13 Reasons why I can’t wait for Spring

February 15, 2007 by Tricia

Thirteen Things about why I can’t wait for spring!

This is Thursday Thirteen #34

I can’t wait for Spring because …

1…. It’s freakin’ cold!!!

2…. Too much snow.

3…. I want to get outside for daily walks but between the subzero temperatures and snow I need to wait for better weather.

4….I love the soft yet bright greens of Spring.

5…. I’m going stir crazy stuck inside this house.

6….We get together with our friends more often when the weather is nicer.

7…. I can get in the garden.

8…. I’m dying to see the first green leaves of my crocus’ and other Spring flowers poke up through the earth.

9…. I love barbeque’s! It’s too cold and windy to BBQ outside in January and February (sometimes March too).

10….I want to go bicycling. It’s not as much fun in the snow.

11…. I can sit outside in my garden with my laptop and do my computer work.

12…. maybe I’ll be feeling good enough to get back to work by Spring?

13…. Spring is my favorite month – full of new life.

I used to BBQ in the snow… sometimes we’ll get some steak tips and… dang, now I’ve got a hankering! Happy TT, mine’s up!

Yeah we do too sometimes but right now it’s like -19 celcius (-2.2 F) and our BBQ is in the driveway which is a windtunnel at this time of year. So it’s kind of pointless to try to heat up the BBQ. I think we’d use all our propane just trying to cook the food in these temps! LOL

I’m craving a BBQ too … maybe in a week or two!

Lots of very good reasons to want to see spring arrive! *smile* I’ve learned, though, as I’ve gotten older (55) to enjoy and savor each season for the pleasures that each one brings. I used to dread this time of the year….January – March….but now I appreciate the time of rest, respose and reflection. Still, it will be so wonderful to see spring arrive! Have a great Thursday!!
