Gastric Bypass surgery resource

June 9, 2007 by Tricia

More and more people seem to be turning to surgical methods of weight loss and or weight control. One of the many techniques that people are trying, and having success with is Lapband surgery.

Lapband surgery is a form of gastric bypass surgery. There are a few forms of lap band surgery, but the effect of this procedure is to reduce the capacity of a persons stomach so that they can’t eat as much food at one time. This results in them feeling fuller faster and obviously results in weight loss.

There are some surgeries that actually remove part of a persons stomach in order to reduce the size of the stomach, but I think the most common procedures these days involve attaching a band around the top of the stomach in order to reduce the opening and thus capacity of the stomach. This is called a gastric sleeve or a mini gastric sleeve – depending upon which procedure is decided will work best for a patient.

MyLapbandsurgery.com has quite a bit of information about lapband surgery, and the different types of gastric bypass procedures. I suppose you could say it’s a central resource for information about gastric bypass surgery.

You can read the testimonials of people who have had gastric bypass surgery and then join the forum to talk to others who are considering the procedure, and those who’ve had it done.

Certainly there are many benefits to losing weight. People who are overweight who lose weight at a healthy rate reduce their chance of cardiovascular and respiratory disease, hypertension, stroke, sleep apnea, osteoarthritis, joint problems, heart attack and diseases such as diabetes. Weight reduction will also reduce the strain on the back, and likely as a result of the weight loss the person who has reduced their weight will become more active which is another way to help improve ones health.

Having any kind of surgery has both pros and cons to it. I strongly suggest that if you are considering gastric bypass surgery that you attempt to get as much information about the surgery and the expected outcome before deciding if this the method for you.

Stupid karaoke neighbors

June 9, 2007 by Tricia

I’m so angry right now.

My karaoke neighbors are at it again!

My neighbors are having a party. That’s fine. We have parties too.

My neighbors are having a barbecue. Fine, we have them too.

The adults are outside and the kids, or mostly kids, are inside. Guess what they are doing? They’ve turned their Karaoke machine up full blast, which I swear the speakers of face our house walls, and they are singing the most gawd awful songs I’ve ever heard.

My house is vibrating. I’m vibrating I’m so angry.

I’ve phoned the house to ask them to turn it down but no one answers. They probably can’t hear the phone. I’ve called out to the adults outside to ask them to turn it down but they can’t hear me either and I’m feeling way to ill to wander into their yard. They’ll only offer me food anyway if I go over and ignore my pleas.

I’m feeling ill and I’ve been working hard to get a bunch of articles done all day. This is extremely distracting because it’s so loud it’s like they’re in my living room.

Oh yeah. I finished my articles for one site and just tried to hand them in right now. They were due on June 9th. No time is listed at all in the campaign offers. Well guess what. They must have gotten canceled. I’m assuming I went over the time limit, but if they don’t give me anything that says what time they are due I assume that they are due by midnight. Right?

Shouldn’t they have sent an email or something with a time limit? I know I’ve gotten those in the past on offers … but campaigns? Either way – it only said June 9th – no time was written down or counting down … so now I’m ticked.

I put in a support ticket, but I’ll bet there’s nothing they can do about it now. I’ll bet as soon as they got canceled by the system they went back into the campaign marketplace. So, if anyone just got a nice $100 or $25 offer … well that was mine!

!@!@$#%$^&^**&((%&%^$#$@!

This is how neighbors end up feuding or worse.

I don’t think the police can do much about loud noise at 9 pm but believe me … at 11 pm or 11:30 whichever the law states that noise must be reduced … if they haven’t stopped I’ll be calling in a complaint.

Of course I’ll have probably pulled out all my hair by that point too.

Street people take Visa?

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

Last night, after my brothers and sister, Chris and I finished dinner we were walking back towards my brothers hotel we found that the streets were crowded with partiers.

Everyone was lined up to get into the hot night clubs, or walking the street after seeing a movie, leaving restaurants as we were and so on.

As we made our way down one of the busy streets we passed a street person. He was sitting on the ground with a sign in his lap. We’d already been approached by street people even as we ate at the restaurants outdoor patio … and yes we did give some money to those who looked like they needed it, but not to all.

This particular street person was sitting on the ground near a light pole. He called out as we walked by “I accept credit card payments! I have a family to feed you know!”.

We couldn’t help but laugh, picturing a street persons Visa business address – 5th pole at Front and Adelaide, and pictured him with one of those Visa machines that make an impression of the card number.

Only in Toronto!

Now to be clear I’m not laughing at this guy. I thought it was a great way to catch our attention. Obviously it worked. LOL

I need a holiday

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

LOL ok in light of what I just said below I think I’m definitely going to plan at least a weeks holiday in the near future. I really think I need a break.

Perhaps I’ll look into one of those Virgin Island yacht charters … well if I come into a lot of money maybe I will. I think it’d be too hot to go to a Caribbean island or another warm location at this time of year.

Perhaps I’ll just rent a cottage for a week in Northern Ontario. That’s more my cup of tea anyway. I haven’t been camping or canoeing in ages and I really miss doing that.

I grew up having a cottage and we went there pretty much every weekend throughout my childhood. I really miss not having a cottage to go to anymore. Hey, maybe what I should do is look into buy a cottage instead of just thinking about renting one. Yes I know cottage properties are pretty darn expensive, but this half city half country girl could sure use a place to retreat to every now and then.

Writing overload!

June 8, 2007 by Tricia

I feel so out of it this week.

My Crohn’s is acting up and I haven’t been sleeping well at all. At the same time it feels like the internet work that I have is increasing and increasing.

I think I need to add a few more hours to each day in order to get things done and get enough sleep that I’ll feel better.

I have at least seven major articles that I have to write over the next day and a half, and I’m fairly certain that I’ll have more assignments from another company within a few hours.

I think, other than getting those articles finished, I might just take the weekend off to relax if I can.

It’s just so weird. Here I am home sick, unable to work because of my illness, yet I seem to have too much work at home? Kind of ironic isn’t it?
