holiday would be nice. I’d be happy to go anywhere. Niagara falls for the weekend or a week in one of those beautiful Outer Banks beach rentals.

Actually considering that it’s already March Break and Spring arrives this weekend, perhaps we’ll hold off on a “winter” holiday and try to take some time at the beginning of summer. Chris has a one week lay off from work coming up in June (yeah cut backs!) so depending upon how our finances are doing maybe we could take a mini-holiday during that time. Maybe just going up to a friends cottage would satisfy that need for a vacation that I’ve been going through.

Did you take a winter vacation this year? If you did, where did you go?

This winter i went to Italy and it was beautiful, even if it was a little cold and it rained a lot. I’ve seen a lot of great places, and I’m thinking to plan my summer holiday in Tuscany.

We usually don’t go away in winter, but this year I want to go to the Drakensberg for my birthday which is June 🙂
We did however go on a fantastic holiday now in March, but since its summer here now I guess it doesn’t really count.

    I’d like a winter holiday…but in a tropical place!

Hope you get a mini vacation. You’ve had your share of stress. Hopefully, your questionable renter neighbors will be gone by the time you go.

This is the first year I’ve noticed I should have taken a winter holiday. My 14 year old wants to go international and was thinking Italy, I’ve never been to Italy.

Any suggestion on where in Italy would be good for a family with a 14 year old boy?

I would advise you take a vacation to Amsterdam. You can chill in the coffee shops and smoke some of the most potent weed in the world. No doubt you’d forget about your problems fast.

Got laid off in July and recently just took a two week winter vacation tour of the east coast. If you’re in Toronto, I def suggest a trip to the Outer Banks. Cape Hatteras is amazing if you’re into Lighthouse culture 🙂

I took a “vacation” from hell to Wisconsin for the winter (tried moving there…). Now I’m back where I belong in California, where the winter is definitely over. You should come out here, the weather’s fine!

I don’t enjoy winters, unless there is snow, it is rather dull going outside. I prefer sunny beach weather, which you can do outdoor activities with. After winter I realise just how long ago it was that I went hiking or went out for the occasional jog along the beach. I would go to South Africa, Cape Town for a summer holiday!!
