Do you like Heroes this season?

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

Have you been watching Heroes this season? I don’t know about you, but I’m not enjoying as much as last season. Perhaps it’s because the characters are scattered all over the globe and keep bouncing back and forth from the present to the past.

I’m not having trouble following it … I just don’t like it. I guess I liked it better when more of the main characters were together rather than all over the place.

I mean, Hiro has finally come back to what I think is the present from where ever he was in Japan … maybe Okinawa Japan? Peter’s bouncing from Ireland to Montreal, to future New York back to present Montreal. The Dominicans might have made it across the border or maybe not … but if they are Dominicans why are they in Mexico anyway? Then we can add a Northern European city into the mix as well as New Orleans, a town in Texas and maybe Los Angeles?

It’s too much … put more Heroes together!

I think I liked this last episode better than any so far this season and that might be because there were more characters together in scenes than there have been in any other episode so far this season. Where is that clinic located anyway? I can’t remember if we even know where it is.

Getting flustered!

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

I think I’m running out of time to pack!

I’ve spent the day confirming our flight for tomorrow, calling the hotel to confirm that we do indeed have a room, catching up on my internet work as best as I can and here it is almost 8 pm and I still haven’t gotten around to packing!

I’ll never end up in bed by a decent time tonight at this rate!

Looking for a job? Try Monster

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

Monster.ca has been around for quite a while. I remember searching for nursing jobs on the site as long ago as perhaps 10 years ago! I’m glad to see that it’s still around and has so many options for employers and job seekers.

I’m discussing Monster.ca here, but as you probably already know Monster is a worldwide company with sites for specific countries such as the United States, Australia, Hong Kong, and many European countries. I don’t think there’s a part of the globe that they don’t cover!

If you are visiting the site to look over their job listing you’ll find a wide variety of positions from professional listings in the medical field to service or trade industries. You can search by the type of employment you are interested in or you can search for jobs by location or if you are an employer you can easily create a post job in the system.

Just like when I used Monster in the past, a job seeker can register and create a profile which can include the posting of your resume. I really like that feature because once your resume is up on the site you can update it over time. Employers can look over the listings as well to find potential employees that might suit whatever position for which they are hiring so posting your resume and creating a profile on the site has many benefits.

You’ll also find a Career centre on the site where you can read articles containing career advice, and the resume centre where you can build an online resume. You’ll also discover the Interview Centre, Self Assessment centre, Employment Law Centre and career news within the Career Centre subheading at the top of every page on Monster.ca.

As you can see there are quite a number of resources at Monster for anyone who is searching for a job. I’m certain that if you were to visit the various centres you’d gain some valuable knowledge that would help you get through interviews successfully or that would teach you to create a resume that would catch an employers eye.

Visit the Monster site to start setting up your profile and resume today.

Getting ready for Las Vegas

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

Speaking of Ugly Betty … I’ve kind of felt like her over the last two weeks as I’ve been busy buying new clothes for my trip and well, just because I really did need some new clothes!

Around home a t-shirt and sweat pants are just fine and since I’ve been quite the home body since I got really sick two years ago I haven’t been updating my wardrobe all that much. I really haven’t had to … until now.

I must say that it’s a little intimidating to go into a clothing store when you feel a little out of touch with what’s in fashion these days!

If I was just going to the blogging conventions in Vegas I wouldn’t worry about it all that much, but on Saturday night the Bl0ggers Ch0ice Awards are being held in the TAO nightclub which of course is a hot celebrity night spot and very trendy … so I’ve got to look the part.

I think I managed to do ok shopping and what I’ll be wearing should be acceptable. I think that’s the only place that we’ll be going that I’ve really got to worry about my appearance in any great way. You don’t have to really dress up for the casinos do you? It sure doesn’t look like it when I watch shows like CSI Las Vegas.

Oh and when I looked up what kind of temperature Las Vegas would be in November last month I read that it’s usually only about 65 F during the day and mid 50’s at night … well, I checked the weather there earlier today it was 78F and right now it’s 82F … so much for those nice sweaters I bought. I’ll have to be sure to pack some t-shirts now!

Anyone have any quick Vegas tips for me?

I’ve already been warned by a nurse that just came back from Vegas to NOT wear my contacts while I’m there since the air is so dry. Well that won’t happen! I’ll be wearing my contacts on Saturday at the very least.

BTW I’m still sick! More on that later!

Suffer from Irritable bowel or a digestive disorder?

November 7, 2007 by Tricia

Earlier in the week when I posted that I was very sick due to my Crohn’s disease one of the people who left a comment suggested that I try an Aloe Vera drink to sooth my symptoms.

Shortly after receiving that comment I came across the Serovera website where they sell a product that is made up of the healing agent Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides that is found in Aloe Vera plants.

This supplement, when taken regularly for a period of time, is said to help with the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Colitis, Crohn’s and diverticulitis.

Serovera is an all natural supplement. Research has shown that the main ingredient in this product, Aloe Mucilaginous Polysaccharides, help to decrease inflammation, promote healing and boost the bodies immune system. It does this by helping to fortify the cell walls, improves cellular metabolism as well as helping with constipation and diarrhea.

The site actually has a whole list of disorders that Serovera can help with such as Acid reflux, autoimmune disorders such as Crohn’s, Ulcerative colitis, Lupus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as several types of Ulcers and other disorders, particularly digestive disorders.

I might give this product a try myself. I’m having a terrible time lately and this sounds like it could help.

If you have any of these disorders or know of someone who does you might want to visit the Serovera website where you can learn more about the benefits of this all natural supplement, read testimonials, FAQ’s and order Serovera if you are interested. You’ll also find a number of informative articles about Serovera and the disorders that benefit from the supplement.
