New software in the office

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

Chris had a bit of a messed up day at work yesterday. They’re apparently upgrading all of the healthcare management software in the hospital and they were testing it out in Chris’ department yesterday.

I don’t know if they’ve ever changed the software over to a new program in your workplace, but it’s a pain in the butt. There’s always people that can’t figure it out, or worse, it’s a new complicated program unlike anything that was used in that workplace before so no one knows how to use it once it’s installed.

In the healthcare field this is bad news! There’s already enough delays in patient care due to most medical offices and hospitals being short staffed. A major software change causes even more delays as people struggle to learn new programs while they try to work.

That’s what happened in Chris’ department. No one had been trained on the new software so it was chaos!

They really should train people first before them implement a system wide change don’t you think?

Only soft boring food for a while

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

Chris and I had a late dinner since I wasn’t feeling well earlier in the evening.

I think I should have just skipped eating dinner this evening or perhaps just had something light like chicken broth because as soon as I ate that horrible pain in my upper right started again.

No it’s not gall bladder. I’ve had that checked so many times now it’s not funny. It’s some referred pain from my abdomen, probably from my small bowels. They are inflamed and possibly scared due to the crohn’s.

I guess it’s time to go on a very bland diet. Soup, rice, yogurt, apple sauce and things like that. Boring but soft and easy to eat and digest. It might help.

God I hate being so sick. I really hate it.

Enter to Win a Nintendo Wii at CellForCash

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

Hey gang, do you want a chance to win a Nintendo Wii from CellForCash.com? Sure you do!

I believe I’ve told you about CellForCash.com in the past.

wii.jpg It’s an online company that makes it easy for you to sell your cell phone for cash. Cool.

Not only can you enter their contest and have a chance at winning their monthly $100 giveaway, win a great prize like the Nintendo Wii and be entered in their annual $1000 grand prize draw, but you can also recycle your cell phone for free and get cash back for it too.

Did you know that millions of old cellphones are simply thrown away each year in the USA? These cellphones end up in landfills. Hazardous toxic metals and chemicals can leach from the old cell phones into the ground waters and cause pollution. It’s terrible really when you think about it. So why not do your part and check to see if you can sell your old cellphone to CellForCash.com? They’ll recycle the cell phone for you once they receive it.

So what are you waiting for? You can win a Wii if you enter this contest. Go sign up!

Watching the oldies but goodies

September 18, 2007 by Tricia

While I was lying on the couch earlier today trying to recover from the severe pain I was in last night and trying to sleep I scanned through the channels and I came across a station that was playing really old television shows.

I watched episodes of Lassie, Happy Days, Maude, and All in the family – remember Archie Bunker? I haven’t seen any of those shows in ages! You know, shows like All in the Family are still funny today. Yeah it was a politically incorrect show, but it had it’s funny moments.

It was sad to think that the majority of the cast that I saw on All in the Family are long gone. It just goes to show how old that show really is I guess!

Do you ever scan the channels and stop to watch an old show that you might not have seen since you were a kid?

I can’t wait for Heroes to start next week!

September 17, 2007 by Tricia

Just for the heck of it my husband and I watched Heroes this evening.

As I suspected it was last years season finale that they were showing this evening. When you enjoy a show as much as Chris and I enjoy Heroes it doesn’t hurt to watch the previous seasons finale just before the new season starts as it helps you remember exactly where the show left off when you last saw it.

Did you watch the show? Did you see the end? Hiro seems to have either gone into the distant past or ended up in the middle of a re-enactment of a historic scene … I won’t say what it was in case you didn’t see it, but I suspect that that’s where this seasons premiere will begin.
