Illness and Anger

June 24, 2007 by Tricia

Can you believe this? My Crohn’s has me down for the count yet again. I was doing ok for a good portion of last week but then Friday came along and I couldn’t get off the couch I felt so ill.

Think that was bad enough … Saturday was even worse. I almost never take my heavy duty short acting pain killers during the day. I stick to the two long acting pain meds that I’m one and leave the shorter acting ones for night time when the pain is at it’s worst and only if I really need to take them.

Well yesterday I ended up taking two percocet. As you can tell I didn’t feel well enough to do any posting at all until around midnight last night.

I’m feeling a bit better today and I’m itching to get outside and plant some plants in my garden that I bought last weekend but I have a feeling if I go out there and get working I’ll end up making myself sicker and end up having a really bad week.

I’m getting angry at this stupid disease. It’s holding me back from so much in life.

    Hi Tricia,

Anger is part of dealing with an illness, but since you are a nurse I am probaby telling you what you already know.

    Big hug!

Sorry to hear you have had a bad couple of days. Percocets take me down for the count as they give me a migraine so for me they are worse than the pain. I can take only 1/2 else the migraine will kick in.

    Feel better soon!

I hope you’re starting to feel better. Some days, the perc’s are all that will touch my pain, too.

Best of luck with the Crohn’s…I had surgery to resect my intestines when I was 20. I am 45 now with no pain.
