A day at the beach

A couple of weeks ago my husbands brother and his kids came to visit from Chicago. We had a very busy few days while they stayed in our home!

While they were here we had some old friends over and sat in the garden talking and having fun one evening. Another day we went to the big Toronto festival “Taste of the Danforth” and then there were shopping trips with the teenage kids, a little sight seeing, dinners out and a nice trip to the beach.

I think the day that we went to the beach and just relaxed with our friends was the nicest day. Certainly that was the day that I was happiest.

Naturally I brought my camera to the beach that day and the photo I’ve included in this post was taken that day at in “the beaches” area of Toronto.

when I lived in Rochester and Buffalo I used to go up to Toronto quite a bit. I remember once when I was young I was up there on a girl scout exchange program, and the girl I was staying with dared me to go swimming with her (the water was QUITE cold, it was only spring) LOL, of course I went, but will NEVER forget how cold it was.

I like the beaches near Toronto much better than the beaches back home. My memory of them is of clean water (albeit COLD water ;)) while the beaches in New York were often very dirty.

Wow. That is absolutely beautiful. We have a lake that we are getting ready to move by, with a beach attached and we LOVE it, but its not as gorgeous as that is. Great photo and I can see why it makes you happy!
