Spring is coming and so are the new Spring bags

March 16, 2008 by Tricia

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on two of my new sites and since they are related to shopping and fashion I’ve been reading a lot of fashion related articles in magazines and on the web. I don’t think there’s any chance that I’ll ever be a fashion Diva, but you can be sure I’ll know what all the current trends are and what new products are coming out each season.

So lets talk about handbags and purses. What bags are going to be must have’s this spring? Well, I can tell you that you should be looking at >Drawstring handbags. I think they’ve been popular in one way or another since the 70’s, but they are really coming back in a big way this year.

drawstring.jpg I really like the look of this Adrienne Vittadini Drawstring Hobo. It’s made of Italian glossy snake printed leather. It also has cell phone pocket as well as an inside zipped section and additional pockets. I love purses that are sectioned or that have pockets inside as it makes it so much easier to keep your bag organized and find things when you need them.

If you’re just not that into drawstring style bags perhaps a Flat tote might have more appeal?

This bright red Dolce & Gabbana flat shopping tote is made of woven patent leather. Isn’t it just gorgeous?

flattote.jpg If you like to carry just about everything you might need in your bag then this is the bag for you. You can carry it using the dual handles or if you’ve filled it with your days shopping you can use the adjustable cross body strap.

Bright colors are in this year, and so are floral and graphic prints.

Why not carry these trends over to your choice of bags and clutches? We all know that the right purse and the right shoes can make or break and outfit.

Personally I’m not that big on wearing floral patterned tops, dresses or coats. I know they look great on some people and maybe they look good on me as well, but they aren’t to my taste. Now isn’t that interesting given how much I love flowers?

It’s handmade in floral print cotton canvas and it’s also fully lined in Spring green cotton.

Have you purchased a new bag(s) for the Spring season? If you have, or if you’ll be shopping for a new bag soon I’d love to hear what styles and colors interest you most.

    Hi Tricia:
Happy Easter! Since I sew, I can usually make just about any bag in any style, fabric or color that I want. I usually don’t change bags to often simply because I hate taking everything out and putting in another bag. So I just choose what I want and hang on to it for awhile. Also I sell my bags at my website.

    Enjoy your Easter.
