Reminiscing about our trip to Vegas last year

November 14, 2008 by Tricia

Do you ever think about holidays you’ve had in the past? Lately I keep thinking about our trip to Las Vegas last year. It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago I was in a hotel in las vegas actually, I was in Vegas for the first time in my life.

I had a good time meeting bloggers that I’d known for a few years. Well known them interacting with them on their blogs or my own blogs and talking with them on forums.

Unfortunately my trip to Vegas wasn’t the best holiday I’ve ever been on. My Crohn’s was acting up and I also partied a little too hard on the first night I was there. I’m sure the combination was what did me in for the rest of the trip. In fact, on the second day i ended up being so ill (not hungover, ill with abdominal pain from the Crohns and bad fevers) that I had to stay in bed all day.

I did manage to make it to the blogging convention that I’d gone to Vegas for in the first place, but I didn’t do much else. I didn’t even try my hand at the casinos!

Even though a good portion of the trip was kind of lousy for me I enjoyed the atmosphere in Vegas and I’d love to go again … sometime when I’m feeling really good so that I can do as much as I want!

Have you ever been to Vegas? If so did you have a good time?

That’s when I met you! I wish we had been able to talk more. It was so loud at Tao. We will just have to get together again.

Have been to Vegas twice, most recently as February of this year. The first time spent three days there and that was more than enough. In February was just a “stop over” on the way to other more interesting places. IMO once was just enough to say I’ve been there.

What a shame that you were sick when you were there. It’s hard to be traveling and have Chron’s flare up.

Last time I was in Vegas I actually was with a friend of mine who has Chron’s and she had a flare up there as well, although hers did not last as long, nor hit her as hard as what you went through. We had a great time, shopping, dining, etc.

My favorite time in Vegas is when my husband and I went. He had to go there for business and we tagged business on a weekend. We stayed at Belaggio and they screwed up our reservations, which resulted in us getting a VIP suite (1200 foot apartment essentially). We saw “O”, went to dinner and I did a spa day. It was heaven.

Vegas is a great place and there is so much to do there. They really have made it a fun for all kind of place.

I hope your holiday is much better this year.

Just remember the good things there. I don’t think Vegas would be my kind of town, but if there were a bloggers convention….
