Gurgles and growls are a good thing

September 17, 2007 by Tricia

I didn’t have a very good night last night. I spent the majority of the night in really bad pain. Sometimes when my Crohn’s is acting up I get pain that radiates up into my chest from my abdomen. I’m fairly certain that this occurs only when I have a bowel obstruction and it’s pretty scary because the pain is so intense it’s unbelievable.

Needless to say I spent another night without sleep and this time round I even considered going to the hospital. Of course just as I truly started to considering a hospital visit the pain finally started to subside. When a blockage resolves itself you would not believe the sounds that come from my abdomen. I really must record the gurgles that it makes. It’s so loud! I’ve come to know that the noise means I’m out of danger so I welcome the gurgles

I spent the day recovering and trying to sleep. The darn phone kept ringing though! Who keeps calling with a private long distance number? I do not answer calls who’s numbers I can’t see as it usually ends up being a survey or a “you won” call.

Anyway, that was my exciting day. Now I’m busy playing catch up on my sites!

I would. After I got so big from being both hypo and having sleep apnea I went Atkins to reduce my weight. I went hard at it. I got severely constipated. I do mean severely, ladies. I now have a nice hernia scar. Also one side of my stomach is mildly distended, I have also got a spread rectus abdominus muscle. Or was that one of the bad guys from Jurrassic Park? Anyhoo, there’s still laffs to be had, when I go swimming I point at my hernia scar and tell people it’s where I shook the harpoon out. 🙂
