Donate your car to Car Angel

January 12, 2008 by Tricia

I was just saying on my other blog My World that I think Chris and I will be getting a new car in the spring or early summer. Our car is 12 years old! It’s still in pretty good shape and barely has any rust (nothing noticeable) and drives well … but I think maybe we should start looking for a new car before the old one begins acting up.

I don’t think we’d get much money for trading in our old car. I could be wrong, but considering it’s age I doubt it. Too bad there isn’t a branch of Car Angel here in Canada or we’d consider perhaps donating our car.

If you are in the US and perhaps have a car that you don’t use or one that you’re thinking of replacing you should think about donating it to Car Angel. It’s like donating to charity. When people choose to donate car, boats, trailers, RV’s or other vehicles to Car Angel they use the money they’ve raised to make videos for kids and teens, and assist single mothers, the homeless, orphans and other worth while causes.

I know it’s probably a little unusual to think about donating a car to charity but people donate money all the time to worthwhile causes and a vehicle donation is just like donating money. The folks at Car Angel will even arrange to have your car picked up and they’ll do the paper work so that you’ll get an IRS tax deduction too.

As I said earlier Car Angel makes videos for kids and teens and they’ve given away over 2.4 million videos so far. Here’s an example of one of their videos:
