January bills got you down?

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

Now that January is here I bet some of you are adding up how much you spent over the holidays. Did any of you go over budget? January can be depressing when you realize that you overspent in December. We’re supposed to be beginning a new year and many people end up starting out in debt.

If you’ve found that you are in need of some extra money have you ever thought about perhaps talking to your bank and looking into a debt consolidation loan? Instead of paying your bills separately, a little bit for you, and a bit more for you – why not add up everything you own and take out a loan that will pay off all of those debts. Then you’d only have to pay off the loan.

I know the thought of taking out loans can be a scary prospect for many people, but sometimes it just has to be done. Knowing when it’s time to get help and perhaps take out a loan is half the battle. Why wait until you are even further in debt?

Even if you haven’t to have a poor credit rating there are many places where you can secure Bad credit loans. You may end up paying a little more interest than if your credit rating was fantastic, but think about it- securing any type of loan when you have a bad credit rating, and actually paying it off on time by making timely payments is one way to work towards improving your credit rating.

Back to normal

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

Alright. I should be back to normal posting now. I’ve been up all night, nothing unusual in that, writing in all my sites, and creating back up posts. This is the last blog I’m working on for a while.

I got my first true flame yesterday. Not my first flame ever – I’ve had those on the reptile mailing lists that I run, not usually directed towards me though.

Amazingly my first blog flame was on As the Garden Grows, my gardening blog. What do you think I could have possibly posted that would get someone so angry that they’d call me an idiot three or four times? Well, it was my post “Amazing Weather“.

It seems that the person took offense to the fact that I said it’s often -10 Celsius (14 F) during the day here in Toronto in January and even colder at night. They told me that I should discuss things that I know nothing of. Unfortunately they didn’t seem to notice that they were commenting on a gardening blog – I think most gardeners are very aware of the weather year round. Plus I’ve lived in Toronto for 23 years. I think I know what I’m talking about.

My commenter, who wrote like this “so know b4 u speak u stupid idiot. ppl like u that don’t know facts b4 the speak make others think that Toronto is that cold” Gee with grammar and proper spelling like that I should take this person seriously shouldn’t I? Especially when they compliment me by calling me a stupid idiot. LOL

I think that persons just a heart attack waiting to happen if they let a gardening post about nice weather get them so upset.

I don’t understand why people letting the little things in life like this get them so upset. It doesn’t make sense.

What kind of person are you?

Do you fly off the handle at little things when you think you are right and someone else is wrong?

Or do you let it slide and save your energy for bigger problems that really do need a response?

Online insurance Quotes for the UK

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

I remember when we were looking for insurance for our house. To finalize our mortgage we had to have home insurance, and to get home insurance from the company that we finally settled on we had to have a home inspection to be sure the house had no major safety issues that might affect our insurance premiums.

Unfortunately this is all part of purchasing a home and being a home owner. You need insurance. It protects you, and it obviously makes banks that provide the loan for your mortgage feel better about securing the deal. The banks interests are protected by your home insurance too.

I wish that while I was hunting for home insurance that I’d stumbled across a site such as Insure121. This site has information on all kinds of insurance products from car insurance, home insurance and even Pet insurance.

This site has information for people living in the UK and it provides quotes from companies offering the insurance type of your choice. For example, if you are looking for home insurance, just click on the home insurance tab and you’ll be presented with a number of companies that offer home insurance and a description of what each company provides. I think this is a great site. I only wish that I could find a Canadian company that would let me compare insurance companies and get the best quotes.

Find work with CSI

January 9, 2007 by Tricia

I have to tell one of our friends about the CSI site. Our friend is a Civil Engineer and I believe he’s been unhappy with the company that he’s currently working for. CSI, or Civil Search International is a company who’s 14 dedicated recruiters work to match Civil Engineers with Civil Engineering Firms. This might be a great company for our friend to register with as he might be able to get a job that suits him.

According to the site the CSI team has quite a bit of accumulated experience behind them. Many of the 14 professional recruiters have 10, 20 and even 30 years of experience in executive management, civil engineering recruiting. All combined they have over 60 years worth of recruiting experience.

CSI believes that they have the most comprehensive list of civil engineering PE’s and EIT’s in the industry and this enables them to make over 25,000 calls through their data base of prospects as they work to match civil engineers with companies seeking to employ them. They customize each search to fit their clients needs.

They work with many of the top engineering firms in the US, both regional and international firms. The firms that CSI deals with have great projects, and provide excellent salaries and benefits.

Satisfied Clients Including Many of the Top Engineering Firms in the United States: Currently, we represent over 50 leading Civil Engineering firms, many are international leaders while others are top regional firms. These firms are working on the best projects, have outstanding management teams and offer excellent salaries/benefits as well as a chance for rapid promotion. After spending the time to get to know our client’s needs, we then prepare a detailed job order before beginning the outbound dialing process.

If you are a civil engineer why don’t you visit the CSI site and see if they have opportunities that suit your experience or future goals? You might just end up with a job that you’re happier with and perhaps better pay too.

Hello Strangers

January 8, 2007 by Tricia

I guess it seems like I’ve been missing in action, and I have been … sorta. I can’t believe how long I’ve been going not posting on my sites!

I’m puzzle hunting. Deep into a contest that might very well end some time today. I’m busy trying to win $1000 so I just plain haven’t been writing anything. I probably couldn’t write much anyway because I’ve been staying up late, sleeping for two or three hours and then getting back into the hunt. Yes, that’s just great for the Crohns too so I’m feeling pretty yucky right now too.

So please excuse my absence while I try my hardest to win some cash. I’ll be back soon – probably writing regularly again by tomorrow or even late tonight.
