This is a photo of Cloud Gate. It’s a sculpture in Downtown Chicago. Locals call it “The Bean”. It’s amazing! When we were in Chicago I spent more time walking around the bean, and under it, than I did any other sight that I went to in all of Chicago.

Isn’t that amazing?

Here’s a close up view. The large structure that you can see reflected in the background is Millennium Park. I posted a photo of the outdoor theater on my gardening website. You should visit to take a better look at it because it’s an amazing design too.

Cool.

I just loved Chicago. I was only there for three days, but I found that it was very much like Toronto. I felt very much at home there.

Maybe Chris and I will end up going to Chicago again this summer.

BTW when these photo was posted on another site someone wondered if it was photoshopped. Nope. This is the way The Bean looks. It’s just that cool. If you ever go to Chicago you must see Cloud Gate.

My neighbors need singing lessons

June 22, 2007 by Tricia

Well it seems the Karaoke neighbors next door were at it again! This time Chris was home to hear all the noise. It was even irritating him so you know it was bad!

Perhaps school is finally out for their young teen aged son and they decided to have a Thursday night party? They sure has a lot of people over and they got their awful Karaoke machine going too.

I must admit that they weren’t quite as loud as they were two weeks ago, but they were still extremely loud and what’s worse is that they still can’t sing!

Do you think it would be really bad of me to contact some professional voice trainers and have them call my neighbors house?

I mean, if they are going to keep on singing and driving me mad they might as well sound good doing it!

It’s 1 a.m and they are still up. The music has stopped but I can hear them jumping around in their house. I swear they are the noisiest neighbors I’ve ever had!

Corporate casual wear – have your logo placed on garments

June 21, 2007 by Tricia

I was just visiting a site called Corporate Casuals and I think they’ve come up with a fantastic idea. Companies can have custom embroidered shirts and apparel made to order.

They can use this apparel either as part of a uniform that their employees would wear or as items to sell in the gift shop to their customers.

Just think. Perhaps you own a business where the employees can dress casually but you’d like them all to have a similar dress code? Get custom t-shirts made with your company logo embroidered on to the shirt.

If you have a popular business – a fun restaurant or trendy shop – you could get shirts, hats, active wear, outerwear, bags, items for kids and printed tees made up for your businesses gift shop.

There’s nothing better than having your employees or clients walking around wearing your companies logo. It’s free advertising.

The site is really easy to use. Upload your own design or logo, or browse through their catalog of embroidered designs and create your own on design on the spot. All you need to do after that is choose which types of garments that you’d like to order choosing quantity and sizes and then pay for your order.

It generally takes three to four days for your orders to be complete but they will be shipped out shortly after completion. You can order next day deliver but that would of course occur once the order was actually complete.

Visit Corporate Casuals if you are interested in having custom designed casual wear for your business or upcoming event.

A lovely combination

hybrid clematis Seiboldiana

Hybrid Clematis Seiboldiana

I just love this clematis vine. I have it growing at the entrance to my backyard on an arched bamboo trellis. It grows and entwines itself with a Breath of Life climbing rose. It’s a gorgeous mix because the breath of life rose is a pale peach, and the large clematis are a blue tinged purple.

Here’s a photo of the Breath of Life rose:

Do you see what I mean about how beautifully the colors of the two flowers go together. It’s outstanding when they are both in bloom at the same time.

Actually, I believe that by sometime later today both will be blooming at once. If I’m able to I’ll try to get a photo of both together.
