The TV’s on but there’s nothing to watch

July 26, 2007 by Tricia

I’m so bored this week. Yes I’ve been busy getting my sites back on line and do some behind the scenes work on my websites … but you can only do so much of that kind of stuff.

I don’t watch a lot of TV shows, but when I do feel like watching TV I like to watch something enjoyable. Not reruns!

I’m so tired of reruns. Everything on TV this weeks seems to be shows I’ve seen recently. If they must show reruns why don’t they put on ones that are a little older so that you don’t remember every detail so well? At least for the shows that have a few seasons of programing anyway.

Anyone else as bored as I am this week?

Diet supplements?

July 26, 2007 by Tricia

One of my friends recently started dieting. She’s been working out, jogging, watching what she eats and now she’s started taking hydroxycut. This is a supplement that’s supposed to help you lose weight fast.

She asked me what I thought about the product and I just don’t know much about it. Has anyone tried hydroxycut? I think she’s been doing well with her weight loss plan so I’m not sure that she needs to do much else.

I need more time

July 26, 2007 by Tricia

Hosta leaf water droplets

I keep looking outside at my garden each day. I want to take the time to go out and take photos but I can never seem to find the time to actually do it. I mean – when I go on a photo session, I go on a photo session. I often take over 100 photos!

Naturally if I take 100+ photos I have to process them on my computer and that takes more time.

I don’t have any spare time, so I don’t go in my garden. I just look out the window at it … thinking I should get out there with my camera.

The photos are worth it when I find the time. I just need more time!

Contest to design a PAYjr Visa Buxx Card

July 26, 2007 by Tricia

If you are creative and enjoy contests you might want to try your hand at the PAYjr Visa Buxx Teen Credit Card design competition. You could win some great prizes if your design wins the competition.

The contest is for a new prepaid credit card that teens are loving and parents are thrilled to use. Parents can load the card with the money that they’d normally pay their teen for chores around the house or with whatever amount of money they think is reasonable for their teen to have access to and then there teen can use the card wherever PAYjr Visa cards are accepted.

What’s great about this credit card is not only that it’s prepaid, it’s that teens can design their own card or choose from designs that have already been created. This of course is where the contest comes in. Do you think you can create a credit card design that teens will love using?

The design contest winner will be awarded with an Apple Laptop, the second place winner will get an Apple Video iPod and the third place winner will get an iPod Nano. I know that if I entered the contest I’d be pleased to win any of those prizes.

The winning designs will be used in the PAYjr Visa Credit card gallery where teens can choose to use them for their own credit card.

Just go to the page that I’ve linked to above and follow the instructions to enter the contest and upload your design. Once you’ve submitted your design you’ll be given code that you can place on your website or myspace page which will help you gain votes for the contest. The top three highest voted designs will win the contest.

Give it a try if you want to win any of those great prizes!

Problem with site urls – help!

July 26, 2007 by Tricia

I’m having a problem with my websites – a minor problem compared to what happened over the weekend, but a problem none the less.

When I visit my other blogs that are installed on the directories of Feverishthoughts the primary domain being used on my web hosting account also shows in the address if you click on the header on one of the blogs.

By this I mean you can get to WebStyle by typing in http://feverishthoughts.com/webdesign/ and the url looks normal, but if you click on the header or the home tab while on the site you’ll get an url that looks like this:

http://feverishthoughts.thewebfiles.com/webdesign/

Also, if you visit the first url without adding the / at the end of the url you’ll be taken to the second url that I listed with my primary domain included in the url.

This was happening when I was on my previous web host too. I’m not sure when it started happening but it’s been at least month. It could coincide with my upgrading my WordPress installations to the latest versions, or it could have something to do with lunarpages moving my sites to another server at the end of June. Perhaps when they transferred the site a little bit of coding got messed up and now that my complete site has been transferred to my new host – HostGator via a c-panel full account back up the problem persists.

The funny thing is that this doesn’t seem to be happening on my gardening blog or my husbands guitar related blog, but on all the other sub-directory blogs. Could it be something in the sites themes? WordPress or a hidden redirect?

The support team at Hostgator tried to take a look at this for me but they kept trying to change my htaccess codes and I’m certain it’s not something in my htaccess coding.

I’m pretty sure that I could add a redirect line to the htaccess for each of the troublesome blogs, but I think that there’s some underlying problem causing this too.

Help!
