Strange blooms

This weeks theme is Funky

Honeysuckle Gold Flame

This is my new honeysuckle vine. It’s just about to bloom. I thought the flower buds looked pretty funky so I snapped a pic the other day. Don’t you think it’s a little strange looking?

Bee Balm Monardo aquarius

I also grow Bee Balm. I love the way this plant grows. It’s flowers grow on long stalks and new flowers grow on top of one another. Sometimes a stalk will have three or four flowers in a row.

This flower is fading, but to me it looks pretty funky while in it’s last stages.

The bees and butterflies think so too!

Help!!! Earth is being attached by a funky honeysuckle alien! Haha…I did not know I have such a wild imagination until now. It sure looks like two alien hands with fingers. Happy Weekend! http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/08/photo-hunters-funky.html

I find the honeysuckle vine a little strange, yes. It looks small eggplants. I love the color though.

Yes, they both have really cool form…do you have hummingbirds in your area? Hummers love the red Monarda, I was wondering if they liked the pinky one you have too? Have a happy day!

They do look funky, but are beautiful flowers. Great photos and have a great weekend.

I have a very similar honeysuckle only it’s bright, blazing red, it really draws in the hummingbirds. It hangs over a wooden picket fence near our fishpond and my goldfish and koi and dogs all love to eat it! It’s really unusual and pretty, I looked out the window one day and a total stranger was taking a snippet from it. I hope it grew for her!
