Aches and pains

August 2, 2007 by Tricia

I mentioned yesterday that we’re having a heat wave here. I’m still up at 4 a.m and the temp outside is 30 Celsius with the humidity! You’d think it would have cooled a bit more by this time but it hasn’t. Soon it will begin to warm up even more!

I think the humidity is taking it’s toll on me.

We have air-conditioning and it’s doing it’s job, but my knees and feet have started to ache. It’s normal enough for my knees to ache but my feet don’t usually hurt.

I’m not that surprised that they are hurting though, I’ve certainly injured them enough in the past! I think I’ve broken bones in both feet and I’ve done some major tendon damage to one of them too.

Do certain weather conditions make your old injuries ache?

Actually, warmer weather makes the old bones more flexible.

    Humidity not so much.

The wife and I are traveling to Las Vegas for a long weekend and I welcome the hot desert air – for a little while.

Sorry to disagree with Flap, but I think winter and cold are the worst enemies of any joine injuries or pains. Temperature is very essential for us warm-blooded animals, and lack of heat induces heart rate to go down, increase presurre on nerves and muscles.

So yes, come winter and my family keeps complaining about arthritis pains, ankle and knee pains, etc, etc…don’t worry! it’ll fade in a few days…ge well soon!!

For me its always the cold weather that causes aches in the joints lol. Hot weather makes me want to sleep more and for some reason eat less lol its weird. When I lived in Atlanta the winter months were miserable for me. Glad I’m back in California fewer aches and pains and lots of living life abundantly 🙂

Tricia – We live in the mountains in eastern California at an altitude of about 6500′. We have little humidity but it does get quite cold here in the winter and I feel it in my knees – as I, like you, have damaged them. I’m wondering if your diet is the cause of joint pain? And shouldn’t you go to an orthopedic or chiropractic doctor to see what, if any, damage you’ve done to your feet. Not trying to sound like your parent, just trying to be helpful. Hope it cools down and that somehow you can get your car air-conditioner fixed. Take care.
