Green Beans

I took this photo a couple of weeks ago.

The green pole beans that I grow in a large container at the back of the house were beginning to die down, but some of the beans were hanging nicely in front of my metal sun ornament so I decided to snap a few pictures and this was the result.

Do you grow green beans? I actually like eating them raw although I can’t do that very often with my stomach problems. (raw veggies kill me) Raw green beans taste great. If you haven’t tried them before you should.

For the first time I grew dwarf runner beans instead of the usual climbers. They worked well; not as many beans as the climbers but enough for me :o) Happy GTS

I don’t grow beans in fact I don’t grow anything for the simple reason that I don’t like gardening and therefore have no green thumb, lol ! But the beans look very appetizing and consuming fresh vegetables I am always there !

today I take the Cyber Cruise to the home of my friends in Italy which dates from 1462 ! So if you are interested to have a look …

My girlfriend’s grand parents grow green beans. A lot of them, way to much for themselves so they give the beans to their children and grand children. But it’s still a lot of beans. That’s why we got the “Green Weeks” every years…..beans-beans-beans!
They grow green salad and cucumbers, too. So we got a “Salad Month” every year, too.

Eating them raw is my absolutely favorite, especially when they’re super-fresh from the garden. This is a terrific picture — makes me miss my little green beans from the summer! Happy GTS.

Hi, love your flower pic…it is very beautiful. Makes me want to create a beautiful exotic garden the symbolizes peace, tranquility, and feminism to some extent. As for eating raw green beans- – sorry no- – I like my stomach. lol. However I do eat other vegetables but always cooked. Do you like collard greens??

Nice photo! The pale green of the beans with the metal is lovely. I love raw green beans, and use them fairly often in salads. Happy GTS,

I have grown rows of green beans in the past (a container won’t hold enough to make me happy!)… and it’s always sad when they stop showing.

I don’t eat them raw much, I prefer to prepare them by sauteeing fresh onions and garlic with olive oil while blanching the green beans, then dumping them into the pan with the onions and garlic, adding salt and pepper… stir and alternate lidding with open pan cooking until they are tender. YUM.

Great photo! Anything you can do to make gardening sexy has got to be good for the environment.

Usually we don’t eat them raw, I cook them in boiling water together with potatoes and eggs, on top some olive oil and garlic. yummy!!

    Hi Tricia,

My daughter and my dad love eating them raw from the garden. We grow bush beans, and many times grown straight from the container… with a trellis. They’re just delicious. I use them in soup. We’re done for another season but I really enjoy watching them grow, harvest them, and grow back even heartier for the next batch. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love to eat green beans and never tried them raw, sounds wired, but why not ๐Ÿ™‚ . I dream to buy a house with a garden where I can grow not only beans, but tomatoes too. There is nothing better than to eat grown by you vegetables and fruits. Hope someday I will have enough money to come my dream true.
