Is it still summer? Feels like it

September 23, 2009 by Tricia

It seems like we’re having a mini-heat wave here in Toronto. For the last three days it’s been fairly warm and very humid! Today it reached 27 Celsius – 35 C (95 F) with the humidity.

Too bad we took those air conditioners out on the weekend!

The worst thing about this little burst of heat and humidity is that there’s little to no breeze and what wind there is is coming from west – the side of the house that we have no windows on since our house is a semi-detached!

I hate it when it actually feels cooler outside than it does inside the house! That’s the way it’s been for the last few days … warm in the house well into the early morning hours. I don’t sleep well when I’m too warm and the humidity has zapped my energy and appetite. It’s almost like I took a handful of appetite suppressant pills or something.

Are you having a bit of a warm spell in your area this week? Or is the weather the exact opposite … like maybe snow or frost warnings?

    Hello Tricia,

Here in Sacramento, California it’s been hovering around the 100 deg mark (F), humidity about 10%. Sounds like you folks are having an extended Summer up there in Toronto.

I’ve traveled to Calgary and Victoria but haven’t made it your way yet.

Canada is truly a country of great beauty!
