India’s broadband forum

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

My readers from India might be interested in learning about the India broadband forum. I’ve just been to visit it and I can tell you that if you are looking for information on any many of the top broadband internet services in India this would be a great forum to go to in order to learn more about your ISP.

There are a number of forum categories ranging from ones that discuss specific Indian broadband ISP’s such as Airtel Broadband, one of the leading broadband providers in India, and Reliance Broadband – another popular ISP both discussed in the DSL forum, to other forum topics such as Cable Internet services, general discussions, News and Views, Computer Technology and of course a General forum where members can talk about most anything they wish to discuss.

The forums appear to be fairly busy and there’s a good sized member base. I’m sure that if you were looking for information on how to speed up your internet connection or even how to hook it up yourself you would be able to find some on the forums to talk you through it or to give you good advice.

My friend opened a gym

January 12, 2007 by Tricia

One of the nurses that I used to work with in the pain clinic, many years ago, used to work three jobs. She worked at our clinic three days a week, at another clinic the other two, and every single day she taught aerobics and other classes in various gyms around the city. She was just a ball of energy, and she still is! She actually left the pain clinic that we worked in together just before I did, and when I started working in the hospital that I’m currently employed at, who should I run into but my old friend.

I think it was 1999, or 2000, when we still worked together at the pain clinic, that she began to talk about training for a new fitness training course. The course she was taking was a mix of boxing and kick boxing. I know she traveled out of the Country to do her training and I believe that she went to the original creator of this new form of exercise, Dean Lister, who first opened his fitness club in 1998. Dean Listers first club was called The boxing Club and I’ve just learned that it’s been expanding nationally throughout the US.

My nursing friend is still going strong with her courses and I’ve just learned that she’s opening her second gym now too. It’s interesting to think that she got her start with Dean Listers newly created fitness regime.

When I start to feel better I’m going to get in touch with my friend and see if I can join her new gym. She’s an excellent fitness trainer and I’d trust her advice. Since movement these days pretty much causes pain in my abdomen I’d have to start off with gentle exercises but I’m sure with her knowledge I’d get back into getting into shape without hurting myself or causing my tummy to hurt more.

Comment on Watching House and you could win $500

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

I just discovered that 451press is having a contest. One of my other blogs is located on the 451press network. It’s called Watching House and it’s all about the hit television show House M.D.. I also dish about Hugh Laurie and the other stars of the show on the site too.

It would be great to get some more visitors and some regular readers for my newest blog, and now 451press has created a contest that will help me, and all the other bloggers on the 451press network gain some readers.

Stop by and leave a quality comment on Watching House or any of the other 451press blogs, and for each comment that you leave that adds to the sites content or contributes to the article you will receive an entry to win the grand prize of $500.

The 451press Comment Contest will be held from now until January 31st, and at the end of the contest a random draw will take place and 6 prizes will be awarded. 1 for $500 and 5 more for $100 each. Nice eh? I bet you could use that money right after the expense of the holidays.

Visit the 451press blog for complete contest rules. BTW that’s the only site on 451press where you comments won’t count as entries for the contest.

Send large files to your clients with Ease

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

As some of you may know I’m in the process of setting up a website design blog. I’m almost ready to reveal this site to the world. However, even though my own site is not ready to show you I must tell you that I’ve been working behind the scenes on some of your favorite bloggers websites. Take Mr. Fabulous for example at his site Pointless Drivel. I’ve done some work for that site, and I’m working on another one of his sites too. I’ve had some delays lately and he’s been very patient with me, thankfully. I am happy to tell you, and him, that work on his newest site will be complete within the next few days.

I’ve actually been doing graphic arts and photography for close to 12 years now. Most of the work that I’ve done in the past has been free of charge, but alas, I must earn some money at some point so please watch for my new sites announcement. Check out my photography blog Breath of Life for examples of my photography.

The work that I do involves a lot of graphics and that of course means working with files that are of a very large size. I send them back and forth to my clients for approval before I finalize them and make them a more manageable size for their websites.

I’ve come across a site that might make it easier for my clients to view and as a result approve the work that I’m doing for them. The site is called Send This File and it allows people that typically need to send large files to clients the ability to send large files with ease.

The site is super easy to use. Just register for a free account. Upload some of your files, then select an address for the person that you’d like to send the file to, select the file(s) that you’d like to send, and then click the send this file button. The recipient will receive an email with a link to the file in their email. The person can then download the file onto their computer with ease from the Send This file site.

The free account offers members – Unlimited files size, no limit on monthly uploads, shared bandwidth and storage space, your recipients have three days to pick up files you’ve sent them, Up to three downloads per file, and when a file can’t be delivered an email is sent to the sender to notify them of the problem, plus a few more helpful features.

Members who decide to purchase an account will have a choice of four paid packages ranging from a lite plan for the individual user all the way to the Enterprise plan which I presume would be best for businesses.

The paid plans include all of the features of the free accounts plus unrestricted bandwidth, unlimited storage space, 6 day pick up time, unlimited downloads on each file, 128-bit SSL encryption, and priority response via chat or email when the member needs help with the system or their account, plus many more features.

If you find that you send large files on a regular basis, or would like to have the ability to send even larger files please consider visiting Send this file to see what they have to offer.

13 Great sites to visit

January 11, 2007 by Tricia

Thirteen Things about Great Sites I’ve Visited Recently
I’ve come across some great sites recently and I thought I’d take a moment and give you a short description each site.

1…. Jessie from Hunna’s Happenings has the most adorable photo of her niece up for yesterdays WW. I enjoy reading all of her posts. She writes in an easy friendly style that makes you want to just keep on reading. Jessie also started the Postie Carnival that’s open to all members of Pay/perp0st. Carnivals are a great way of getting new visitors to your site, and finding new sites to enjoy.

2…. I think that Chris from the Thermal blog might be becoming a regular reader on some of our sites, and as a result I’ve been checking out his site too. Chris’ site is fantastic. He’s got a mix of helpful advise, pointing his readers to sites that will help them with their own sites, fantastic photos, and some amusing posts. He balances out his posts really well -a few helpful posts followed by something light hearted. Good work Chris. Oh and before I forget it looks like Chris started another blog about a month ago and it’s called Blog-Op – tons of great website and internet related info on that site. Check them out.

3…. SubDlerium is a site about the day to day life of a student, still living at home with the parental units. This site is pretty new having just started in December. It will be interesting to see how it develops over the next few months.

4…. Lisa, from My Thoughts, Ideas and Ramblings is, I believe, a stay at home mom. She talks about family life on her blog, and spreads some love here and there through out her community of blogging friends. I like her writing style, and I enjoy her posts on the pay/perp0st forums too. She has some good one liners from time to time.

5…. A links blog is a great site. Just as it’s title says it’s a blog that will not only list your link in the side bar, but will make a short post about your blog. Right now they are asking people to write about the site in the hopes that more people will come along and list their sites. Sounds like a good deal to me! Check it out.

6…. Oseas Adelso is described by Oseas as “Just a simple, multi-media blog where I’ll show significant (and insignificant) events of my somewhat average life.” He’s a University student that I’ve met through my work with Pay/perp0st and he seems to be a very nice guy. He’s got a post on his site about the new iPhone that’s really cool.

7…. Arts a fellow Canadian and he named his site “We were the cool kids” I really enjoy his writing style – It’s a little sarcastic, but humorous at the same time no matter what he’s talking about. Poor guy hurt his eye when his glasses broke.

8…. Jeremy from Haunted House Dressings Just had a horror story published over at Chiaroscuro. It’s really good! Go read his scary story and then visit his site and let him know what you thought of it.

9…. Osman tagged me to write up my five favorite movies a few days ago. I hate to admit this but I don’t watch many movies. I can partially blame my husband for this because he just hates going to movie theaters, however he can’t take all the blame. We do have a vcr, a dvd player and all the movie channels in our full cable package. LOL Ok so I just don’t watch movies! So how about we call this movies I’ve enjoyed over the years? Jaws, Pirates of the Caribbean (I still haven’t seen the new one!), The Shinning, Matrix and Falling Down (older Michael Douglas Movie). Osman, who tagged me for the five favorite movie meme has a nice little site himself. He’s a University student living at home and also trying to make a bit of extra money on pay/perp0st. That’s where I met a number of the bloggers I’m highlighting today. You should go and see his Wordless Wednesday post – what a beautiful photo.

10…. Another site that I’ve been enjoying is The BenSpark I go there to see what the photo of the day is, and to catch up what’s happening in his life. He’s another blogger who’s style of writing I enjoy. Oh, and I like his photo a day so much that I’ve even put a banner highlighting his photo of the day in my left sidebar. Do you see it?

11…. I think that’s more than 13 sites now! Hopefully I didn’t miss anyone that I said I’d spread some bloggy love to. Please dear visitors, if you’ve read this far visit a few of the sites I’ve listed. You’ll like them. I know you will.

12…. I’m still feeling like cr*p. Remind me to start to go to bed on time? My messed up sleep cycle is really making me even sicker. I’m thinking of finding some way to just knock myself out for two or three days in a row. Maybe that will reset my body and kill the pain that I’m in.

13…. Finally finished! I am going to bed now! Goodnight, good day, and happy Thursday to you.
