A few years ago when Chris and I were traveling back and forth from Toronto to Ottawa we stopped several times to take photos of the beautiful scenery. It was the middle of July and the fields were full of wild flowers and wild grasses and the air just smelled heavenly.

I love these old wooden fences. If I ever were to purchase a property in the country I think I’d try to build a fence that looked a bit like this. Obviously it wouldn’t have much purpose, but I’d enjoy the look of it. I’d plant wild flowers, heather and perhaps lavender around the fence.

Do you enjoy the look of old fences and maybe even old barns?

It makes one think when they were built and what they looked like then.

Isn’t that exactly the purpose? To plant wildflowers and plants and to look picturesque? 😉

I love these fences and almost posted one myself.
This is a beautiful shot and draws you into the the sights and sounds of the summer day. Very nice.

Yes, the fence is very decorative. It would make an attractive feature in a big enough space, and lavender would be lovely. Lavender and sunshine – a great mix!

I’m from Ottawa orginaly, I’ve made that drive a hundred times (most of them to see the Jays play in their world series runs!). Swing by the Kingston area, around the outskirts of old kingston, and the scenery is breathtaking especially near the water.

That is a wonderful image. Very idyllic. And I am also fond of old human-made structures.

We have a a very different scene this week. The contrast between rural and urban is quite remarkable, if you look at the images side by side.
