Big City Roads

This weeks Photo Hunt theme is Road

Since this weeks Photo Hunt theme is Road, I decided to show you two of my favorite road pictures.

I took this picture in August, 2006, when Chris and I and a couple of friends took a road trip to Chicago to visit Chris’ brother and see a Bruce Cockburn concert. (Bruce Cockburn is one of my husbands favorite musicians).

Driving in Chicago

It was raining lightly that evening as we drove through the city trying to find “The Little School House” theater where the concert was being held. I took the photo while in the car with my Nokia 6682 cellphone.

The second picture that I’ve chosen for this weeks theme is a photo of Yonge Street in downtown Toronto.

IMG_0246

Toronto is the 5th largest city in North America and Yonge street is the longest street in the world … however, since there was a street festival going on (just ending) the road was closed off … so it doesn’t look anywhere near as busy as it normally is. In fact, you’d be hit by a car or two pretty quickly if you stood in the middle of Yonge street taking a picture like this on a normal day!

I wonder, did everyone participating in Photo Hunt interpret “Road’ as literally as I did?

I didn’t ever see the beautiful site as it is. Specially building on both side the street presents a rush and clean atmosphere. Wow I wish I could be there ever

Awesome pictures! I really like the lights in the first photo. The reflections and glares give the photo real character.

    Beautiful photos.

Living in a rather flat country with not very many skyscrapers, I always think that I would feel imprissoned on such a road.

    These photos are really captivating.
I really liked the lights and the wet road in first photo , Its just giving it such a clean look to enjoy 🙂

And in the second photo I like the long lonely straight road, I like long roads that are not crowded as well and myself walking straight into it 🙂
